RE: Mass Pike Boston to Venice FL

If the weather is threatening I get off I/84 at the first PA exit and take US 209 to I/80 to PA 33 to I/78 then to I/81 south (it's mostly flat). This eliminates PA mountains with fog and snow. Nice weather I/84 to I/81.

RE: Class A creature comforts at FHU stays

Entegras and Newmars are more quite than most of the rest. The AC is ducted and with their insulation the AC runs less than others. Aqua Hot is a diesel fired boiler that heats very well; it sends hot water to heat exchangers where the blower takes over. Entegras use the hot water to heat the floors. It also provides continuous domestic hot water.
PS they ride great.

RE: What about driving a diesel pusher?

There are a few things different but nothing you can't adapt to in five minutes.
Gear selection is a touch pad; there's no Park, you apply the Parking Brake. The air brakes feel a little different and some other small stuff.

RE: Memphis

At Tom Sawyer you get the entertainment of watching tugs & barges going up and down the river. That keeps me occupied for a few days.

RE: Recomendation for campground near Memphis.

What Busdriver says. Tom Sawyer is worth staying an extra day or more, watching tugs and barges go by!

RE: Temp. go before freezing pipes on class a

Depends on lots of things. If you're going for a few days leave the heat on (disconnect the water). If it hovers around freezing the coach will gather heat during the day to keep it from freezing up, but do you want to chance that? If it gets down to like 28 then you had better have winterized!

RE: Buying New Class A Questions

Most 450 HP rigs with a tag are rated for 15,000 but to get over that you have to move up.

RE: Buying New Class A Questions

If you are going to tow more than 15,000 lb. you will need a motor home with 600 HP, the top of the line, like a Zephier, Cornerstone or King Aire.

RE: Tom Sawyer Park West Memphis, Arkansas

We love Tom Sawyer! Last month we stayed there 4 days without disconnecting the Jeep. We just relaxed and watched the tugs and barges go by.

RE: Torque on Lug Nuts

All lug nuts should be retorqued after about 50 miles. eg: car, truck, or motor home! Anytime a garage has done mine, I have had to sign a form agreeing to return for the retorque.

RE: Freightliner chassis

We had a Freightliner and now a Spartan. I think the Freightliner had fewer problems, and there are many more dealers for them. Spartans are usually only on higher-end coaches but Freightliner is under lots of high-enders too. Both are well designed and built. I found each company easy to deal with.

RE: 2015 Itasca Ellipse 42QD Vacuum system

You will have a circuit breaker. Take anything (drop light leaf-blower etc) 110V and try the outlet to see if it has power.

Although there is no real difference in time the EAST beltway seems to have "gentler" traffic.

RE: campground recommendation

We like both Cheyenne KOA and Cabela's in Sidney. Which we stay at depends on the distance to the next stop or from the last one.
