RE: Winnemucca to Klamath Falls on 140

If I remember correctly the sign says "NO FUEL NEXT 140 MILES" as you leave Winnemucca.

RE: Good route from Denver to Newport, Oregon

US 20 west of I/84 is a nice ride. There are some twisties and climbs but nothing scary. In the twisty section there are lots of pull offs so you can let the traffic go by. West of Bend, going down there are enough turns and switch backs that you have to work a bit and you have to be on the lookout for a "Sasquash" crossing the road.

RE: Marker Lights

Amazon has a million of them. The trick is finding yours.

RE: flat towing a toad

We have towed a lot of Jeeps and all worked well. A Colorado or Ranger would work too.

We had a '10 -'11 Journey 40 L which we loved. 75,000 miles in about 6 years with very little trouble and the Magnum chassis has unbelievable storage.

RE: Tag axle question

They are the same, only the tags are turned around to fit properly.

RE: Leaving tow bar connected to MH

I spray it with anti-corrosion oil and cover it.

RE: Concrete driveway thickness??

It's not a permanent fix but a 4 x 4' piece of 3/4" plywood under each wheel set would distribute the weight.

RE: Hide-a-Bed with Footrests

We have a very similar couch. The bed is a nice air mattress and the seating is OK but the foot rest just doesn't fit me well. Maybe if the seat back reclined!

RE: Yellowstone in October

Do you have an idea why they close? SNOW!!!!!!

RE: ONe-way roads in Yellowstone NP

We have done the Blacktail Drive. It's mostly dirt and gravel. It was over an hour drive. We did in our pickup; it wasn't a challenge. I would be leary in a Sprinter but I haven't driven one and it was a few years ago. We did not see any great wildlife but you get way off the Loop road.

RE: Preference for one night camping

It doesn't matter much to us but quieter is better.

RE: Passenger seat belts

Children should be in forward facing seats! I was a Trooper and also a PI and have seen cases in which young children were killed from the force of a side impact (T-Bone). The car seats were not damaged but they didn't prevent sideways movement of the neck. Of course very small children should be in rear facing car-seats

RE: Towing capacity - surprisingly little on new coaches

You really have to know what you need before you buy. If you want a particular motor home you have to settle for a toad it can pull, or if you want to pull a full size pickup realize you are going to need a DP.

RE: Need help with Power Gear Leveling

I think hardware stores still sell a bag of corks of assorted sizes. Find one that fits and use it until you get the proper plug or just keep using it.

RE: Firearms in Calf.

First nobody is going to come into your RV and search for guns. Second if you needed to use it and didn't; would that be worse than dealing with the police? I can and do always have a gun within reach; however a can of WASP spray is my first line of defense. (haven't used either)

RE: trading up to a DP, wondering about fuel program

Used it going and coming to FL for the winter saved about $ 335 on about $ 970 pump price. Very easy to use! Unlike Good Sam it worked every time and the discount is WAY better.

RE: slide out lights

I can't help installing them but they do make a nice gentile glow when the awning lights would be too much.

RE: Yellowstone - west or northwest enterance?

Going to Madison, I think the west entrance would be easier. The climb out of Mammoth is pretty steep, but not a real challenge.

RE: Yellowstone / Old Faithful area

The best is Grizzly in West Yellowstone; there are other nice ones in West Yellowstone. It's about a 30 minute drive depending on what animals show up along the way.
