RE: Flashlight

I have 2 browning rechargeable headlamps from Walmart. $30 and you can plug them into your phone charger to recharge. I have used them for about 3 years now hunting, and my side job where I was having to crawl under houses. It’s nice to have your hands free. I believe the light is 300 lumens, with a few different power levels.

RE: Dumping Tanks in an Empty Full Service Site

I don’t see a problem dumping in an empty site. It only takes a couple minutes and you leave. As lone as you pay attention you won’t leave any mess. I wouldn’t consider it cheating if your just dumping your tanks, not really any different than going to the dump station.

RE: Stoped routine

No self service pumps state wide? What is the reason for that. I can remember seeing an option for full service as a kid, but it was rare. In the middle of winter I think this is an awesome idea.

RE: private land camping questions, cell booster suggestions

I just looked at their site and they have ones specifically for RV’s. I’m not sure what the differences are but we definitely have been happy with ours.

RE: private land camping questions, cell booster suggestions

For the cell booster we bought weboost. My cell would not work in the house but could get 2 bars of lte outside. Now I get 3-4 bars lte inside the house. I think it was about $500, and was very easy to set up.

RE: A poll: What does 2 blinks of the left signal mean to you?

About 25 years age we were in Texas on a 2 lane road where the shoulder was as wide as a driving lane. They never used a turn signal, but would slow a little and pull onto the shoulder and let you pass. That’s the only place I’ve seen it done but it was nice to see people can be polite and help others and get nothing in return. For those on here who are getting angry about someone doing this might want to take a look at themselves and figure out what is wrong with there own attitude.

RE: MORryde step question

If I’m not mistaken torklift now makes a replacement step for the morryde that still fold up in the camper but do not take up as much space.

RE: 2015 GMC Sierra Denali-catastrophic fuel pump failure

I had an 02 Duramax and when my injectors went out GM offered 0 help. I was out of the extended warranty by 2 months and at 180,000 miles. After fixing it I keep the truck for another 85,000 miles, and the last time I talked to the guy who bought it he said it was at 360,000 on the same ones. As mad as I was at the time I still have a Duramax and would not hesitate to get another. Now the dealer who told me twice the injectors were good, I’ll never buy from them.

Flat bed owners

I currently have an 05 2500 Silverado. I am looking at a 19 gmc 3500 dually. This truck sits about 5” higher than my current truck. I have thought about getting a cm Er style bed with the turnover ball. I’m not sure if the 4” trough would make a difference in pin height but a b&w flat bed hitch is about 6” shorter. My current camper is an 05 outback. I was wondering if I did decide to get a flat bed would this even out for the ride height of the newer style trucks? Another advantage is the base is only 50 lbs.

RE: HOW YOUR IPhone could save your life.

You missed a couple of forums to post this to. Where else is this posted on this forum, I haven’t seen it. If on completely different forums, who cares why not.

How to clean the weep holes?

Last year I noticed water standing around the bottom of the window when the heater was used. Today when I washed the camper I sprayed water in the weep holes and noticed a lot of junk flowing out of them. After seeing this I went to all the windows and did the same thing. Almost all the windows had trash in them, some worse than others. What do y’all do to clean the weep holes out. The water hose seams to work but probably not the best idea. I also have not checked to see if water will drain from the inside yet.

RE: Short trip opinion

If you have a campground close enough to work stay there all week and go to work from the camper You mentioned getting to the campground late Friday because of waiting on your wife to get off work. Again if you stay somewhat close you can go early Friday and set up In the daylight and she could meet you at the campground after work. I have had a camper for around 10 years now and still try not to setup after dark if possible.

RE: Bridge Falls onto I75

They are saying this evening that the bridge shows signs of being struck recently by an oversized trailer.

RE: A Really Rustic Camper

That guy is the reason for the ten year rule... What if it was built last year. That would be funny to use a new truck and take it to one of them.

RE: North Georgia Mountains

Someone mentioned wood ring branch earlier, that’s one of my favorite local parks. All sites are on the water and all but one or 2 are very easy to back into. I believe those 2 have remarks in the description to let you know. There is not much to do there but swim, and relax. I believe the lake is 500’ deep. We take out kayaks when we go there and once I put my fish finder on and about 100yds from the camper I was over 350’ of water. That a strange feeling.

RE: North Georgia Mountains

We’re going to Fort Mountain next week and I’m getting conflicting info if my 39’ Momentum will fit in the CG without tagging a tree. Some say it’ll be snug, but be careful and it’ll fit, and others say don’t even try it. Can anyone with actual experience advise? I’d narrowed it down to Vogel or FM and the available pull thru sites at FM looked to have easier access. You should fit in ft mountain. We have been there many time, with a 30’ 5er. One of my coworkers took his 43’ raptor, it was tight I’m sure, but he got in.

RE: Greatest Weight You’ve Ever Towed

I have no idea of the weight but I had an 02 Duramax 2500, and borrowed a dump trailer to get dirt to build a parking spot for the camper. As soon as I left with the load I knew I messed up. The truck was not happy pulling the trailer, and would barely stop it. Got home and had to unload around half the trailer with a shovel before the hydraulics would dump the trailer. The capacity was 16k lbs. But I did get enough in one load for no need for a return trip.

RE: Battery in key fob ?

I Have always keep a key hidden on my truck as a backup. Once while riding atv’s My friend had a pretty bad accident, my truck keys were in a storage box on his Atv. In the accident the box was damaged and we were unable to open it. Luckily I had the spare so we could leave the area. I want the remote start on my next truck probably more than any other option, but with so many trucks using the key fob is there any way to start the truck with a back up key.

RE: Yamaha 2000 ie. running eratic

Mine ended up going back to the dealer and was rebuilt. Runs fine now, was only the second one they had do that. You could faintly smell the burnt oil at times when it was running. I have not had to add any since.
