RE: Greasing the hitch

I put a dab of grease on the ball and spring bar points everytime I hook up. Cheap automotive wheel bearing grease is all you need 3 bux for a big jar

filling fresh water tank

Hello all I am planning on one last trip out this year in our new rig. Its a open range lite 312bhs with rear docking station. The campground does not have full hookups so I have to fill up with water when I get there.I know how to fill ,there is a lever for city or fresh tank fill. How will I know when its full?

dometic furnace problem

Hello friends We got to take out our new rig this past weekend for some fall camping. Its a highland ridge lite bunkhouse. The furnace will light and run for a few seconds then shut off. Then it will relight and run for a few seconds and shut off this just keeps on repeating. I know its under warrantee but both the dealers are over an hour and a half drive each way. I was wondering if I can fix it myself or possible my local furnace man?

RE: Flashing rope light

Party hardy campers are the reason I switched from a hybred to hard camper. Loud music yelling and so on. I too go camping to escape. I hate when noisy campers drink and party till 3 am they make me not want to go anymore. I don't care about the lights

50 amp surge protector

Anyone ever have their equipment saved by a surge protector? I just sprang for a new one for my rig. Has indicators that show correct current or reversed bad ground and so on. Its SSP 50 xl if you are wondering. Got some good revues.

Hello friends This weekend will be out first time out in our new open range light 31bhs. I only have 15 amp to it in the driveway to keep the battery charged and run lights . just wondering what to check for after hooking up to 50 amps. I know to test the water heater on lp and electric.Look for leaks underneath.Test both ac units and furnace. Can you offer some small things I might overlook?

Need help with blindspot mirrors

Greetings all . I stepped up to a 31 ft travel trailer from a 28 ft.I cant believe the difference in making my back ups and turns. I live in a village where I have to swing wide to make the turns at the end of the block.I need to see more of the side of the camper when turning as I am afraid of scraping a stop or street sign ect. I have a Silverado 2500 hd with the large tow mirrors that extend. There is a convex mirror on the bottom but its only good for watching the wheels. Is there a small mirror I can attach to the top of the housing to see a wider range? I see some universal strap on types but I don't know if they would fit the Hd mirror.I don't want to go wider I want to go on top. any ideas?

slide out seal lube

My new camper has the long leaf seals unlike my last one which has a square seal. I watch the leaf seals fold under and I wonder if I should use the spray lube on them?

RE: Storing ball hitch

He wants to pull the pin and pull away . I don't see a problem with that but you need to take all the tension off and It will be very hard to re hitch that way. If you have spring bars they need to be removed first. I personally unhitch the camper then remove the hitch and set it on a block of wood.

RE: Hitch weight high

If you have the proper spring bars that is ,rated for your trailer tongue weight and gross rate you should be ok. Adjustments might need to be made on the ball height and spring bars. There are great videos on youtube that explain in detail how to measure the tow vehicle and set up. As long as your tow vehicle has the capacity of your new camper you will be ok.worst case a new hitch and bars
