RE: rental theft or voluntary parting

but anybody who will rent out a $4500 camera to "earn" $95 deserves to be stung. bumpy As always not enough info. Could have been $95/hr or day?

RE: Is it just me?

I have a small 4x6 trailer. Sometimes I get so frustrated I back it in by hand if it's empty. I can thread a needle backing the 30' TT

RE: Siri Tells Good Jokes!

I googled it :) "Make me one with everything" is the response given by a Buddhist to a hot dog vendor who asks him, "What can I make you?". The joke is a play on words, as the oft-quoted Buddhist "motto" is to "be at one" or "be at peace" with everything natural in the world.

RE: Pink stuff froze

I experimented with the stuff years ago. I could mix it 50/50 with water and it would freeze almost solid and not expand. Makes for great ice packs, lasts as long as the cooler packs. Fill up some water bottle and give it a try. 50/50 We had a bad storm and lost power for three days. It would have been cheap to have two or three gallon jugs of it frozen solid in the freezer chest.

RE: Does a snowbird travel around the 'warm' or

Take your time and forget about destinations. It's the 'getting there' that's fun. Some of the best sights and adventures we came across was when we were on our way to some famous place. Slow down & look around.

RE: USB Powered Speakers

I bought these speakers at Staples a few years ago. For the money they can't be beat. If you don't have a spare USB port on the laptop plug it into a charger or battery pack. https://www.cyberacoustics.com/store/Products/Speakers/CA-2988

RE: Prestone rv pink antifreeze

Over and over again, every year with this debate. The antifreeze does not have to stay in the pipes all winter, it's used to displace the water. I winterize, de-winterize the same day. Leave some in the traps only. Antifreeze can freeze solid but it will not expand, so... -30, -40, -50 are basically all the same.

RE: Help from people who use bumper pull trailers

One thing for sure. The shorter the trailer the harder it is to backup. I have a tiny utility trailer and when it's empty it's easier to unhook and do it by hand.

RE: Shaky pole style table leg - updated

Did you WOMP on it. Line everything up and give the table top a good solid double fisted thump right over the leg. Often that's all you need.

RE: Unresolved confusion

3. If people evolved from monkeys, why are monkeys still around. Same tree, different branch.

RE: TPO roof not coming clean

I do it once a year. Use a big rag mop with soapy water and get it all wet. Wait a few minutes then lightly rinse it off with a pressure washer. Nobody sees it except everybody who come to my place. It's parked downhill of a long driveway :)

RE: how accurate are the sensors and propane sensor for levels

Nothing beats the old fashion way. Poor boiling water on the tank. Run your finger from bottom to top on the side of the tank. When it's to hot to touch that's your level. Do it once a day and you'll get a feel for how much is used in a day.

RE: Farewell to Canada

We feel the same way. We've traveled all over, haven't seen it all but enough to enjoy slowing down and staying home. I feel sorry for the people who save the traveling for when they retire. It doesn't work that way. There come a time when mind and body says that's enough. We don't sit around but we don't go far anymore.

RE: Portable Wifi

Good in Canada only... This is what we use at the cottage, pay as you go. Telus. https://www.telus.com/en/on/mobility/mobile-internet/

RE: Canada & Guns

If you are going to the Canadian bush it is worthwhile to bring a rifle. I've spent most of my life in the Canadian bush and only owned a rifle for about 3-4 years, many years ago when I lived in a fairly remote cabin. We have remote cottage we stay at all Summer for the past 16 years. We saw a small bear on the deck for the first time this summer. I shot it in the a$$ with a slingshot. He was very annoyed but moved on. https://i.imgur.com/5JCsHxJl.jpg

RE: Irish Spring Soap as Mouse Deterrant

:) Reminds me of the time a mouse nibble on a bar of Ivory soap. It's droppings all around the soap went from black to grey to white.

RE: Cancer!

A friend passed away last Winter aged 69. He had retired at 55. Got to teach the grandkids how to swim, ride a bike, spoil them rotten. Life is to short.

RE: Irish Spring Soap as Mouse Deterrant

It was suppose to be good to keep deer away from fruit trees. A few years ago I hung a few in mesh bags. They never touched the soap but the trees got chewed real good. The wolves eventually thinned out the herd. Also... As a test I set some mouse traps on top of Bounce sheets. Eventually every trap had a dead mouse in it. From over 40 years of experimenting at the cottage the only things that work are traps and poison. DEET for bugs.

RE: Real Snowbirds

This is getting serious... They’ve been passing over in large flocks every half hour or so.

Real Snowbirds

Saw and heard the first flight of Canada Geese heading south. I think it’s a little early, maybe an early warning. We are 85 miles north of Ottawa. Could be time to kick the tires and check fluid levels.
