Ocala National Forest RV campgrounds and Jeep Trails

Can you guys give your thoughts on RV campgrounds in Ocala? I want to go trail riding there with my Jeep and would like to figure out which RV campground is the best as far as ease of access for a large motor home, hook ups and proximity to the trails. Also what trails would you recommend? Thanks.

Where does the white wire go?

I am working on converting my HVAC over to Dometic controls and thermostat. I have gotten some vague instructions from someone on how to do this. However their instructions left out the zone 2 AC with the heat pump. I have gutted the old controllers boxes and put the new control panels in those boxes so they fit better in the ac unit. My zone 1 & 3 now have the new controls and are running well on the new thermostat but I just cant figure out how to complete the wiring of this controller. This is on a Coleman model 47024B879. The controller part number is 3109226.005. Obviously if anyone has done this change over they may have knowledge on the wiring. Or a photo of the 3109226.005 wiring may help. Thanks in advance. https://i.imgur.com/2ocoUVR.jpg?1 height=600 width=800

RE: Auto Gen feature disappeared? SOLVED!

Turns out there is a fuse called "BCC Ignition". While looking for a blown fuse for the light over my kitchen table I found this fuse to be blown. I immediately knew this was my issue when I saw the word ignition. I replaced the fuse, nothing, then turned the key on and off and the autogen feature is alive and well. Thanks to all that contributed.

RE: Think you can follow instructions?

I only posted this because it shows where RVP wants the sensor and the PITA posted where Dometic wants the sensor. Now he has the old conundrum----A man with 1 watch knows the time, A Man with more than 1 watch will never know the correct time. Doug https://www.airxcel.com/DesktopModules/RvProduct/Pdf/t007.pdf BUT, you proved it! Which was the whole point of the post, NOT to instruct where to put the sensor but to prove it. Thanks for all the kind words.

RE: Think you can follow instructions?

Sorry but the question wasnt where does it go, it was can you prove it. No one has provided any documentation.OK I will say it again. Put the sensor where the ice forms. The actual ice is your proof of where the sensor is needed. Will universally work for all models. OK I will say it again. Prove it!

So the consensus is, opinions without proof. 40 years as an RV Tech and still working. MY explanation IS NOT an Opinion. IT IS FACT. Doug Sorry but the question wasnt where does it go, it was can you prove it. No one has provided any documentation.

Think you can follow instructions?

I cannot seem to find this out online anywhere. I would like to confirm where the sensor is supposed to be. Can anyone prove where it should be? Thanks

Atwood controls replacement hvac system. Have you done it?

Wondering if anyone here has replaced the unsupported Atwood comfort control system that came in many coaches in the 2000's? I am having issues with mine and I was given a 5 page document by someone who did this. I dont know who the person is, but they have a very similar coach to mine and they show how the show did it and even give the part numbers. They had it done at East Valley RV in Arizona. Who ever did the write up states the new system works flawlessly and controls the 3 AC's and aqua hot perfectly. I am finding posts online that state the changeover will not run the heat side of things and would like to confirm. Some of you may remember this document I am talking about as it was a topic on the American Coach Yahoo group. Thanks,

RE: Lippert Components - Not our friends.

Surprising since DIY means do it yourself and thats what I did. I fail to see how this discussion fits into this forum. Moving to General RVing Issues forum from DIY. Barney

NICE! For the heck of it, I sent LCI a link to this discussion. Would be interesting to see how they feel about the subject matter.

RE: Lippert Components - Not our friends.

Agreed, I bought a nylon barb and decided to go with the brass so it would never break again so I probably still would have gone brass even if I had the 3D printer option. Depending on how the piece was made, you may have been able to have someone with a 3D printer fabricate a new one. Just a thought for future reference.

Lippert Components - Not our friends.

Very disappointed in Lippert Components. I have a dual air/hydraulic leveling system on my motor home made by Lippert for Valid Systems. One morning we woke up and went to leave our site. We were only there one night so I leveled on the air system. When I put the leveling system into travel mode the pump motor starting a high pitch and very loud whine and quickly failed. When we reached our destination and I could start to look at things better I took apart the pump assembly from the manifold and then removed it from the jug and found that a small plastic piece that looks very much like a straw had broken off from where it was inserted into the pump. This plastic piece was about 1 inch long and 1/2 inch in diameter. The pick up tube connected to it and therefore the pump and motor were running dry right before it failed. I started dealing with Lippert and was told that they would not sell this plastic piece to me and that I would have to buy their part # 359354 @ $2176.95. This part number is for the entire pump assembly. How nice of them. The little plastic piece could not cost more than a few pennies and I would have been happy to pay a premium for it, but not thousands of dollars. I know I am smarter than the pump so I drilled out the area the plastic part clipped into and threaded it and screwed in a brass hose barb that will never break. Then I bought a new motor from Ebay for $165.00. Put the whole thing back together and it works great. But it still eats at me just how bad they would have ripper me off. My end cost was just under $200 to make the repairs. I wanted to share this for two reasons. 1st because of how disgusted I am with Lippert. and 2nd so that others may find this and be able to help themselves not be taken advantage of. Photos of what I did are here in no order. https://imgur.com/a/mzWmbkk

RE: AC issues need diagnosis

Sorry, I meant to state AUTO/COOL. I would suspect one of the capacitors. Have you checked the upper capacitor box for shorted/burnt wires? Also, have you checked the MOUNT for the Condenser Fan. See if the mount and motor is loose or the mount studs have broken loose. Check to 120 FEED wire to the upper control box. Since BOTH units have the same noise, maybe the installer did not wire nut the Black and White 120 wires securely and they are arcing when the system has a higher amp draw. Doug Doug I have checked all your recommend. THanks for that, but still no luck. Something I am wondering is, the original AC units on this coach were model 47024-879. But someone replaced the two that giving me issues with model # 47224A879. Could this model have a control panel that is not compatible with my system and thus be causing the improper running of these two units? Thank you! The control panel/s stay with the unit. All you replace is the upper unit. The New units are compatible with the original control board. Doug

RE: Need new AC, who's got the best price?

So my AC compressor just blew. Popped its top off and leaked oil all over the place. Now I am looking for a replacement, I am told the model to replace it with is Coleman Mach 8 47024B879. Looks to me like PPL is the lowest cost, but their price is before shipping. Thanks! The internet is your friend. Please conduct a few searches and comparison shop to find the answer to your question. Or do you expect others to do that for you? What I expected is to find someone that may have just done this and might know a good place to work with. It seems I did get that out of this post. You would know that had you read the thread, or do you expect others to do that for you?
