RE: 6.6 liter gas engine

My 2c: I pull 11,600lbs dry, cargo capacity 2,000lbs with a 2014 Ford F250 Super Duty,6.2ltr, towing package, 4.30 rear. Although I'm comfortable with my combination, I would not what to push it up to 15,000lbs (+ cargo, + TV load) as I think that would be taxing the limits beyond what I would be comfortable with. (especially in an mountain terrain)

RE: New to this

OP (new to RV) is asking for suggestion on how to short term full time in a 27 year old (i.e. 1994) used trailer that he has already purchased. He is in Gold River, British Columbia, Canada. Recent weather forecast indicates night time lows -11C (10F). My suggestion is get a motel room for Feb/March. If you want to maximize your RV experience (not to mention your impress your partner) keep your learning curve for warmer weather, hopefully RV dealers/parts dept. will be more accessible to help you with any repair needs. Trust me your girlfriend will appreciate it.

RE: Problem with outside taps in my Cougar 5th

Combination of BarryG20 and Bama 2 should do the trick, consider Silicone Spray vs. WD40 although both work. We walk the trailer through a little silicon/WD40 preventive maintenance exercise a couple of times a year. Locks, exterior connections, spray rubber seals with RV treatment etc. Rather lube vs. replace. GPG

RE: NEVER TO OLD TO LEARN (new tricks)

Thank you to all.. BurbMan, when you say "relieve the pressure on the check valve" are you referring to the Hot Water Tank check valve?

NEVER TO OLD TO LEARN (new tricks)

I have a couple of RV winterizing questions: QUESTIONS: .. - What is the optimum PSI used when blowing out your RV water lines? (Newer trailers using PEX piping) ..- Do you disconnect your LP gas tanks before winter storage? After you securely close your LP tank valves, do you disconnect the tanks to relieve pressure in your RV's gas lines. CURIOUSITY: ..- More of a preference on my part... Do you remove your spare tire cover and store it indoors vs. leaving it out to the elements for the winter months...con's leaves the spare tire open to elements and possible premature weather damage.

RE: KEYSTONE, Cougar front LED decor lights

Thank you for your feedback. I assume the only access is through the docking light in the center of the cap. Are these quick connect electrical or the old style twist and electrical tape. FUNNY no one has ever made a YouTube video showing the process. regards... GPG

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

We are fortunate enough to have two 5th wheel trailers 2014 Keystone Cougar 327 RES which we have now parked and use as a summer cottage and 2005 Keystone Cougar 285 EFS which is easier to tow and park. 2014 Ford F250 Super Duty Weight at an MTO commercial scale (Ministry of Transportation Ontario) Truck steering axle (front) 4,431 lbs Truck rear axle trailer attached 9,480 lbs Truck and trailer combo 16,799 lbs Trailer only while attached to truck 7,474 lbs. Both units were loaded from a return camping trip, two 30lbs propane tanks full, 2/3 potable water in holding tank. Grey and Black tanks empty which is our typical travel configuration

KEYSTONE, Cougar front LED decor lights

We have a 2014 Keystone, Cougar 327RES with two decorative LED strip lights at the bottom of the front cap. (some call them eyebrow lights) Ours are weathered and no longer functional. Looking for some insight on how to remove and reinstall a new set of LED lights. We have not been successful in finding any info on line or on YouTube. GPG
