RE: Dometic Refrigerator cooling

The unit is 2012 model and as stated it was working fine for 7-10 days then the warming starts at around 4pm then by the am its 35 deg again, it will hold all day until around 4pm then the warming starts and progressively get worse until the unit is shut down for a day then restarted then it works fine again; this is not the 1st time it has done this. The unit has an additional cooling fan in the back also. A bad cooling unit would not work correctly at all. You misunderstood what I stated. I did NOT state a BAD Cooling unit, I stated a partially BLOCKED cooling unit. They will operate just fine until the cooling load is demanded from higher outside temps, then they do NOT perform as NEW. After 8 years of use, all those times you parked off level even for 30 minutes or more caused a slow partial block. AND DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU HAVE NEVER OPERATED OFF LEVEL FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. Impossible after 8 years of use, unless it has been parked at the same level site for 8 years. They can only partial block from off level operation or from inadequate of blocked ventilation at the rear CU area. Doug (seen it all in 41 years as an RV Tech) I won't denie that it's never been run off level, I turned it off last night and it warmed to 60 deg, restarted at 5am and it's now down to 43 deg. with a day time high of 92 deg. This is the part I don't understand is after a shutdown then it starts working again.

Dometic Refrigerator cooling

I have a Dometic RM1350 Refer; when turning on the unit works great whether gas or elec. on setting 4 refer runs about 35 deg. freezer is 0 deg. then around 4 pm it warms to around 40 deg. then by 3 am its back to 35 deg. again. After about a 7 to 14 days at 4 pm it warms to 45 - 50 deg. but then only cools to maybe 40 deg. regardless of exterior temp. this is not the 1st time it's done this, any ideas? Cooling fans are running, changing temp setting makes no difference, refer side is facing East, so no afternoon sun I get the feeling it goes into defrost mode and doesn't come out of it completely.

RE: Counteracting bioDiesel

There nothing wrong with running Bio Diesel, its not going to hurt a thing. I have a 1982 Kubota tractor that I bought used in 1982 that had 700 hrs. on it, This tractor has every type of diesel ran thru it, #2, #1, Red off road diesel. I have ran B20 and am now running Propel Fuels HPR in it with zero issues. I have had no seal or hose leaks, tractor now has 1350 hrs. on it. My son had a 2003 6.0 diesel and he used B20 and HPR with zero issues. Does anybody really have issues with Bio that they can actually prove was caused by Bio other that plugged fuel filters due to the cleaning up of your system.

RE: Wells, NV to Bishop, CA

If you are in Wells take the I-80 across to Fernley in to Carson City and then 395 S to Bishop. All the locals told us to avoid Reno no matter what. We drove south and it was perfect once the snow stopped. The route I said cuts off before Reno, been both ways myself pulling 39' 5er and I avoid the 6. Glad it worked out for you

RE: Wells, NV to Bishop, CA

Interstate is probably more conservative... I would go straight down 93 to the 6 into Bishop. Watch the fuel as there are a couple places over 100 miles between fill ups. Go to Wells to the 6?

RE: California hwy 120 between 395 & 6

I have driven it, right out of Benton there is a short steep upgrade with a couple tight turns after that its a nice scenic drive all the way to the 395. I have seen tour busses on that road, so no worries. Ski Pro 3 is on the west side of 395 you are asking about the east side.

Lately my sat is not showing an * by the 110 sat and I'm getting a Direct-tv (HR54-200 receiver) 771 code on some channels but not consistently, does it 1 day then the next it may connect fine. Looking for ideas. The receiver does not require a power inserter at home but it does in the rv, the Direct tv tech after looking over the rv setup told me it would not need the inserter and how to by pass it but I have to have it working to watch any tv. Ideas
