RE: Is the EV transformation of the market over hyped ?

They may find a niche market for some of the vehicles and could be a good idea for in town delivery vehicles, but until there's a vast network of extremely fast charging systems, they'll have a very difficult time of catching on.

RE: Dually tire pressure?

I've always dropped the rears down to 35-40 when running empty. Much better ride and more even tire wear.

RE: Chevy Silverado V6

Had a 4.3 in a work truck back in the 90's that had 200 horse. Good solid motor but not well suited for towing. Its unbelievable the same motor in 2012 would actually have 5 HP less.

RE: Trying to narrow down a short list of SUV for wife

I think you'll be happy with your choice. We've had our 2017 for 2 years now and its exceeded our expectations on every level. IMHO, with its RWD platform and available V8, the Durango is one of the most underrated mid-sized SUVs available.

RE: Ucconnect? Worthwile?

Any Ram owners out there using Uconnect? Ram's pushing a special for 50% off which amounts to $74.00 for a year. Somebody talk me into it or out of it!! I got the same offer a couple days go for our Durango. I thought $150/year was a bit high so I let the service lapse after the initial free year. I might go for it at 50% off. The remote start from your phone is nice here with our MN winters.

RE: 7.3L VS. 6.7L PSD

Even though its outdated, slow, and noisey by today's standards, that engine is legendary and still has a devoted folowing. I can't imagine Ford would have a problem selling a brand new 7.3 equipped truck.

RE: Front Ends - Especially Dodge

The 19.5 rims and tires are adding a fair amount of unsprung weight. This might be playing a role in the premature wear. If you plan to keep the truck, Invest in some good aftermarket parts. I dont have any personal experience, but I've read of others using Moog parts with good results.

RE: Start/stop technology

Our Durango has this annoying feature. Luckily you can shut it off via a button on the dash. Unfortunately, it reverts back to "on" every time you start the vehicle. Will never buy another vehicle with this feature unless you can permanently disable it.

RE: 2020 GMC HD Reveal

Thankfully they chose not to follow the styling cues from the new Chevy. This is actually a nice looking truck.

RE: *** Origina post edited - Dash gear shift knob vs. handle

Our Dodge Durango has the knob shifter on the console. Mechanicaly, its never posed a problem, but I just don't like it. I guess you get used to shifting that way, but I'd much rather have the old style t-handle console shifter. More of a personal preference I guess.

RE: Finally getting an Eagle Cap triple slide 1165!

Nice truck and camper. That's a real clean 1st gen Dodge you have there.
