RE: Batteries drained to dead, what is nominal drain on truck?

I was having a similar issue with our 09 Honda Odyssey. Three new batteries in 14 months all from AutoZone. Each one replaced under warranty. After third battery failed and alternator still checked good I took the van to my mechanic. He replaced the Autozone battery with a Delco battery and ran a draw test for a week and couldn't find a problem. Turns out all of the AutoZone batteries were defective. Our van has been running great for eight months with the new Delco battery.

RE: I drove a 2020 Silverado D/A 3500HD today

I'd love to buy a new D/A but the price, wow. We have talked about getting a used diesel pusher instead of a new up truck and fifth wheel for retirement. New truck and FW would push us north of $150000. Still trying to figure out what to do. It's only money and we only live once.

RE: Slide out awnings

Yes, no cons for us. Nice to have clean slide tops and the slides stay cooler as well.

RE: Electric Fridge, Now That Hole in the Side..

I just used foam board insulation to cover the wall holes and then used black Gorilla tape on the inside of the vent covers to cover up the vent holes so bugs couldn't get in.

RE: Financing question

Call your credit union and get the loan. When we purchased our FW I had the loan ready to go. Once we made the deal, I sent over the buyers order to loan officer and the next day the money was in my checking account and I wrote the dealer a check. You'll still have to listen to the upsell as the finance manager does all the final paperwork.

RE: front hitch

We use a Curt front mount hitch and a Swagman XC bike rack on our GMC 3500. Zero issues with cooling, drove 600 miles one way to Florida in 90° heat and engine stayed at normal temps. Going on five years with our set up.

RE: Dog won't go into RV

Velcro some cloth backing to the backside of the steps. One of our dogs had a similar issue and once we blocked out the gap he goes right up and in.

RE: Assistance with opening bathroom roof vent

Go to Walgreens and pick up a reacher from the medical goods department. We have one to close the roof vent and to reach items to far away

RE: Dumping Tanks in an Empty Full Service Site

We do this all the time when we stay at our local state park. The dump station is a 1/4 mile away and the nearest site with sewer is less then 1000'. So much easier and it goes into the same public sewer.

RE: Electric Lawnmowers

We take a battery powered weed eater and blower with us to the state park. They cannot keep up with the mowing and usually they cannot get close enough to the RV with there mower so I will weed eat the site and blow the pad off

RE: Tote question

When we camp at the lake there are no sewer connections I will dump the black tank when it half full, that's usually about four to five days for us. Once I've done that I will empty a gray to clean.out the poop toter. It's always fun to watch the poop tote parade around 10:00 am.

RE: Purchased TT (undisclosed salvage title came in the mail)

In Alabama the dealer or seller must disclose to buyer that there is a salvaged title. We purchased a car with a salvaged title and there is a special, permanent, decal that does on the drivers side door sill. I'd take the rv back and demand my money back or a nice price reduction. If not call your DMV.

RE: Camping with a baby

We took at 1600 mile trip with our 16 month old granddaughter last month. She loved it. Took her high chair, she slept in our king size bed with us, several of her favorite toys and we were good to go. She had more fun exploring outside and seeing her great aunts and uncles than palying with her toys. Start them early so the love of camping gets in their blood.

RE: CBD oil

I'm one that believes nothing beneficial comes from marijuana. CBD oil comes from hemp plants not marijuana. There is some CBD oil from marijuana which has THC but that is illegal in most states.

RE: Diesel Fill up

Side note...the pumps in the truck lanes pump fuel extremely fast, be careful or you'll get a nice bath.
