RE: Paying for public campgrounds

We pay by check as we don't usually carry cash.

RE: Camping with a baby

We took at 1600 mile trip with our 16 month old granddaughter last month. She loved it. Took her high chair, she slept in our king size bed with us, several of her favorite toys and we were good to go. She had more fun exploring outside and seeing her great aunts and uncles than palying with her toys. Start them early so the love of camping gets in their blood.

RE: CBD oil

I'm one that believes nothing beneficial comes from marijuana. CBD oil comes from hemp plants not marijuana. There is some CBD oil from marijuana which has THC but that is illegal in most states.

RE: storing power cord on new f'ver

We coil ours up and put Velcro straps around it and then toss it in the front storage.

RE: How does everyone transport their kayak

We carry ours on the roof of the truck with a Thule rack and J bars.

RE: Diesel Fill up

Side note...the pumps in the truck lanes pump fuel extremely fast, be careful or you'll get a nice bath.

RE: Add on tow mirrors recommendations

Call your local scrap yards and see if they have any mirrors from a 2500 or 3500 for your truck. You'll like those a lot better than strap on mirrors.

RE: Trailers, Trucks and Toy's Oh My...

We purchased our truck and FW within weeks of each other. When we were ready, we discussed what we wanted to do with our loan officer with our credit union. He took care of everything, just emailed him the buyer's orders and money was placed into our checking account and we wrote the checks. Couldn't have been any easier.

RE: 2015 GMC Sierra Denali-catastrophic fuel pump failure

There is a new upgrade on the market for Duramax that will let you change the CP4 pump to a CP3. The article was in Trailer Life magazine, one of the last two issues. Might be worth checking out if have to come out of pocket

RE: 2015 GMC Sierra Denali-catastrophic fuel pump failure

This is why I won't give up my '08 GMC Duramax as it has the CP3 pump.

RE: Keyless vehicles

The key fob on my wife's Dodge Durango has a key inside it to manually unlock the drivers door.

RE: Your experience with a Dually vs SRW hauling 5ver

We started with a 2007 F350 6.0 SRW pulling our 14000 fifth wheel. The truck pulled fine but handling was not. You could feel the truck being pushed around corners and in windy conditions. We traded out when the truck was costing us to much in repairs and now drive a 2008 GMC Duramax DRW and wow what a difference especially in handling. No more wiggle from.winds, corners much better and ride is overall better. One issue with a DRW is the traction sucks compared to a SRW.

RE: CP4.2 Bypass kit

So glad GM woke up and switched back to the CP3. If Ford would do this I might buy an F450.

RE: Adding a dedicated RV power plug. What would you do?

I have a 50amp receptacle installed for our RV. We use our RV as a guest house when company is here and they can run whatever they need. For the little extra in money go 50amp.

RE: single or dually

We started off with a 2007 F350 SRW pulling a 13600 lb fifth wheel and the truck pulled great but felt wiggly doing around corners and didn't feel as stable as I wanted. We now pull with a 2008 GMC 3500 DRW and the difference in stability is night and day. Once your get use the extra width parking is not an issue.

RE: Proper Protocol for “Complimentary Roof Inspection”

But some 4" Eternabond tape and seal over all of your joints and sealant. Follow the directions and you won't have to worry about failed sealant again. I did this to both of our FW's and in five years haven't had to touch it.

RE: Camping season

I didn't know there was a camping season.

RE: Camp site width?

Pulled farther forward than you think you should. When backing, as you've noticed, the turn starts slow then goes quick. Once you figure that out, with practice, it will become easier. I can back my 42' FW into tighter spots than my 8' cargo trailer. Find a large parking lot and set up five gallon buckets 12' apart and practice backing. I have small orange cones I lay down for the path I want to follow when I'm by myself and backing into a tight spot Good luck

RE: retreval from mud

I would call a two truck to help. I know I wouldn't want to keep moving several sheets of wood every few feet and loose the momentum as well. For the $100 or $200 The tow would be in and out before you can lay your OSB down.

RE: Anyone have auto get start for their coach?

When you have a power failure your RV does not go to 110° instantly, it would take up to eight hours depending on outside temp and if you have any shade. I park our 42'FW outside in the sun all day, in Alabama, and it very rarely gets above the outside ambient air temperature inside. Your puppies will be okay for several hours without A/C.
