RE: blocks for leveling under jacks and tires

We carry 8 pieces of pressure treated 2 X 10 all in 1 foot lengths. Generally this is sufficient to address any really unlevel sites. We only put blocks under jacks that need additional length to level.

RE: Chaser and Chasee

My wife and I prefer to spend our travel time together so this would be a "no go" for us.

RE: Awning Motor

Check how much voltage is getting to the motor, I had low voltage. Over the eff last year I have replaced the battery and the converter! No more isdues. Sounds like low 12 V voltage to me too. How old are your batteries? Have you checked the water levels? I would start there.

RE: Drawing water from a lake

I plan to fill my fresh water tank with lake water. How can I do this to ensure safe drinking water. I would go to your local public health unit, obtain a water testing kit (in most cases they are free), get a sample of the lake water and submit it for testing. This will tell you if it is really safe for drinking.

RE: Slide Out Issue

Does your TT have a battery disconnect switch? if so , it may be in the off position and not charging the batter?

RE: Maxxair Vent Covers

I went with the Maxx Air Fanmate for the fan cover, and their 6 year Warranty. All their covers are constructed of high density polyethylene with maximum UV inhibitors, they cost less and last longer than the Fantastic Vent Cover I have 4 other Maxx Air Covers on my RV that are 7 years old and show no sign of chalking or brittleness,it sits outside here in sunny So Cal. I have to agree! I have had Maxx Air Covers on my vents for over 10 years and they still look new.

RE: Slide Out Issue

What year and model of MH or TT do you have? How old are your batteries? Sounds like a 12 volt low power issue to me...

RE: Heading to Mt. Rushmore

I just checked the Mt Rushmore KOA and for June 7 - 9 they still have some back in sites but most pullthru's are already reserved (Except for the deluxe patio sites). If I was you I would reserve now.

RE: Generator etiquette

how late is it okay to run your generator into the evening? And are generators in MHs more quiet that setting one up outside a TT? Generally quiet time is 11-7, so one should try to avoid running a generator past 11. Sometimes it is too hot to avoid. Yes, generally MH built in gennys are substantially quieter than portables. Especially those large Champion inexpensive potable ones. Those will keep the whole park up at night. Saw one guy place folding tables around, up against his to create a sound barrier, made a huge difference.

RE: Blue Beacon Truck Wash and paint protective film

We have a 2010 Winnebago Suncruiser which also has a paint protection film on the front (not sure if its the same film as yours, sort of a clear vinyl). Our Suncruiser has been thru many a Blue Beacon Truck wash over the years and we have not experienced the issue you have or any others. Of note, I have never used any cleaner or polish on this film, just soap and water.

RE: Water lines are killing me

Seems odd to have these many problems with water lines all at the same time. Just wondering if you winterized the system correctly last fall? Did you use antifreeze or just blow it out?

RE: peak traffic times in cities

Goggle maps. Turn the traffic setting on and you can see which roads are jammed during rush hour instantly. If you review over a few days you will be able to determine best time to cross,,,

RE: Various Rv types and wind

Our Class A is somewhat affected by wind but not to the extent that our class C was. Our class C was 30 ft and between the wind and trucks passing, it was work to keep straight!

RE: Salesman trying to talk me out of a Class C

I hate to agree with a salesguy but he is trying to do you a favor. In my personal experience Class C's drive and ride like a moving van. Class A's drive way smoother and nicer.

RE: Ontario Canada scraps travelers medical coverage

Not really a big deal. If you consider that previously Ontario would only cover a very small, insignificant portion of the out of country costs, and that you needed to purchase out of country coverage anyways, this change has almost no impact.

RE: how often should the chassis be lubed?

Ours is a 2010 Itasca Suncruiser. According to the manual the chassis lube is due at every oil change. Also the PowerGear levelers require lubing at the same interval.

RE: Starke Fla & 301

No biggie. The bypass is not finished yet so just stay on 301 thru Starke.
