RE: Heat coming out of vent in floor?

Your coach heater is on. This is an auxiliary heating system to warm the coach in the winter. Check your toggle switches on the dash, should be one for coach heater. High will be up, low down, off in the middle position.

RE: Possibly upgrading from TT to Class A

I loved that combination on my coach. The engine and transmission worked well together and had plenty of power in the Western mountains. The engine is thirsty so expect somewhere around 8MPG on flat land while towing. Agree whole heartedly! However on our 38 footer wish I could get 8 MPG. We're lucky to get much over 7!

You could stay at Washington DC / Capital KOA. I just checked and they have several 30 amp sites available.

RE: Ways to Save on Fuel at Pilot Flying J

We just follow the pump instructions. Swipe our VISA CC, then our GoodSam card. Pump aplies the $.05 discount, then says remove handle and select grade. Works at every Flying J and Pilot station.

RE: ONAN 5500 Grand Marquis fuel pump & filter

Just Google "fuel pump for marquis gold 5500 gasoline/hgjab", and several links will come up including Amazon.com which lists replacements starting at just over $20. Same for the carburetor. Amazon lists Cummins 5410765 Onan Carburetor Kit as the replacement.

RE: Does Your State Require a SBS

Why does this matter and who cares? Its just irresponsible to tow a vehicle without a supplemental braking system in place. Just do the right thing and you won't have to worry about it.

RE: Towing speed

We generally travel no faster than 65-67. Have had no issues no matter what state we've been in.

RE: Class c overhead marker lights/lens

Any Winnebago dealer can get them for you. If you don't know a Winnebago dealer near you, go to WinnebagoInd.com to look up. The Sunseeker isn't a Winnebago product, its a Forest River product. Oops,,,,my bad!

RE: Rock Guard To Protect Toad

I don't have one and don't have any chips either on my toad. I suppose if you have a nice toad and the skirt is cheap, then I'd say it's worth it, but frankly, I don't really see the need. agree. been towing since 2003 with nothing but the OEM mud flaps behind the MH tires. i wouldn't bother at all. X3. We have been towing for over 20 years, no chips!

RE: Miles per day.

generally we try not to drive more than 300 miles a day. Around 270 seems perfect. we like to hit the road around 9am, stop for a late breakfast, and be off the road no later than 3:30pm. Works for us.

RE: Cheap Gas along 401

We often pull off at exit 566, Marysville, drive south a few kms and fill up at Speedway . Usually save 8 cents a litre or so. No issues. Everyone gets the cheaper price. No ID card needed.

RE: Quebec Route Advice

Best and fastest way thru Montreal is to take 40 east to 13. 13 north to 640. 640 east to 40. 40 east to Quebec City, keep going to Saguenay area. 20 south of Montreal will put you in the middle of the worst traffic.
