RE: Gasoline/Diesel Shortages

I bought gas this morning in Broken Arrow, OK and was the only car there. Same with other stations nearby, only 1-2 cars. While driving away, the radio had a 'breaking news' story that "many stations in Tulsa area are out of gas." Where do radio stations get their news?

RE: New Montana purchase

That is a cheesy, insulting, effort to guilt you into buying. "After all we've done, walk thru, etc.".. You are lucky the finance guy ignored you! Now you can go elsewhere and be treated with respect and courtesy.

RE: What is the Passport America plan

Discount don't apply everyday. Most are weekdays only, not in 'high season', and usually are not valid the days you want.

RE: El Paso, TX

Bucky is incorrect. The town on the TX/NM stateline is Anthony.

El Paso is not in NM, but is in Texas.

RE: Are damage deposits at parks customary?

Maybe the RV park has your name and history in their computer. Your reputation has caught up with you, as you often post about "problems" you have while RVing.

RE: Nightmare

You really didn't give us ALL of the details. When you bought the damaged TT, did you ASK the dealer for a quote to repair? Did you take the TT off the lot or not? What does your contract say re the damages? Please tell us the rest of the facts.

RE: Reno NV to Coos Bay OR

We spent a couple of quiet nights at an RV park south of Alturas, CA. near the 'town' of Likely. Don't remember the name but google it. It had a golf course, a cafe, and super quiet country atmosphere. Don't miss Crater Lake, if you've never seen it. Plan on plenty of time to drive the entire loop. Fascinating story. We stayed at Collier Memorial S.P. south of the lake. F-H, shade, decent sites. We ate lunch at the inside/sit down/full service restaurant at Crater and had good food and service. Not the snack bar deck. The little town of Bandon, S. of Coos Bay, is very nice and peaceful. Good restaurants, shops, and farmer's market. Scenery is great. Several so-so rv parks but also a St. Park right at edge of town. Enjoy your trip!

RE: SAFECO

Sometimes ins. companies want to limit or cease writing certain lines of coverage in a state because of various factors. These factors could be their overall experience with that type of policy and their loss ratio, could be a result of political actions, societal, etc. If they notify the state ins. dep't. of their intent, the state tells them that if they want to do business in the state, they have to offer ALL lines of coverages or they can't do business. The ins. company then simply raises the rates so high that people will not renew with them on those lines of coverage. Problem solved.

RE: Leave TT Unhitched?

Yes, people will 'respect' your stuff.....and then take it! You don't have to worry about the honest folks, just the others.

RE: RV At Dealer for 90 Days Now for An Awning Replacement!!!!!

I lost our awning in a hail storm and called my mobile RV repair guy. He stopped by the next day, measured, and we decided what fabric I wanted. He ordered it and the next week he came and installed it. Very easy, efficient, and cost effective.

RE: Where to stay near Johnson City TX?

I am not a fan of KOAs but the Fredericksburg KOA is very nice. Lots of big shade trees, pool, FHU, and nice mgmt. We have stayed in the very back part and it is totally quiet.

RE: Camping World Coburg Oregon OK ?

Camping World, like all big companies, has their corporate culture start at the top and trickle down to all locations. It is their M.O. to say anything to get the customer in and then they forget about you. Read the numerous posts about them holding customers rigs for months before they get to work on them, and then not doing a good job. Go with the law of large numbers.....you don't see lots of praise for their service.

RE: Cougar 29rld vs Vibe 28rl - Rear Living Trailers

Because of the horrible low-quality of the Cougar, I would avoid it. You'll thank me later.

RE: Buying RV from a far away dealer

About 15 years ago, I bought a Nash TT from a dealer 800 miles away. It was a leftover at the end of the model year with an extremely low price, and it was exactly what we were looking for. I drove there, it was perfect, so I bought it. WE NEVER needed warranty work. Four years ago, we bought a Cougar TT (biggest mistake in my life) at a local dealer. Took it on a 3 night shake-down trip, had many problems. On the way home we took it directly to the same dealer with a list of problems to be fixed. They told me to drop it off and they would "check it out" in a few weeks! So much for "buying locally" and warranty work. We took it home, called the factory and they okayed using a qualified mobile repair service.
