RE: Recent "improvements" to the web site.

I have tried for 2 days to use trip planner and all the site will do is try and sell me a membership. I too am a life member. I don't think those idiots know what they have done or how to fix it. I tried to check my account and all they will let me do is sign out.

RE: Catalytic Connverter

Call your local muffler shop. I was told last month that California was easing up on after market cats as of August 1st. Don't know how true it is.

RE: Helper springs or air bags?

If price is no object, air bags would be the best way to go. The problem with air bags, you will need a air compressor, a controller in the cab, (to adjust the bags hight) and the air bags with mounts. Then you have to hook it all up. I removed my bump stops and installed Timbren Suspension System. It took less than a hour to install. The bottom of the timber sits one inch above the axle so it will not change the ride of my truck. Once I load the 5th wheel, my truck squats a little over a inch. It is more stable side to side and no maintenance required.

RE: Help with zirk fittings

Years ago I bought a 5th wheel with grease able hubs. I fallowed the manufactory recommendation, jacking tire off the ground and slowly turning tire as I greased the hub. Took about a half a tube per hub. The following year I pulled the drums off to check brakes and found 3 of 4 brake shoes had grease on them. I called Dexter axle at the timed spoked to a tech, who said the the grease able hubs have been around a long time. They were designed for boat trailer, to push water out of hubs. The RV industry had jumped on the band wagon as a selling point. His recommendation was to inspect once a year for possible grease by-passing seal. You can take your chance on brake shoe contamination and not stopping when you need them or do it the right way and hand pack bearings. My trailer brakes are to important to me to take the easy way out and just pump grease into the hub and hope the seal won't leak.

RE: AirConditioner Discharge Openings

Before you add a second AC, check out RV Airflow System. It will boost the ac duct output by 40-50%. I just installed one, but it hasn't been hot enough to really see how much faster rv cools down. I did turn fan on and the air coming out of ducts is much much better.

RE: Level Mate Pro

The whole reason to use the Level Mate Pro is to help level the RV side to side before you unhook. It will also tell you how much front to back. You can move little back, maybe forward or move little to one side to find a better level spot . It tells you how much leveling blocks need to level RV. You don't do this with your slide out. Once level and unhooked you put out your slide.
