RE: Holiday Rambler Break Controller Wiring

Hopefully the new HR manufacturer put the plug on the left side of the steering column… 5 wires in a white plug for 6.

RE: Torn between two used Class A need help

The FR 5er my son had was a POS. Supposed to have aluminum framing except the entire back rotted out and no aluminum 4’ up either side. A rubber roof would be a deal breaker. A month in Fla during the winter can turn into 3-4…buy more MH than you think you need!

RE: The price of new trucks is beyond comprehension!

And there’s only 5% inflation today l. A 1964 half dollar coin is worth more than $10 today… in 57 years a dollar is now worth 5 cents compared to what it would buy in 1964. A millionaire used to be a rich person but today you have to be a multi, multi millionaire.

RE: Atlanta

Unless Waze routes you differently we go straight through, often in the HOV lane and yes, when you get to Atlanta, you need to speed up. There are several places where the 2 right lanes become exit only lanes so I wouldn’t use the right hand lane.

RE: HarvestHost......anyone using it?

A friend didn’t renew his HH as he was tired of drinking so so wines. I probably will not too as this past summer I only used it once. Arrived at another one at 3 PM (spent $60) but continued on as it was to early to stop on our trip West.

RE: F550 based Super C - anyone but THOR.

How do you remove the cab of a Ford in a Super C to work on the engine?

RE: Glenwood Canyon I-70 mudslides....!

Shadow57, you can use the 3500 to push you over the passes. :B;) From IN I would use I-70 as it’s in pretty good shape. From CO Springs I’d take I-25 south Walsenburg and 160 to its end in at Tuba City, AZ and then to the N Rim before Bryce. Wolfe Creek pass (south of South Fork) is one of the easier passes. Sounds like you can use I-70 on the return home after taking 12 from Bryce to Capital Reef… Yes, you can do 12 in a RV.

RE: Late Snowbirding/ full timing

Until Dec 27th you should be able to book some sites in the Keys/Marco Ft Myers area. Canada will probably shut down again so you may be able to finds cancellations in January. Do not use campground guides, use Google and the various town as many CGs do not need to advertise in them. No need to go further than Marathon in the Keys with the RV… day trip to the fruits and nuts capital at the end of US 1.

RE: We had to go to Kalispell....

Out west, in the mountains , I do not mind paying $70 per night (one night/week and usually on Sunday) since they have a short season. I agree $100 per night, especially in a new park that’s still under construction, like I paid in Alpine Wyoming this summer, is a rip off. Only reason we stayed there was our daughter and grandes had booked it plus it was warm enough that we would have to run the generator 10 hours Boondocking further away..

RE: Route planning help

The CG app RV Parky shows low clearances. Stay off of 16A.

RE: Tow Bar connection to F150 Tow Hooks

I’ve thought about building one using 2 Pintle hooks to attach to the tow rings. https://i.imgur.com/kFwx0QVl.jpg Also thought about using these hooks. https://i.imgur.com/2qexHeol.jpg

RE: Towing a 42 footer… What do you think?

GO FOR IT, especially with stayin in one spot for long times. Recently went from a 42’ DP to a 45’ and in the summer we stay mainly in Public CGs without reservations. Would say this summer was NOT as busy as last summer in CO, WY, UT.

RE: Kanas City, Ks to Yellowstone National Park

There is alot to see along the way if you get off the interstates and try some of the US highways and primary state routes. Did you miss the # of days he has? I made the mistake of getting off the Interstates last month. Met a over width load on a narrow 2 lane with a 6” drop off… no shoulder. Surprised I still have a a driver’s mirror as the widest part was at my mirror height. Scrubbed the sidewall of R front tire on a narrow bridge across the Ohio when a 18 wheeler was taking more than his half of the road… have never scrubbed a tire that bad before. Thought the windshield was coming out when meeting trucks with a closing speed of 120 mph on those lovely, narrow, scenic, rough, rural roads. Not a slow learner and used the Interstates to get home…I-70 is in good shape Denver to St Lou…never got below 55 although most of scenic Kansas was done at night, the 2nd best way to see it. #1 is from 30,000’.

RE: Kanas City, Ks to Yellowstone National Park

You can forget Dubois and Red Lodge… to far away. My personal best to Moran Junction in the Tetons from N GA is 48 hours but I left at 6PM and stopped north of Nashville (Clarksville Cracker Barrel) and again in N Platte, NE. Last month we spent a week east of Moran and day tripped to Yellowstone (no delays at the south entrance). This summer was not as busy as last summer. If you are into dry camping PM me. I would suggest Interstates 75, 24, 57, 64,70, 435 bypass around KC and 29 cutting the corner on 2 to Lincoln (don’t go all the way to Omaha to get on I-80) getting off 80 in Rawlins, WY and 287 to the Tetons. Other than 24 in KY (only place it became stop and go) the roads are pretty good. If just one person I would suggest flying into SLC, Billings, or Denver and renting a Class C.

RE: Injection pump

Doubt you’ll put on enough miles for the ceramic plungers to start failing…300,000+.

RE: Maxx Force 10 Engine

Yes the 13 is worse than the 10 but both give lots of EGR problems and DPF problems. There’s a reason the price is good. With a complete EGR and DPF delete, it’s a great engine.

RE: 2006 Holiday Rambler 40PDQ How to start the Air Conditioners

Assume the “ power switch “ is the sliding switch on the bottom of the Tstat which turns on the 12V power. Water pump switching is 12 V power. Backup camera is 12V. Sounds like you’re house batteries are dead or turned off. Do the lights inside work? Is the power switch by the door turned of… may have a cover that makes it hard to activate?
