RE: Montana Front Living question...does the bumper hit often
I once had a 36ft Mobile Suites and it came from the factory with built in skids at the back. Only dragged on the skids once coming out of a rediculous steep and short gas station exit that I should not have used. Pure operator error.
I agree that "this guy" either had a poor set up or operator error in where he was taking his unit.
RE: Towing with a dually or single?need help please
I recently towed a 40ft, 14000lb Mobile Suites for thousands of miles with a F350 short box singe rear wheel. Did not ever experience a problem with stability, sway or anything else. Truck was V-10 gasser and more than up to the task. Just let it rev, that is where it works best.
RE: CDN Snowbirds getting their RV's across....
There is a service operating in my area where people can fly from Burlington Ontario International airport by private helicopter including pets to Buffalo Executive Airport and your car will be trucked to Buffalo and waiting for you there. Then on to the drive to Florida in your own vehicle. $1900 Cdn. Seems to be working as the heli company is well booked.
RE: Outdoor Storage and Snow
There are thousands of trailers stored outside over winter in heavy snow areas and they seem to be ok. Just look at all the trailers sitting on dealers lots all winter and they are not cleaned off. You could do more damage clearing the snow off than just leaving it alone.
RE: Best Method of Paying our Seasonal Lease to our USA Resort.
Go to your bank and get a bank draught in US dollars and courier using UPS, Fedex or other reliable service requiring a signature on receipt. I would not ever send anything of importance using Canadian or US postal services. My son sent a priority post package to me from Ottawa to Burlington Ontario. Took 3 weeks. Should have been 2 days.
RE: 2018 equinox
Before even going to look at a new or used vehicle I always download the owners manual and go through it. They are available for every vehicle going back years.
RE: Members who have had by-pass surgery.
My friend Tom had a triple bypass last winter and went back to working as a firefighter about 8 weeks later. Passed the physical with no problem. Of course he was in his early 50's and in great physical shape when the heart attach hit.
RE: Hyway 17. Through Ontario.
Came through Hwy 17 last Saturday and Sunday from Thunder Bay going south with no problems to speak of. Blasting is not an issue and traffic was excellent except for maybe 3 bridge construction lane closures of maybe 5 minutes each. Found no stretches of gravel whatsoever. No reason to avoid.
RE: suggestions where to buy walker with seat?
If you are going to be using it outdoors make sure you get one with the larger wheels as the ones with smaller wheels don't work too well in rough terrain.
RE: Asking the cooks! I need new microwave.....
Had a convection micro and was able to cook a very nice prime rib and used it just as we did our oven in the sticks and bricks. A wireless thermometer was very helpful.
RE: I-75 from Florida to Ohio
Just had friends arrive using I75 from Ocala to Detroit and cross back to Canada. Said traffic was very light even through Atlanta.
Recreational Border Crossing
Canadian Gov has just halted entry into Canada for recreational purposes. This could affect your summer plans for vacation in Canada. Also you will not be able to travel through Canada to get to Alaska if the prohibition lasts any length of time. Good Luck.
RE: Don't come to NH either!
Come on people. You are supposed to stay home to prevent the spread of this killer virus. Sure transporting it from state to state is a good idea.
RE: fifth wheel gas stops
I am pretty much 58 feet in total length and have never had a problem getting gas. Just pick a gas station that has a side road entrance/exit and enter through the main entrance and take the outside pump. When finished just exit the side road. No worries. When that option was not available and it was too tight I just back out onto the main road that I came in on. DW spots and stops traffic and away we go..
RE: 100K miles - what maintenance?
Just go with what the owners manual tells you what to do a 100,000 miles. If you do not have the owners manual they are easily downloaded.
