RE: Front bed dipping with camper help

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The problem is the cross mount was rusted out. The truck is in the shop now and is getting the required strength to support this camper. I understand that this short bed camper is not ideal for this long box. In other news, I unloaded the camper before heading to the shop because they wouldn’t be able to fix the issue. The two front jacks are all bent from the previous owner and found out after a few hours of trying to safely get it off that they also need to be repaired. I had to borrow some bottle jacks and planks to safely remove the camper. Once again, thanks for all the feedback.

https://i.imgur.com/udVBkLhl.jpg I think I found the issue, rusted out mounts on the right side I have no option unfortunately to leave the camper anywhere so hopefully I make it to the shop. I’m in the middle of nowhere with the closest shop an hour away. Let’s hope I make it

RE: Front bed dipping with camper help

It is a short bed camper on an 8 ft bed. I use the unused space for my gear for work which weighs over 100 pounds.

https://i.imgur.com/mQVKbdpl.jpg I’m thinking it might be the bed supports are rusted out. Going to the mechanic in two days. It’s an hour away, will this be okay to drive?

Front bed dipping with camper help

Help/Advice: I have a 2008 Ford F-250 super duty longbox with an extra leaf spring installed. I bought a 2000 Sun Lite 6 ft camper with overhang. The weight of the camper is far below the capacity for this set up but I’ve noticed the front end of my truck box has dipped noticeably. Most of the weight is in the back of the bed and did not even dip the slightest when loading. I’m wondering the reason for the front dip.... my two guesses are the uneven center of gravity or my front turnbuckles are too tight. How do I fix this??? Is this unsafe to drive?? I’ve been driving on service roads and highways with no issue yet. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.
