Onan Indiana generator stalling

Starts and runs for hour, then stalls. Have plenty of gas in tank. Oil level good. 440 hours in 2006 year. Thoughts?

RE: Roadside Food stops?

I think you're nuts. This Covid ere last thing I would want to do is enter some random roadhouse for a meal. Eat out of your fridge, but if you are desperate for a SYSCO generic meal, I am sure that you can find a place with a walk up window. You can stretch your legs on any piece of land that is not an interstate shoulder. Do not plan to enter anywhere without mask or eat inside. It's either outdoor dining or in the MH.

RE: Roadside Food stops?

Over the years traveling to, and from, Texas we've utilized about all the ways to get meals on the road. It usually depends on what our schedule (if any), location, and whims dictate. We've stopped for fuel and gone in to a sit-down restaurant or fast food joint. Sometimes we'll get a fast food burger and take it with us, eating going down the road. Other times, after getting fuel, we'll pull into a parking space and have lunch in the trailer. And we've also pulled over into a rest area, made lunch, and eaten it either in the trailer or at one of the shaded picnic tables. Depending on the weather, the latter is my f avorite. Hope this helps. Yep we have done it all ways as well.

RE: Roadside Food stops?

Devil, I guess I don't understand. You have a class C correct? Doesn't have a galley with a reefer and stuff? Why are you stopping at places for crumby food. Just bring the good stuff with you. Then, all you have to find is a flat quiet place. Not only will the food be better, but way cheaper too. Did you not provision prior to departure?? Most grocery stores have BIG lots and are easy to park in. If you are traveling the blue roads outside of urban areas, you might even do the kid feed underway. Matt We are self contained in the C for sure and always stock refrig, etc. However, there are times I will want to stretch legs and go sit down for meal somewhere, no just fast food stops...assume places on road/interstates and at rest stops are open and have outdoor seating. I have not been interstate since last year prior to COVID so just asking what everyone's experience is throughout the states.

RE: Thor Four Winds 29G too good to be true?

Got the motorhome! It's in great condition. Some water damage in the bed above the driver's seat but that is about it. He also threw in a free car hauler as well so it was a hell of a deal. Any recommendations on a cleaner for the exterior? It is pretty weathered and could really use some registration. Good luck! Try Meguiars wash and wax.

RE: Thor Four Winds 29G too good to be true?

I have no experience with campers at all. I recently came across a 2016 Four Winds 29G with 26,000 miles. The guy is only asking $25,000. After looking up comparible models, this deal almost seems too good to be true. He claims to have paid $79,000 a year prior for it. What are things that I should be looking for to make sure there are no issues? I have test drove it and went over everything and other than cosmetic things here and there, it seems in great shape. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Cody Wow, seems like a no-brainer to me unless it took water or was driven 22k with no fluids in it. Check exterior/interior close for any bubbles in roof or delamination.

Blind/Shade replacement options

Looking for suggestions on blind/shade replacement for 06' Thor Dutchmen 28A. The old night and day shades have seen better days. Guide strings breaking, etc,... looking for something stringless that has some type of clip at bottom to secure in down position while driving so they are not flopping in wind. Any ideas? Thank you.

Must see in Maine?

We are starting to plan 2020 trips and Maine is on list. My wife and I visited Acadia close to 20years ago and talk ever since about a trip back. Thinking to break trip up with few days on Deer island and a few in Moosehead lake region but not certain. Would be traveling in Class C with 2 teens, 2 small dogs. All suggestions helpful on must see, do, campgrounds, etc

Bad Sam

Currently awaiting roadside assistance. First time calling and not impressed. Blew tire on highway, was able to safely limp off nearest exit. Good Sam customer service said I had no membership only to find out they had 'glitch in computer. Since 1st call it's now 2 1/2 hours. All state called a few minutes ago, guess they were farmed out, only to find out still no dispatch. Edit update- 930pm All state calls only to say no service available until tomorrow morning at 8am...unbelieveable, it's not like we are in middle of nowhere. Edit update- 8am Saturday and Good Sam says nobody is dispatched! Angry to say the least. Now the claim is someone will be here 60-90 minutes. If not then I call someone and pay out of pocket. Edit update- 12pm 24/7 service showed up to throw on spare. We were on road by 12:30. Mary below was helpful and hopefully an explanation of the incompetence we experienced is resolved.

RE: Norcold frig?

Does it cool better on gas? What is the model number? I believe you can find the model on a sticker inside the door. If you remove the outside panel can you see yellow powder? With the outside panel open can you carefully touch the chimney area and see if it's getting hot? N611. Gas no better. Panel was removed. Made sure no wires were off. Did not see any powder. Tubes and evaporator felt warm.

RE: Norcold frig?

? Is it iced up. Does it need defrosting. Where are you and what are the outside temps. What Temperature are you trying to keep it at. I have my Norcold on No. 6. A muffin fan will work wonders if placed blowing over the evaporator coils outside. 0lder unit 2006. Have stat in middle. Has power, no ice up,light is green,in NJ, about 80 out. Odd, and freezer has layer of ice at bottom.
