RE: Duracell Golf Cart Batteries GC 2

I bought 8 Duracell GC2 AGM batteries at Sam's almost 3 yrs ago to replace my flooded batteries. Have had great service from them. Duracell are East Penn batteries rebadged.

RE: Tech info / advice on 5th wheel generator install

I suggest you install heat shield/sound dampener material regardless if it is "needed". If boondocking, you'll appreciate the reduction in heat/noise while running the genset. Dynamat is one supplier of material and/or you can look at marine quality engine room insulation materials.

Anyone pulling a Van as a toad ?

I've been using pickup trucks as toads for many years. I've been thinking about getting a van so I can keep my motorcycle inside and out of the weather. Just wondering if anyone has experience towing a van and if so, what one. Anticipate having to get a drive shaft disconnect to do it assuming a rear wheel drive van. Thanks

RE: Camping Suggestions for Florida Keys

If you head to the Keys, Blue Water Key is definitely the place to go. Each lot has it's own tiki and is very private, but they book up a year in advance. However, if the Canadian border remains closed, that will open up spots that are normally taken. We have reservations for this lot at Blue Water key this winter.

RE: Mister

You can make your own. Do a search on chicken misters. I have a screened in pool and put in a mister system around the perimeter. For that I used PVC pipe and the chicken mister fittings I bought. One key item is to have a filter system ( the chicken supply place sells them) that prevents the nozzles from clogging

RE: Shower cleaners

When we have a rainy day at a campground, I usually do inside cleaning. I first do the woodwork with liquid gold and then get to the bathrooms. The shower gets cleaned and a coat of paste wax.

RE: black tank chemicals

My Trek friends tipped me off to Happy Campers a few years ago and I've been using it ever since with excellent results. I put one scoop in the toilet and use my bowl mop to clean the toilet (and up under the ring) to keep the bowl sparkly and odor free, then flush. I put another scoop in the sink to swish it around to make sure it completely dissolves before releasing it to the tank. My Trek came with a black tank flush system and I added a diverter valve along with a flush spray for the greywater tank. https://www.usautoauthority.com/best-rv-holding-tank-treatments/ https://www.smartrving.net/best-rv-holding-tank-treatments/ https://www.usautoauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/The-7-Best-RV-Holding-Tank-Treatments.jpg height=400 Can't find anywhere what the list of ingredients are- Not on their website, google search, nothing. (material safety data sheet) Happy Campers consists of Zinc salts and unnamed materials. Happy Camper is a highly concentrated monohydrate (which is a fancy way of saying there is one molecule of water per molecule of the rest of the ingredients). blend of minerals and micro nutrients. Curious why they don't tell you what those micro nutrients are. I'm always cautious of products labelled as "organic" and "natural" as those claims are not really regulated and are used a lot in marketing and further cautious when it's really hard to find out what's actually in it. I've wondered what is in there too.... like you, I can't find anything that documents the contents.

RE: Flexsteel

Flex Steel is not bankrupt, they exited the RV business. I've never had any issues with Flex Steel furniture, but have had issues with the material Newmar specified for covering on the furniture. Many others have complained about the shoddy material Newmar put on the furniture. 30% off MSRP is pretty good discount. Sell your current RV yourself, they will just play games with your trade in amount, so you are better off putting an ad on Craigslist and pricing it right to sell quickly.

RE: Florida

... in the intensive care units - some hospitals were at or close to 100%. THAT is the number I need to see come down -Yep. That is the really scary part. Death is tragic for sure, but full hospitals? Really bad news. Back in the day, in small town USA, having patients in the halls were the plan of the day and a matter of routine. Private rooms were for the elite and even semi-private not all that easy to come by, with wards being quite common and for sometimes being the norm. During high school and first couple yrs of college I worked at 3 local hospitals. It was fairly common to have beds in hall ways during busy times. Area population was about 100,000 so not a large town, but not a small town

RE: moving NC to Fl

Depends on where you go. It's getting pretty crowded north of Tampa anymore, especially with the introduction of the SunCoast Parkway. Your auto/rv insurance will be high due to the # of uninsured motorists here. It's about 1/3 of the drivers are uninsured, highest in the nation,so those of us that do have insurance get to pay more.

RE: Simple extension cord

not sure if you have a residential or rv frig. Regardless, should work OK. One thing to consider is if you have an EMS, you should change the input setting to 15 amps otherwise with the 50 to 15 adapter, it with think it's on 30 amp service and will try to power things ( i.e. battery charger) up to the 30 amp limit and will trip the 15 amp breaker in the house.

RE: Savannah, GA or lower SC along I-95

A month or so ago we stopped at CreekFire which is close to 95 near Savannah. At other times, we've stopped at Pointe South KOA, but spots in there are a bit tight . They used to have wine tasting and pizza. These were just overnight stops and not an extended stay to visit the area.

RE: Refrigerator cold air catcher

In looking at your picture, you don't have enough thermal mass in there. Only 1 can of Miller Lite ! more beer and the thermal mass will even out temp changes.

RE: Keeping water out of revoltuon mh engine air intake

On Newmars, the air intake box has a drain so that water flows out before it gets to the filter. I have to imagine your's is the same, otherwise there would have been many people logging issues over the years. Now, some Newmar owners have discovered that the drain tube may have been sealed shut during manufacture and caused problems.

RE: What do you shut off when leaving for a trip

Turn off the water at the valve outside, turn off water heater, turn up AC to 82 or so, secure garage door, put covers on all sink and shower drains, put wrap on the toilet bowls, give the neighbor a gift card for watching the house and keeping the pool filled. We leave for a few months at a time .
