RE: Modifying a new Winnebago

I got one of these from Amazon and it works fine. I put a TV in a storage bay and it stays up during travel.

RE: WH chassis vs Ford chassis handing

Usually the taller the tire the better the ride. Wheel base, overhang and weight distribution have a lot to do with handling and ride. Some WH chassis' are better then others and some Ford's are better then others.

If you mix them the freeze point can't be easily found.

RE: Northern Virginia to Vero Beach, Florida avoiding I-95

We love RT 17, it might take a little longer but only a few hrs. We go that way from time to time because of the change of scenery.

RE: MA to Atlanta GA

We use to take the Tappan See but we go 84 to the new york thru way over to 81. I didn't like the toll they sent us in the mail last time we went the Tappan See.

RE: Old tv to new tv with old flat wire

They make the adaptor that hooks the old antenna to the newer TV. You don't need to get and cut wires on one like shown above that hooks a newer antenna to an older TV.

RE: Tips for choosing and planning your campgrounds

When it's too cold we head south. When we feel like stopping we get off when the sign says camping this exit. We do stop over at places we have been when we are traveling. We don't know what people eat or do in there free time and we like to find that out when we stop. We don't like places that other people say are great and we have found some out of the way places that we love. We are on the do at about 150 or 200 days a year, never make reservations and only found a full campground once in the last 35 years.

RE: Dish receiver problem

Every satellite doesn't have every channel and you are only looking at one satellite.

RE: Where does the weight come from?

When we were looking we found many without much CCC at all.

RE: RV cover over another?

If the roof leaks you should fix it, if it doesn't leak why do you need a cover?

RE: Suggestions for our X-Country Itinerary

It's hard for me to believe that someone would subject 4 children to that many hrs in a vehicle, and plan it all out a year and a half in advance. In my opinion that schedule is way to tight and gives no room for any unseen circumstance, good or bad.

RE: Play in steering wheel

I wouldn't use any after market addons until you fixed what's wrong. It's 15 years old, steering box play, tie rod parts or a front end alignment might make a big difference.

RE: Fresh Water Tank Overflowing from City water Hookup!!

Maybe if you shut off the city water and use the pump for a few days it will clean the debris out of the check valve.

RE: About to retire but need some advice

The place I worked only had a 401k, no pention. I quit a long time ago and do not work. Like said above, why would I quit a good paying job that I liked, and at the top of seniority, just to go find another job and start at the bottom again. The dictionary says retire is "leave one's job and cease to work"

RE: Advice on Satellite Setup

We have had directv for years in the house and use to take a box in the MH. We now have Dish in the MH and directv in the house. Dish is better to work with when traveling.

RE: How will this affect RVing. Very interesting video.

I don't know a lot about cars without drivers or electric car and I won't watch very much that last an hour on the internet. We live half way between New York and Boston and we don't have cell service yet and our part of town has no cable. Our town has no busses and many miles of dirt roads. I don't think much of that will change in 15 years

RE: Hold Mail

The post office can only hold your mail for 30 days, true but we fill out two slips each time we go away. We got a new post master last fall that said that was a waste of paper and filled out one for 60 days.
