RE: Advice on storing in a backyard.

I eather park in the driveway or on the lawn in the back yard. It will kill the grass after about 3 weeks, depending on how hot it is, but it usually doesn't stay that long. If you can drive your truck on it now the camper won't sink in. I will not go in the backyard when the snow is melting because then I will be stuck till summer.

RE: Disgraceful Roadside Assistance Service

So the truck is coming from somewhere to help you and you move so your not on his intended route. Someone else needs help and he is going right by them but you want him to turn around a and go the other way to catch up to you. If you keep moving why do you need emergency roadside service?

RE: Allowing my SO to take our unit for the weekend ?

I would find new friends. They won't let you park in the driveway of there cabin? It cost way less to get rid of my last wife then it would cost to replace the 5th wheel. Tell your friends that you won't break into there cabin until they get there and go when you want or don't go at all Spell check got me again.

RE: P.O.S. Drainmaster valves

I was going to put on a drain master valve because the pull handle was under the TT and I had to pull it sideways and my back didn't like that. The installation instructions say it must be mounted with the motor up which would not work for me so I installed a Valeria valve instead. Installation was easy and it works fine.

RE: Jayco quality work at its best!

The OP said he bought it new two years old, it had been camped in and it was damaged. If it wasn't leaking I think the factory did a fine job.

RE: What do I need to know about air brakes?

There is no air CDL brake endorsement anymore, only an air brake restriction. Years ago there was it it's gone. You take the general knowledge test and the air brake test and the road test with a vehicle with air brakes and you get whatever class CDL. If you don't pass the air brake test or your vehicle doesn't have air brakes you get a restriction on your license. I think there should be the same thing with a non commercial CLASS A B and c, it might save a lot of RVs from an early demise.

RE: Generator Woes

The starter may need a "mechanical adjustment" which can be done with a light blow with a hammer.

RE: Black tank sprayer plugged

agree with the back flow valve and it shouldn't be hard to get to. The line should go up to the valve and then back down to the tank.

RE: Power tongue jack diameter

Measure the jack that's there now. How tight does it fit?

RE: cruise control

Maybe a bad switch on one of the pedals, maybe a fuse.

RE: Spark Plugs for 2000 Ford E-350 SD Triton 5.4L V8 2V

I have an '04 X with a V10, it's the same stuff as the V8. I changed the plugs at about 130,000 and they were still good. I did it 2 years ago so it was 9 years old, yours is 15 years old and I would get them changed if it were me, they have been there a long time.

RE: Backing Up with a Short Wheelbase?

the trick is to get a longer TT, then it will be easier to back up. You need to start turning back before you think you need to. Try to keep the truck and trailer in more of a straight line.

RE: Avoid Certain Areas

Policy mapcost money but should have what you want. Like others have said, watch where you are going is the best thing.

RE: Looking at an X...thoughts?

You pull the trailer with the hitch not the bumper. Our X came from the factory with a class 4 hitch and we pull a trailer that is around 8000 lb. and it has done well for over 180,000 miles. The X curb weight is about 7200 lb and our tongue weight is about 1000 lb so there isn't much room left for stuff in the X. We are empty nesters with a 30 lb dog and we carry three chairs and two bikes in the back and the rear axle is about 200 or 300 lb under rating. If we had a big family I think we might need to find a different tow vehicle.

RE: camper storage help

you only need to drop the floor on that side for a few feet then add another panel to the door. I have seen a lot of old repair shops with a 5 or 6 ft ramp on the inside of the door.

RE: How much wind is too much?

The Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel stops campers and camp trailers and other stuff at wind speeds of 40 MPH.

RE: 2016 Winnebago 33C Limited Access

It surprise me the number of people that buy an RV before they look at it. It's not an answer I know. We have been looking for a class A but we won't buy one if curtain things aren't as we want. What kind of curtains? It looks like my Kindle spell checker likes curtains but I don't have a clue as to what kind.
