RE: 1960s Brands of Shortening .. which were what ?

I'm not that old yet, but when I was growing up most everything came from eather the barn or the garden and fat would get rendered on the stove and keep in the fridge. That was back when people didn't thow anything away.

RE: Anyone install a curtain in a rear living floorplan?

If she doesn't have her own space I don't think you will have to worry about her being around much. I think you should be looking at a bunk house that maybe you could turn into an office or den later on.

RE: Rockwood Signature and Windjammer quality and construction

It might sit for 15 years before you have enough snow. We had our first signature ultra light for 7 years and got a new one 3 years ago. We are gone about 2-3 months twice a year and have had no problems.

RE: Newbie Installing Satellite

My dish box will send a message to the TV that says the box cant find the satellite. In the House I have Directv and it will also send something to the TV when the dish is unhooked from the Box. The OP said "...Sat. Signal out to TV on my receiver to TV on my wall plate." I think he needs to go from the box to the TV if nothing is pluged into the TV he won't ever see anything on the TV

RE: Brake Pads

I too wonder how fast you need to drive to turn 9 years into 14. My 2005 is no where near 14 years old.

RE: Out of level campsite pads

You should fix your slide. I don't think a slide should leak if it's open or closed all the way. The level on the front of our TT also has a mark for every inch out of level.

RE: Newbie Installing Satellite

You don't need any antenna to get a signal from the box to the tv. It should show something. Did you set your tv to the right input?

RE: Walmart Wouldn't Fix a Flat

In almost 30 years of pulling a TT I had my first flat on a trailer 2 months ago. I saw that it was soft while at a campground and when I put air in it and found a staple. I put on the spare and the next day I stopped at a tire shop and had them patch it and put it back on the trailer. It cost me $15.00 and I was in Colquitt GA.

RE: Have you ever seen someone checking tire pressures?

I only check tire pressure once or twice a year unless it looks down so that's why you didn't see me checking. I do look at them every time I stop.

RE: Gray water dump

Times change, when we bought our present house there was an outhouse in the back yard and the kitchen sink had a pipe stuck out the back wall of the house and the water ran into a ditch. Our town doesn't allow that any more. That was almost 30 years ago and we fixed it before we moved in.

RE: Traveling with battery inside

You aren't going to live with it there, just transport it. I see nothing wrong with that if it's not hooked to anything.
