RE: Newbie Installing Satellite

You don't need any antenna to get a signal from the box to the tv. It should show something. Did you set your tv to the right input?

RE: Walmart Wouldn't Fix a Flat

In almost 30 years of pulling a TT I had my first flat on a trailer 2 months ago. I saw that it was soft while at a campground and when I put air in it and found a staple. I put on the spare and the next day I stopped at a tire shop and had them patch it and put it back on the trailer. It cost me $15.00 and I was in Colquitt GA.

RE: Have you ever seen someone checking tire pressures?

I only check tire pressure once or twice a year unless it looks down so that's why you didn't see me checking. I do look at them every time I stop.

RE: Gray water dump

Times change, when we bought our present house there was an outhouse in the back yard and the kitchen sink had a pipe stuck out the back wall of the house and the water ran into a ditch. Our town doesn't allow that any more. That was almost 30 years ago and we fixed it before we moved in.

RE: Traveling with battery inside

You aren't going to live with it there, just transport it. I see nothing wrong with that if it's not hooked to anything.

RE: Buying in CA and registering in AZ - Taxes?

The last o e we got in VA and they gave us temps. We took it to CT and paid the tax there. The last one we got in RI and told them to register for us in CT. We paid the RI dealer the CT tax and they gave it to the CT DMV when they got it registered.

RE: Trailer lights have me baffled?????

Remove the plug from the truck and get a jumper wire for the groung, or jumper cables and hook the frame to a battery ground. then get a jumper and try one contact in the trailer plug at a time. The trailer plug may have a short or the rear lights may have a short.

RE: Trailer lights have me baffled?????

Check how you hooked up the rear lights. Maybe a ground wire hooked wrong. Do you have markers if you remove the rear lights?

RE: automatic transmission shifting procedure

I shifted when I had a standard but with an automatic I let it do it's thing. The computer knows what is going to happen and removes some torque from the transmission when it shifts.

RE: Is it Just Me?? (Campground Websites... Or Lack Thereof)

A lot of campground web sites have old pictures of things to do close by, some kids with face paint or a camper with no one else around to make the sites look bigger. If you know where you're going then you know, if you are just passing thru then who cares, if it's to bad just move on.

RE: A few issues in my first long trip

If you use antifreeze, I don't, you don't pump it in from the tank but from a line right at the pump. You mean if you fill the tank the pump can get all but the last 5 gallons? That's fine.
