RE: Who was this?

If you search 6x6 pickup you will see many, some good and some not so good. 15 or so years ago there was a f150 rack body twin screw in town but I haven't seen it in a long time.

RE: Dish Receiver burn-up

I use a hard drive from a laptop. I had to get a Y cable, one usb goes in the 211k and the other usb is plugged into a usb phone charger. It would not work plugged only in the 211k.

RE: Leveling jacks question

Front wheels off the ground is OK. Rear wheels, not so good. Our manual says drive on blocks first in the rear so park and/or parking brake is working.

RE: Rear skid plate bent on fifth wheel

A 2 inch roller would be 2 inches closer to the ground and would hit even harder then now. Just don't drag it on the ground

RE: Automatic Manual Transmission

It might take a couple tenths off the quarter mile if you had the right setup but I don't think that's what your looking for.

RE: LCI Level Up hydraulic jack leaking - what to do next?

Yes it will lift the trailer, if the leak is on the road side the jack may fall slowly but the other side of the piston lifts the trailer.

RE: Sloppy Tranny

That's how it works, put on the parking brake.

RE: How do you answer when a stranger asks about MPG?

We get about 9 MPH until we get where we're going then we get 32 with the toad. I think we use less gas now then when we both drove to work every day.

RE: Screw Sucked Into Head of Generator

Where did the screw come from? I have seen the screw that holds the throttle plate and the chock to there shafts but always after someone was meddling with it. A screw can't get thru a good air filter.

RE: Pad in your yard

We parked our TT on the back lawn or the driveway for 20 years and it was never on the grass long enough to kill it. In fact our gravel drive is starting to grow grass where we parked the TT. last year we got a MH and I took it around back and parked it on the grass for a few weeks. Only you know what your back yard will do when you park on it. If it will turn into mud when it rains you may need some drainage to go along with the gravel.

RE: Online catalog

RE: Blowout

Tire should have PSI according to weight not just put to max and you could have hit something a week ago and it only failed today.

RE: trailor sway

Is your hitch set up for your old truck or this new one?

RE: Wheel Bearings

All the salesman where I worked had utility trailers to haul equipment. They had the same axles as most TT. We repacked them at about 25,000 miles and never had one go bad. The DOT makes you have a maintenance schedule and ours was every 3 months for the trailers, they only needed to be checked and they were always good.

RE: Breakdown Options

Over heating might make it burn oil, score the cylinders, that kind of thing but only run 1/2 speed? Do you know a place near home, have it taken there.

RE: Driving a class A vs. Trailers

We had TTs for years and just got an A last year. We looked at some that meandered all over the road and some that were fun to drive. Take it for a ride before you sign the papers. I did notice that most of the bad ones had little dinky tires and the ones that road good had 22.5 tires.

RE: Modifying an Excursion

We have an '04 X with a V10 but it's 4WD. We have the 3.73 rear end and pulled a 33' trailer that scaled at about 8500 lb. We have about 175,000 miles and about half that was towing. We did nothing to the X except tighten the steering box when we got it and it always did a fine job. It is only two of us so only two bikes and two chairs in the X and the worst number at the scales was 160 lb under on the rear axle, no numbers were ever over. Yes, sometimes in the Rockies the teach would be over 5000 for several minutes at a time but we could always go the speed limit if we wanted.

RE: Light Connection On 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Just get a 4-Way flat trailer connector. You can get them anywhere and come with different lengths of wire so make sure you get one with enough wire.

RE: RVs With External Gas Hookup

Our 1991 pop-up had a quick coupler outside for the grill.
