RE: underbelly sagging

We ours looked like that a few years ago, it was the gray water tank starting to fall down. Better take a look.

RE: Dish customer question

I think if you can change the service address with your house account you will loose the locals at the house. We have dish pay as you go and we have changed locals two days in a row more then once.

RE: Break Away Cable

If you have a commercial rig and you stop at the scales, the DOT guy does not like it that way. We had a few DOT inspections where I used to work and that was pointed out to the driver. Hooked to the tow vehicle not the hitch

RE: Moving from SC to MA in winter with small TT

If it snows don't pull the TT until they clean the roads. We quite often come home for Christmas and then leave in Feb. LP doesn't last to long but we stop in PA and winterize and use an electric heater. On the road you will have fun, when you get to MA you will be glad you have a place to stay other then the TT.

RE: Brake adjustment questions in the real world

If the trailer never sits and never goes in the water, bearings should go 25 or 30 thousand miles. If you let it set for 3 or 4 months the bearings might not last 2 years. I adj the brakes when they don't work like I want, maybe every 4 or 5 years, but never replaced a set on a TT. At work we changed the electric brake shoes on the trailers about every 30,000 miles, some salesmen were hard on equipment.

RE: Why do you prefer your rig?

Tent, van, pickup camper, kids got to big, pop-up, TT, kids gone, bigger TT, MH. The MH is more relaxing to drive then the truck camper and I can setup and unhook the toad 5 minutes with a drink in one hand. We had fun with all of them but times change.

RE: I'm I the oneyone?

First trailer with ST tires went 11 years next one went 9. I pulled the TT often at 70 or 75. The last TT was only 4 years old but even the nail I plugged never had a flat. Our MH has 8 year old tires but goodyear says they are good for 10. Don't air them up to the max, go by the weight, and leave them alone, most people don't have flat tires. I check them every few months or if they look soft.

RE: New to this. Best weather in winter??? Help?

I quit work 4 years ago and don't know where to go for winter yet. We try a month here a week there and are gone 4 or 5 months a year. It has been fun and we may just keep doling it that way. Every place is different and many would be fine to spend the winter.

RE: Ladders for RV work

I use this folding step ladder. I have the 6' version but there is also a 7' version. It is stable. It folds up very nicely if you have a long pass thru bay - basically a 4" square tube that is 6' or 7' long. I got the 5 ft one

RE: Ladders for RV work

I use one of these I wouldn't paint my house with it but it folds up to about 4" X 4". I got the 5' not the 7' and I can reach everything but the roof, the lader on the back of the MH works for that.

RE: How common is common.

I removed the bottom of our trailer to install an electric gate valve. Ran the trailer for 3 years and across country twice. While part of the bottom was down I was looking around and could one of the straps that held in the gray tank was unhooked, not broken just unhooked. I fixed it, it never fell out but, does that count or not?

RE: Cooking Lobster

And then listen to them cry. Go ahead. Cry me a river? https://youtu.be/2Gn9A-kdsRo ...guess Ella was eating those lobsters with hot sauce....... The lobster cries when you put it in the water, not me.

RE: What do you keep in your RV?

When we leave the house we take the food in the fridge and depending on us going north or south, we add some clothes. We keep clothes, linen and dry goods in the MH all the time.
