RE: 2012 Ram Exhaust/Engine brake question!

Keep the exhaust brake on all the time. It keeps the variable part from sooting up, and freezing up.

RE: Dodge Ram 2500 vs 3500...and SRW vs DRW

Unless you have a lot of children to fill the back seat of that Mega, get the DRW with 8ft bed.

RE: Filter for Converter

I called Parallax, and talked to an engineer there. He said 6 VAC on the output was normal for that unit, and suggested to replace the converter with a 6345 RU. That is what I think I will do. Thanks for the reply's. Happy Camping.

Filter for Converter

I have a 2003 Magnetec 6345 converter inour RV. I measured around 6 volts of AC voltage riding on the 12.8 DC voltage in the trailer. Is there a cheap, easy way to add filter caps to this converter, or would it be better to just replace it all together?

RE: Looking for a reliable diesel truck

An exhaust brake should be standard equipment for pulling heavy with any diesel engine PU. It can and will save you.

RE: 0-20 Weight Oil

0-20 can be synthetic or conventional. Check your owners manual for what it needs.

RE: TV Fuel Pump

We lost the fuel pump on our 2013 Malibu on the day before Thanksgiving. About 42K miles on the car too, and just out of warranty. Chevrolet just came thru today with a decision to pay for the pump as they also felt it was way too early for it to go out. I don't think yours had anything to do with towing.

RE: Dually as a daily driver

If the mirrors fit thru, the back half will too. I just went from a SRW to a Dually. That fact was the biggest thing to learn.

RE: Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

OP here, Wow I didn't know this thread went on this long. I just read the last 6 pages I hadn't seen before. I did buy a new truck. I ran into a great deal on a 2009 3500 dually. I will be doing the deletes soon, but keeping the stuff in case I need to get it smog checked at a later date. It is a much more comfortable drive than the 01 2500 I had.

RE: Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

Most of it's miles will be pulling. I ride a motorcycle most of the time.

RE: Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

I have an 01.5 now, and it pulls great; however, I am tired of shifting. I can not afford to buy a 2015.I guess manly I was wanting to know how many of you had problems with the early 6.7.

RE: Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

I can't afford a 2013, so that's not a choice. I don't drive the truck much when not pulling the trailer, but do make sure it gets driven at least once a week. My choice is between an 05 to 07 5.9, or a 07 to 09 6.7.

RE: Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

Yes my biggest fear is the DPF, and I'm not really wanting to do any deletes.

Dodge cummins 5.9 or 6.7 ?

I'm looking to buy a newer truck for hauling a 5th wheel. For those who have had both 5.9 & 6.7 engines, which do you think is better and why? Right now I'm leaning towards the 5.9, because it has a lot less pollution **** on it. Truck will probably be a 2005 to 2009. Opinions?
