RE: Batteries - simple question

X2 on AGM batteries - my 1st experience with them was on a 2008 camper with Lifeline brand. Traded the camper in 9 years later and still had the original batteries. New trailer going on 3 years with Interstate AGM batteries with no problems. In most cases the batteries on rv's are hard to access to check and water levels plus some build up acid on the posts. With AGM, no water to check and no acid to clean. I wouldn't have any other type of battery on an rv even though they costs more. AGM batteries can be shipped by UPS unlike flooded batteries.

RE: New smoker grill

I have one of these, but without the side shelves. I added big black handles to each side to make it easier to carry. I use it when camping but also use it at home sometimes. Excellent smoker and bbq grill. Love the 3 separate burner controls plus the top rack. I bought the adapter to use the 1lb propane bottles which work great on this unit also.

RE: New Orleans LA

We stay at Reunion Lake RV Resort off of I-12, exit 47 in Ponchatoula/Robert. It's about 55 miles to the French Quarter - down I-12 to Covington and then across Lake Pontchatrain on the causeway. This campground is awesome. Super clean, quiet and all concrete sites and roads. Not the cheapest, but worth the extra costs.

RE: rv show

Definitely call. Two weeks ago, we drove 3 hours to Shreveport La to what was supposed to be the annual Boat & RV show only to find out when we arrived that it had been cancelled. We've been to this show for the last 4 years and never had this happen. Websites were showing it on, but the La State Fair grounds website, which is where it's held at, did not have it listed. Guess I should have called prior to heading that way.

RE: Low clearance - cut this off?

Something doesn't sound right here. When the truck & trailer are hooked up, is both the truck & the trailer level? Or is the rear of the truck sagging? If the rear of the truck and the nose of the trailer are lower, then maybe you need airbags to level the truck backup, which would raise the hitch higher off the ground.

RE: storing power cord on new f'ver

I had the same issue with my 36' 50amp power cord. I purchased a White Ventilated Wire Drawer made by Closet Maid at Home Depot. Size is 17" X 21" X 7" deep. Cost $20.45. Model #6209; SKU #101575. They call it a drawer because it's made to slide into a rack they sell also but it's a heavy duty wire basket type container and is very strong and works great to store this heavy power cord. It's wide enough to coil the cord in and deep enough to handle the long cord. It fits in the storage compartment very nicely.
