RE: purchasing from dealer with a hail "freckled" sidewall

Congrats! I am happy that you are happy. Enjoy your future lifestyle. There's really nothing like RVing!

How did you track the 1st one down? Do that again!

RE: Back in the Game!

Check out rvparky.com excellent source for locating campgrounds in the areas you plan to visit or for stops along the way.

RE: Lithium batteries and microwave use

Based upon the topic title I was going to say "Don't use lithium batteries in a microwave!" :)

RE: Driver’s license for DPs

FL requires nothing! TX requires a Class B certification for all RV's over 26,000#. Training book is something like the last 10 pages of the CDL training manual. It's really stupid and worthless information. This is followed by a driving test at the local DMV. Other State's requirement WILL vary.

RE: class A safety

Bragging about being a BMW tech (over and over again) and believing that this somehow means you completely understand the RV business is quite off putting. Just because I am an expert in say, the internet, does not mean I know anything Comcast cable. You should climb down from your self appointed claims of expertise and listen to some of the actual expert advice that has been offered.

RE: Ongoing Motorhome search

Phaeton's are one of Tiffin's top sellers and are very high quality. However, the devil is in the details! First, Floorplan, floorplan, floorplan. If it works for you, terrific! If it does not you just have to walk away (this applies to every purchase option). Beyond that, service records and a VERY detailed walk through. A professional inspection is also worth the money as the few hundred dollars could save you thousands in future repairs.

RE: Stuck in yard, ruts. Install driveway? Ideas please.

I am wondering why you need to do the repair since it looks like you are at a State Park. Seems to me the State Park should repair it and then, if necessary, bill you. Barney He says he was stuck in his front yard, leaving for a 5 day trip to a State Park.

RE: RVs swept into river in CA

While it's sad to see the RV's hit the water, you have to wonder why the owners didn't just drive them away. The Class A they showed going over has a home A/C units in the bedroom window and the front roof A/C appears damaged ad well. Maybe the insurance claim made leaving it there part of the decision.

RE: How to transfer large video from phone to computer

Assuming you are making the transfer with a USB cable you should have no problem. You will have to get your phone to give permission for the transfer with should cause a pop-up when you first connect with an Allow or Deny option. If that doesn't show up you need to look for something at the top showing USB options or in settings that will adjust what happens when you connect USB.

RE: Lubricant for tow bar arms

Remove the rubber arm covers, clean well with WD-40 and wipe clean. Then use dry silicone to get rid of the WD-40. Reinstall and secure the rubber boots and you are good for another year or 2.

RE: Pilot credit card needed ?

concur about their high price. Get an Open Roads EFS card if you need diesel and save a ton. If you own a diesel vehicle, this ^^^^^^ !

RE: Verizon or T-Mobile

I have the 55+ plan as well. However, the Magenta plan costs more and adds additional services.

RE: T-mobile Voice mail

All you have to do is dial your own number from your own phone and you get to voice-mail. Enter your password and you are in. By pushing and holding the 1 key you will get to voice-mail with saved passwords.

RE: Potential purchase of MH

I am still betting it's a scam. At least all you will lose is the cost of your airfare. Why not have them take pictures of the RV in front of this trucking company? I promise is a a thing any trucking company does all the time!

RE: T-mobile Voice mail

Somehow you lost the auto log in feature. Go through the setup routine again and use the setting that says "Don't require my login when calling from this phone" To the other poster saying the announcements are to long and detailed, there is also an option in the setup routine to not announce and of the details and you get only the message.

RE: class A safety

Pretty sure BMW has is own agenda and all the suggestions, advice and goodwill is not going to change that. I drive a Prevost so there are NO ride or handling issues. The difference is that Prevost built the whole thing from the ground up!

RE: Potential purchase of MH

This is a pretty typical scam. Please do not fall for it. The money will be held where and by whom? Why would someone who could sell their RV locally risk having to pay shipping in both directions when you don't like it? In one case, the RV listed was that of a friend of ours. We talked to them and they were no selling. Someone had just taken some pictures from Facebook. This is 100% a scam. Run! You are guaranteed to lose whatever money you send.

RE: class A safety

BMW, not sure why you are not interested in listening to the good advice given. Just because you want someone to condem Ford foe something that's not their fault does not make your assumptions correct. If you like what you have you should get a proper alignment. If you are uncomfortable with the coach you now own you should get rid of it.
