RE: Help! A/C only works when below 100°

Try cooling the whole thing down with some water from the hose. Also check to ensure there is no blockage of the outside cooling fins. Remove the top cover and check to ensure there is nothing blocking proper air flow as well.

RE: Fuel Mileage on 8.1 Workhorse

Why do we keep getting MPG questions? If you do even the most simple search you will find something like 1000 posts on MPG. None of them mean a dang thing since everyone has a different way of calculating this number (with generator, without generator, traveling East, Traveling West, Headwind, Tailwind and on and on ad nauseam). MPG is, by far, the least of all of any RVers concerns when it comes to cost of ownership.

RE: Help adding satellite to my RV

The outside cable connection is intended for cable only in many RV's. It's hard to know how it's wired unless you can get hold of a wiring diagram. As mentioned above, you can remove the power supply (not a booster) from the wall and find the coax marked cable. Disconnect this and and a coax extension to this with a barrel connector and connect that cable to the satellite receiver. If it works then you are lucky and have a direct run from the outside connection to the wall plate. If it does not work then there are splitters between the 2 connections and this line will not work. See if you can find a way to route a new line from anywhere outside (firewall, storage compartment, etc.) to where your receiver is located. If you were lucky and the satellite works while disconnected from the power supply, all you need is a high quality high-isolation A/B switch. Connect the coax that runs from outside to the 1 input on the A/B switch and the 2 outputs will go back to the power supply and the other to the receiver. Now it's a simple choice between using park cable or your satellite antenna.

RE: King One Pro satellite dish

Like all domes, this one is also not able to receive ANY DirecTV HD programming and is compatible with only a few of the DTV receivers. It will not work with the Genie. It will also not work with the DISH Hopper receivers. While it can switch between the 3 DISH satellites, it can only point to 1 at a time so DVR's or more than 1 receiver will be problematic. It does do automatic setup between DISH, DTV or Canadian Bell service when you plug in a receiver so no dip switches to set. The clear dome, to me, is questionable as to whether it's an advantage or not. Yes, you can see where the antenna is pointed (maybe helpful, maybe not) but it will also allow things to get quite hot inside which may or may not have an effect on the electronics.

RE: USB head question

Move the SIM to an AT&T router and be done with any Mobley issues entirely. I wish you had post a day earlier, I just threw my Mobley and power adapter in the trash. My SIM has been in a Netgear router for years.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Should not be cringe worthy. This "box" is not the sink. This is only the "form" that I am making to glue the sides of the actual sink together. The "sides" of the sink will be glued around, but not to, this form. No, there was no confusion. We both understood what was the form and what your future intentions are. I am sure it will look good but you will still have a wooden sink covered in fiberglass. With the understanding that you will likely not complete this in my lifetime, I can well understand why you build a wooden sink when you could save a dramatic amount of time by buying a sink of the same basic size and shape.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

This is one of those cringe worthy moments after showing the wood sink idea to the DW. I wonder how it will ride on those upcoming wooden tires.

RE: The big anti virus lie

I do practice good av management, never click on unknown links do not open any links in email that you did not expect Hopefully, that means you clicked on the OP's link and you still don't know what it went to.

RE: Windshield covers

Shade Pro inside shades do not work nearly as well as those installed externally. Additionally, the MagneShade is NOT "the same hassle" as the snap on's. I have snap on's and they work for me but I don't have a super tall windshield like many of the newer RV's. For those, the MagneShade can be installed safely while standing on the ground. You would need a ladder to install the snap on's. I like both as they both perform substantially better than the inside stick-on units.

RE: The big anti virus lie

The reason I don't click on random links like this one! Best way to get a Virus.

RE: 50 Amp plugging into 30 amp service

There are also adapters that will allow you to plug into 30 amp campground plugs (rarely available, but there are some) and use your 50 amp plug with that. You still don't have 50 amp service but you would have 30amp service on each leg (so nearly 60 amp if balanced properly). 50 amp cheater adapter This generally will not work if you plug into a 30 and a 20 if the 20 amp circuit has a GFCI as it will usually trip immediately.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

I like having the windshield covered AND being able to see out so, for me, that's the mesh screens secured to the outside of the windshield. However, when we have really hot days high 90's+ we also drop a blackout shade inside the windshield which reduces the additional heat pretty dramatically.

RE: Towing Capacity

Because my wife doesn’t like the Jeep. Happy wife, happy life. Really? None of them? Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, others (I hate the Wrangler as well). Of course, Jeep is not the only other option. There are a plethora of cars/SUV's that are towable 4 wheels down. Sorry, hope this does not distract from the OP's original topic.

RE: RV navigation systemsl

Throw out the Garmin style GPS. Your smartphone and Google Maps and/or WAZE is all you need. Additionally, the information on Google Maps is years ahead of anything available on the standalone GPS's. As an example, I-70 here in Denver was closed for the weekend and Google Maps showed that closure and the correct route to avoid it. This would be impossible with a Garmin.

RE: Winegard 360 replacement

The Rayzar automatic has 2 TV outputs and works great on both TV's. You could also add a splitter to power 3 or 4 if necessary. The dome on the roof has 1 coax output to the power supply input and 2 outputs for the TV's.

RE: RV Mattress

Texas Mattress Makers and Denver Mattress both make custom RV mattresses. However, you are going to need a tape measure to determine the size (length, width, height) that you desire. It might not be the same as you have, which is the beauty of the word custom! Try different types of materials and thickness so you won't have to do this again.

RE: Winegard 360 replacement

I had the Batwing on my previous coach and was disappointed that my new coach had the Rayzar Automatic. However, I have been very happy with this antenna compared to the Batwing. Is it as good? No, but it's pretty dang good for a dome antenna and I don't have to worry about the wind or about remembering to stow it. I did change the roof setup to include the mount that raises the antenna about 12" above the roof (less interference from the A/C units). It is a directional antenna with a rotating antenna inside the dome so it performs substantially better than any of the omni-directional antennas. You know.....equally bad in all directions......

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Tank and tank connections leak for a lot of other reasons other than cold. Not YOUR tanks, but certainly other people's tanks.
