RE: Any photographer using Sequator for stars...

Not 100% sure as I can't get to that site from work. First, go to your Downloads folder. You'd need to unzip the files using either Win10 built-in uncompressor, or Winzip or 7zip or some type of file extraction/compression program. Then browse to the files using Windows Explorer after you've extracted them - find a setup.exe or possibly an MSI (microsoft installer file). Doubleclicking should run it. Can look later when I have access.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

We lost Murphy a week ago today. This time last week, she was still alive. I went home around noon time to check on her and she was really panting and having trouble breathing. The last time I saw her on our dog room camera was a little after 1:30pm. She got up and got a drink of water and then laid down out of site of the camera. When Donna got home at 4:30, she was gone. I am really having a hard time with her death. Donna and I don't have any children and she was like a daughter to me. I know time will make things easier but right now I am really having a hard time. August 29th 2017 we lost our doxie. He was the first one we raised from a pup together. Time may heal wounds but it's tough. My wife visits her friends and their dogs and kept busy. We agreed to get another one but it's tough to find a rescue doxie. That'd be my preference. She has also been having medical issues for the last several months. Keep your happy memories alive, I took video of our pup with his bowl and plates. Hopefully this is ok to post. the plate chase bowl flip

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Richard, please call a doctor - the older you get the less your max heart rate should be, 170 would not be good even for me at 56! My wife is diabetic as well and we keep Powerade Zero around all the time, it has electrolytes in case something were to screw up her sugar or electrolyte levels. Same idea as Pedialyte really.

RE: Any couple fulltime in a class c?

you may have forgotten about this thread In any case, I have no pertinent thoughts, but my opinion is that class C's typically have less space than a travel trailer or 5th wheel. If were to consider fulltiming, I don't think I'd pick a class C. Tows less than a full size motorhome, costs about the same as a motorhome, need a toad if you want to go see things. My personal opinion is still the same, I'd fulltime in a TT or 5th wheel.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Tesla is not the second most valuable car company on the planet. The 10 most valuable car companies in the world. Toyota Motor Corp. ( TM): $211 billion. Tesla (TSLA): $106 billion Volkswagen AG (VOW.DE): $80 billion. General Motors (GM): $52 billion. Daimler AG (DAI.DE): $49 billion. Honda Motor Co. ( HMC) $42 billion. BMW (BMW.DE) (BMW.MI): $42 billion. Ford Motor Co. ( F): $36 billion. I finally sold my GM stock yesterday. After holding it for 5 years all that I have to show for it is the dividends. No, I did not buy TESLA. I am not quite as optimistic as some people but I do plan to buy one in about a year. ? Wish you'd post links. Even Teslarati says differently. 3rd most valuable. Very possible for it to jump to 2nd. Also very possible for it (although unlikely) to come crashing all down. :P click

RE: New Ford 7.3 Gas

I’m planning to get back to truck camping by fall and spend a lot of time seeing the country. Life is short and I’m not getting any younger. I’ve had many trucks and campers and have been a loyal Dodge/Ram Cummins fan. However, with the cost and complexity of the new diesels I’m considering a gas engine. I like simple, basic and reliable and the new Ford 7.3 seems to be that engine. With old school cam in block design, it’s about as basic as they come. The power numbers seem pretty impressive (430 hp/475 to) and it makes over 400 ft/lb of torque below 2000 rpm. The 10 speed transmission will make it even better. It adds about $1700 to the standard gas package so about $8k less than the diesel. It’s also a lighter and smaller engine due to the design which will help payload. They are starting to show up at the dealers but it’s a new design so really no long term reviews yet. I would likely get the DRW and would prefer 4:30 gears but may have to order as 3:73 seem to be common. I’m thinking the only negative is the fuel mileage but the new diesels aren’t getting what they used to and gas is much cheaper as well as the $8k savings of buying a diesel. Also, no $10-15k out of pocket cost to replace the fuel system when the pump fails and contaminates the entire system. I was really disappointed to see Ram switch to the CP4 fuel pump for 2019. This may be a great TC hauler. Out of curiosity, doesn't the 6.4 Hemi with 410/429 tq meet your needs? you could still stick with Ram. They'll run a little cheaper too.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

I put my money in the competition and now have a Bolt EV. Out of curiosity, were you able to find any other EV's to test drive or was it more that it was easier to find? How does fit and finish look? That's the 60 Kwh battery pack too, right? I still want that Hyundai Kona...if Hyundai will ever sell it here at a price point I can afford. Health issues are diminishing that possibility now.

Humans are good at doing but suck at monitoring. Computers are great at monitoring, they never get distracted or tired, yet we keep trying to make it the reverse. The only problem we have with computers...is that people program them.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

I know all of you that worship Elon. But advertising "autopilot" and that you will have software to make your Tesla a "autonomous taxi" to make your money back, and NOT BEING ABLE TO DISTINGUISH STOPPED EMERGENCY VEHICLES is horrific in my mind. Yes, it was driver error based on advertised "safest vehicle in the world". Unbelievable how some of you rationalize your beliefs. I have values.UMMMM... No. There are no self driving Teslas. Plain and simple driver error. Tesla clearly requires all drivers to stay in control. You must be the person that worships Elon and Tesla if you believe the vehicles have more capability than they do. killed a few quotes... The main problem as I've repeatedly stated is Elon. Tweet, tweet "autonomous taxis this year", "full self driving soon", "semi in 2018", and of course I paraphrase because I don't feel like proving to you that he could be some of the cause of the stupidity. Also because he WON against that poor cave diver. What a class act. Anyway, here's tesla's own site. If people don't read... click Here's the other half of the equation. People DON'T read their entire manual. When you buy a car, and wind up with a 350 page plus manual (yep, Jeep Cherokee) or capability to view online, a lot of people will just ignore some of the manual. So of course you'll have people ignoring things they should read. Still the manufacturer's responsibility to phrase it correctly and Elon is not much help there. I have to ask, is it just the media or do Tesla's get singled out because of their hype? I mean, there are other cars with driver assist features, surely those people must not read either. Where are all their crashes? My father has a Grand Cherokee with some type of lane follow/center feature. When it's on, and set to the highest setting, it will move the wheel to stay in the lane. It's a bit unsettling, if for example you wish to pass a State Trooper on the side of the road, the wheel will almost jerk itself out of your hands. An example of a learning curve perhaps.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

One of the expected designs is a 100 to 150 mile 20,000 commuter. My guess is it will happen by end 2020. While I applaud Tesla doing that, my only question is WHY THEY DIDN'T DO IT HERE. All along they went 35k for the Model 3 and said they were losing money. If they can afford to lose money on those, I don't know why they didn't offer a model 3 for 20-25k. I mean, used 2017 - 2018 Leafs around here with a 90 mile range or whatever they are - STILL around 20k. I'm curious how they're going to be making money, even though it's manufactured overseas.

RE: CPAP and CBD oil

How the heck would anyone know what you're carrying? Especially old white people in an RV? ha. Although I agree with you, it depends on your personal level of risk and avoidance... Cruises are another place where CBD oil is not allowed. Period.

RE: CPAP and CBD oil

My wife takes CBD oil for pain relief. I checked into it, and the US labels it as having NO THC, or the minimum THC which is .3%. If it is hemp-derived it should not have much, but that still could be too much. I am no expert on traveling with it (working on that,as we are going on a cruise) but Mexico could very well have difficulty with it, even if it is labeled "without THC" if it has a chance of containing it. edit: for those who wish to read up on it...google is easy enough, but here's the gist of it. click

RE: Chrysler UConnect

what kind of issue? We've had to update our Uconnect once. Worked fine. Although the documentation did say to be careful or something. In terms of what it does, the bluetooth connection to our phones work great, it reads texts fine, but the voice recognition is somewhere below Amazon's and way below Google's voice recognition. I never use it. The maps are ok, google maps on our phones are better though. And in terms of remote start, the fob works great. Issuing a remote start command through the app takes much longer, but it is handy when you're not sure if you've forgotten to lock your doors in a large parking lot... I have never tried Sync but my neighbor doesn't like his much. Still, his is free.

RE: Just for you Gritdog 30 mph backwards

That's pretty darn good. I've never backed up a gooseneck but can do a longer trailer like you show in the video. Maybe not 30 mph, lol. No way could we do that with a short trailer. You got skillz!

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Yhe EV subsidies do not fall into the same catagory.... Not giving them out will not change our military one bit. It is just s flat out drain on our taxes... Using this as an excuse to not pay your shre of road taxes is ludicrous. Do you really think we would be in the middle east if there was no oil there?Short answer.... Yes Agreed. And the longer answer isn't suited for this EV discussion.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

I think in the last few pages we've devolved from a Tesla semi discussion to skirting the edges of political...military has little to nothing to do with EV's. Thankful for the block feature.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

So does anybody know what "1/4 mile record" exactly means? I can say that with my car too. I set personal records all the time. Is that what that means? If so; LOL Yes, exactly. He beat his own personal "Tesla" Record. Edit: I forgot to mention his own "Patches" car turbo Mustang is running fairly well too, although he tends to focus on anything that makes him win :) 2nd edit: Added a video with a no prep race, he lost that one bigtime. click

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49223210833_6f076f48f3_z.jpg video Full size Tesla blows the doors off a Mustag GT in a 1/4 mile drag race ! You really have to be careful when comparing or posting those videos. I've been following the Tesla Racing Channel since its inception. That kid is smart and a good racer. But that Tesla is the "raven" edition that has been stripped down to almost nothing. The biggest thing is, that kid *does* lose occasionally to faster ICE cars. Electric motor instant torque gets him off the line fast. That guy he raced in the video did not get off the line fast at all. I have seen videos where the ICE car comes back and just kicks the Tesla's behind. We can all agree that Tesla stripped down racing edition in the video is fast with little modification. The other thing he used to complain about was that he could only do 8-9 passes without worrying about the range to drive the car home. I think he solved that by just trailering the Tesla to the track :) Keep looking at some of his street racing videos. There's a few where he loses off the line. Fun to watch.
