RE: Tow dolly empty - 1500 miles

Did it once 900 mi., would not do it that long again. Bounced all over the place. If you do drive with it empty, stop and check hitch hook up, mine droped a bolt and it almost came apart at 500 mi. Not trying to scare you but be careful, I stayed in the right lane all the way fron N carolina to Boston.

RE: Tongue jack collapsed, TT nose crashed down - ouch!

Happned to me once, just missed my foot, no time to react it came down so fast. Jack wwas up to its max when it fell. Best to be arms length when pushing butten or crsnking. Mby there should be a warning on the lift.

Looking aft used trucks - "?' flood damage

as looking for a used truck, about 3 years oil, I noticed under rear very clean, the break lines looked as if they were new with clean tages, on them, and weld seams had rust on them, like new rust. Also inside the tail pipe was clean with rust spots. any way to tell if its from a flood area and been clean up. And does it realy matter.

Master Tow Question

Bad move, let someone borrow my tow dolly and bent he plate the front tires sit on, I removed the plate (had to cut the 1" bolt off) and repaired the plate, have a new bolt and lock nut. Someone told me to put grease on two pads the plate slides on, is this required, I think of cleaning with breakclean?

RE: Trying to diagnose a loud rattle coming from the floorboard

I don't know if this the same thing but my MH sounded like symbols. It was the shields , I bought "S" strips, cut and drilled holes pushed them all around the edge of the shields, screwed self taping screws in and that was it. Hope his helps.

RE: Replacing awning on MH $$

The price was on a Dometic Manual, an electric one is bout twice the price, plus I do a lot of camping in NS Canada, a lot of wind off the water the man. is some what stronger. the good thing about ele. is my wife can push the button but she don't like doing it. But anyway thanks for the info. I did buy a 22ft. about 23 yrs. ago for a lot less but every thing was a lot less then. Thanks again.

Replacing awning on MH $$

I need to replace my awning on our Motor home (made a bo-bo and destroyed it) I'm going to install a manual awning instead of ele. First quote I received (not from a dealer) was $743.98 for roller and fab. And $347.98 for awning arm and hardware assembly. My awning is an 18 ft. with 6'/6" arms. hat does not include any labor, as I am going to install it my self. Anybody know where I my get a lower price. Thanks Rob

starting to look at trucks

I'm in no hurry, but looking at used (2016 and up) F150's, looking at eng. size and wondering what would be best a 3.5 Ecoboost or a 5.0 L V8 . to pull a 7000lb trailer (TT) I think I"m leaning towards the V8, to pull over hills in Maine. Thanks Rob

RE: IV Hitch cap.

I think I may have messed up on my posting, 1200 lbs is the hitch weight, I was thinking TT weight, that might be around 8000. let me know if I am on the mark. Thanks.
