RE: Yellowstone roads closed!

It gets tiring hearing all this **** about climate change causing these events. I guess nobody has studied history. Our climate has been changing since the earth was formed. We have had catastrophic weather events as long as the earth has been in existence. Even in the article they admit they cannot point to climate change being responsible for a single weather event. So why mention it at all?

RE: Cold in the bedroom.

If you can close the vents in the living room kitchen area, you can force more heat back to the bedroom.

RE: Not enough room

Like many already stated, when I am traveling into area's I am not familiar with I use Google Maps ahead of time to check things out... I usually have an idea of how far I will go and how far I can go before needing to fuel Looks like you have a diesel tow vvehicle. Finding places to fit is much less of an issue because you can use truck stops a diesel islands at convenience stores. Finding places to refill with gasoline is a much bigger issue vs. diesel You can't use the diesel pumps unless you have an auxilary tank. The high speed nozzles are bigger than the filler on your truck. I have a 40 gallon aux tank in the bed so I can use them.

RE: Any issues having slides on both sides?

We stay at either state or federal campgrounds where there are lots of trees. We only have one slide and we still have to sometimes be careful when we back into a site to make sure the slide doesn't hit a tree or the utility hookups. I can't imagine getting into some of the sites we were in with slides on both sides. And as a few others have said,I would not want a slide on curb side because we too like to sit outside a lot. I guess if you stay in commercial campgrounds with few trees slides on both sides won't be an issue. But the campgrounds where we stay would be a problem.

RE: Looking for quick overnight near Richmond VA

Not sure where you're going to Pa but Pocohantas state park has a nice campground with pull through sites and water and electric.Coming up 95 take 288 to the campground. Then you can get back on 95 or take 64 to 81 into Pa.

RE: leak at connection to drain pipes and Holding tank

Years ago,I broke off the dump valve when it caught on a tree stump. It also cracked the connection where the drain line came out of the tank. I used JB Weld apoxy. I cleaned off the crack in the tank and mixed and applied the JB weld per the instructions. It lasted for the over 2 years and then I sold the trailer.I have used JB Weld on different things both plastic and metal and it always worked for me.

RE: CG Prices

I'm 70. But have had the Federal Senior Pass since I was 62. On our trip to Texas in March,we paid anywhere from $7.50 to $19 for water and electric sites at federal campgrounds. We paid between $35 and $45 at state parks. $35 for W&E and the $45 was for FHU. 1 night at a private campground with FHU was $45. Diesel for the trip was $1700.00.

RE: 2022 campgrounds

WE usually camp in spring and fall. In March we went from Pa to Texas. That was before the big jump in fuel prices. I am pulling a 26ft TT with a Nissan Titan diesel. Our fuel costs for the trip was over $1,700. Now it would be almost twice as much. We won't do that trip next year if fuel prices don't come down. I think many people will forgo the long trips and look for something closer. We booked a forest service campground in Pa for August. We had no trouble getting a site with water and electric. But that was coming in on a Sunday and leaving on a Thursday. We can make the trip with one tank of fuel each way.

RE: Electrical question

You were promised by the RV park that they supplied “good” electrical power. They broke their promise and, I’ll wager, offered no refund. If the EMS has a ground fault circuit then the problem could be with the trailer, not with the campground electric.I have come across a few trailers that worked fine on regular recepticales but would trip a GFI circuit because they have a very small leak to ground. Now if the EMS shut down because of low voltage, then that could be the campgrounds fault or even the utility providers fault. When everyone is running their A/C's,the voltage will drop. And now you have people with electric vehicles plugging in which will make things worse.

RE: AZ 260 between Payson and Heber... expect delays

That's great that they are adding a lane. Arizona usually does a great job of getting these road projects done.In Pennsylvania where we live, it would take years instead of months. 260 is such a nice drive. We stayed at Canyon Point campground 4 years ago. Very nice.

RE: Don't let your guard down, Covid is still out there...

I had Covid early on when there weren't enough vaccines around. It wasn't too bad except I felt super tired for weeks afterwards. So I got my shots after having Covid.2 friends I go to breakfast with got their shots and later both contracted Covid and both ended up in the hospital. I believe having the virus gives you better immunity then the shot alone.
