Missing propane cover

Aloha all: I have a 2007 Roadtrek 170, and recently, some unscrupulous ...person...decided they needed the propane cover (rear bumper) from my Roadtrek more than I. :( Anyhow, I've been looking at trying to replace it, but have been having a tough time finding one, so I think I'll just try to fabricate one instead. That said, my Roadtrek is far away and I don't have the measurements for the cover, so I'm wondering if someone on here could provide me with the dimensions of the cover (height/width), and the depth/size of the cut outs for the wing/fasteners? Even a couple pics with a tape measure on it would be awesome. Thanks in advance. Mike

RE: Purging propane tank

So Mutual Propane took care of it the purging problem...they were very helpful. Truth told, it was ridiculously simple; I had already run the propane tank almost dry, so they just opened the relief valve and drained the rest. Matson didn't particularly care either, but they DID want to see the certificate of purging; once I handed them that, it was all good. Again, thanks for the suggestions from everyone...much appreciated. Mike

RE: Purging propane tank

Good news, I found a company near Long Beach that does the propane tank purge/certification. For the next person who runs into this conundrum and googles a solution, Mutual Propane in Gardena, CA; they've been great to discuss this with and said it wil be no problem. I'm crossing my fingers...I'll update the thread when this actually comes to pass (in 3 weeks). Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions; this is exactly what these boards should be about! Mike

RE: Purging propane tank

Thanks RJS. You cut through to what I was clearly not making clear (purging an existing tank). I continue my search for someone who can do this (along Highway 40 between TX and CA), I hope that someone sees this and knows someone who does this work. That said, I am appreciative of the suggestion Doug; maybe it does come to that, but I hope not. Vehicles with integrated propane tanks ARE being shipped; therefore, someone MUST be purging/certifying them...finding them is the task at hand for me. Thanks again

RE: Purging propane tank

Thanks for the suggestions. And yes, since they need it "certified" purged, just empty isn't good enough. I've tried RV places (Camping World etc), propane places (Amerigas, Titan); I spoke with Matson who gave me the name of the company that does this for them (Global Propane), who told me they no longer do it and are not sure who might...frustrating. A Hawaii/Guam board is a good idea...someone MUST be able to do this!?

RE: Purging propane tank

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately they need it "certified" purged, so just empty isn't good enough. It's a built in tank, so just leaving it isn't an option, or I most assuredly would do so! I've tried RV places (Camping World etc), propane places (Amerigas, Titan)...getting frustrating. And I wasn't sure about posting in the different groups; since the different sizes have propane tanks I just wanted to cover it off?! Apologies if I've contradicted any rules by doing so.

Purging propane tank

Hello: I have a Roadtrek 170, but since this could apply to any RV, I'll try it here as well. I need to have the propane tank purged and certified that it's purged, as I am going to ship it via Matson, and that's what the company requires. I have been calling all over TX, NM, AZ and apparently no one can do this...which seems crazy to me. Anyhow, just to be clear, the tank is fine, it doesn't need to be re-certified, just certified purged, so I am looking for someone who can do that. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Thanks. Mike
