RE: Valterra waste gate seal

Should I slather silicone grease on them too?

Valterra waste gate seal

Just replaced my old grey 1.5" waste blade valve along with some abs pipe that was cracked leading up to it. They really cheap out on the rubber for these new seals. The new valve is dripping slowly past the seal to the main waste outlet (not around housing). Should I really crank the 4 bolts down on this thing till it bows?

RE: Magic Chef Stove identify

Serial number help scroll down it gives a breakdown via serial number for serial number. Ahh yes I tried this and it would indicate my model is a series 10. However the diagrams for 10 don't match.

RE: Magic Chef Stove identify

Yes trying to replace leaky burner and defective ignition flash tubes. Series number is not present on label. Only model and serial. Long shot since they seem unavailable anymore but at least I have peace of mind thay I've got the right part numbers. Probably just have to replace the whole stove.

RE: Slab sinking

You are lucky it's just a slab. One corner of my home foundation has sunk, as much as 1/2" depending on the season. From what I read it's going to cost $thousands to have it jacked up and stabilized. Contractors.... Haha. Actually I *think* I have that problem as well. 100+ year old brick home. Helical piers anyone?

RE: Slab sinking

What is coordinated pipe? Do you mean corrugated pipe; if so, and it is under the section that is sinking, it may have collapsed. Actually I meant to say perforated pipe. I have looked down from the side where it comes out on the slope and looks ok. Will try my Depstech scope for more details.

RE: Slab sinking

I had my driveway raised by the injection method. Very happy with the result, and it was a lot cheaper than I expected. Would you mind sharing any more details?

RE: Slab sinking

Sure a little uneven don't bother me. As long as it's not going to move enough to cause issues. I have heard of polylevel something. I think foam injection that lifts concrete? Maybe cheaper than other alternatives?

Slab sinking

I have a relatively new concrete slab that is about 23 by 13'. It is built on a bit of a grade with coordinated drainage pipe underneath. It really is two pieces, 12x13 each. I noticed the side closer to the slope sunk about 1/4" to *gasp* 1/2" near the center where they meet after backing up into it and then changing direction again. (There is a perpenducular crack in the center to so it isn't sinking evenly) Any thoughts?

Onan microlite 4000 wire routing question

I am putting my Spec E generator back together but can't remember where to route this black 110v hot wire to the breaker switch through. Does anyone know if it just goes with the other harness below the control and regulator plugs on the shield? Or does it go on the bottom through the bristles, or elsewhere? Thanks

RE: Let's talk Dana 80 axle temps

To the best of my knowledge , this is a full floating axle that is oil bathed. With an idea of some average temps I would gain peace of mind until I am able to pull the cover + shafts and inspect the hub bearings along with diff.

Let's talk Dana 80 axle temps

I've noticed my rear hubs are awfully hot to the touch this summer after cruising at no more than 50 mph for an hour on the highway. No dragging brakes here. I am going to get a contactless thermometer soon. Dana 80 rear, Ford says 9,450 lb on the GAWR rear, is this derated?

RE: Magic Chef Stove Burner repair or replace?

It also seems to be coming (the flame) out of those small holes where the flash tube (another rusted component I can't find) connects.
