Magic Chef Stove Burner repair or replace?

Have an older ('98) Magic Chef Stove and the front "high speed" burner just started creating a flame from the bottom up where it shouldn't be (where red arrows point in picture). I removed the burner and some rust flakes fell out when I turned it upside down and shook. What is going on here exactly? It seems the propane is leaking from the bottom and creating a flame where it shouldn't. Can it be repaired? The closest part I found is in Canada is used and costs over 50 shipped. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/a519/Rustytierod/20220626_175555.jpg width=640 https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/a519/Rustytierod/20220626_175547.jpg

Pulling new heater duct

Looking into replacing my old smelly heater 4" duct pipe. Is semi rigid metal pipe acceptable substitute? The only other selection I found at the "box" store was some spiral wound "foil" pipe that feels weaker that the original existing. Also, the sections running to the bedroom and bathroom I was thinking of pulling the new in with the old. Is this a good idea? My concern is what looks like the existence of nails under the floor that might puncture the pipe as it is being pulled. I believe it was all open when originally assembled on the "jig."

RE: Low point drain valve question

If you've got fresh connected to city water why are you not using the city water direct to the pressure washer? This would be for instances where I do not have the "city" hookup.

RE: Low point drain valve question

Come to think of it I don't believe that the ball valve on my backyard spigot is even full width of the connecting pipe inside when wide open

RE: Low point drain valve question

I'm using a gas washer that runs just south of 3gpm. I'd NOT be relying on gravity feed and would be running the water pump. I just replaced the city rv water connection so I'd rather not fool with that.

Low point drain valve question

Does anyone know if these "little" valves provide full flow when opened completely? I've got standard 1/2 pex lines from 1998. I have a male garden hose thread to pex adapter that I was thinking of attaching on the underside so I could use it to run my pressure washer instead of running a new line to the outside. Is this a bad idea? Thanks!

RE: Atwood water heater drain plug tightening

Just a tip: If you need a new drain plug for a Dometic/Atwood water heater and there's no RV shop handy, a CPVC plug from a hardware/big box store will work fine as a substitute. Oh, and another tip: Always buy two plugs and store one right in the water heater cabinet. Otherwise you'll never remember where you put it when you need it. ;) It seems like whatever I REALLY need is never available ?? in a "store" I could not find cpvc in this fitting size at the big box!

Atwood water heater drain plug tightening

Please correct me if I'm wrong anywhere. So I've got some "OEM" atwood plugs for my water heater that appear to be without any taper (I've read this is apparently normal for what I'm told these are -- "soft" nylon). Several wraps of PTFE tape and I'm tightening with no felt change in resistance. Besides a leak or damaged plug, is there any way the tank could be damaged? Got about 30% thread left exposed on plug.

RE: Magic IV Toilet sealant

Sounds like a cool idea, of course in this case it can't be scraped off really once it's together...I could swear they didn't do a symmetrical job from the factory by the looks of it when it came apart

RE: Magic IV Toilet sealant

Yeah I have to throw some in there more often. WOW what a pain putting this toilet back together. Getting that arm aligned into the hole with the spring, etc. I started joining the seat edge end first together before the tank end pressed into the butyl. (I was trying to get them to join simultaneously).I'm afraid it shifted slightly before the tank end pressed together. How forgiving is this butyl? I started working with an IMMACULATE mating surface but I actually had to separate it once and then put it back together again (repacked the groove flush with butyl but didn't completely clean). I'm worried there might be a leak.

RE: Magic IV Toilet sealant

Very interesting design. So it looks like if the flush/ overflow tubes leaked they would just drain down to the black tank instead of running over the floor. Genius. How does the tank regulate pressure? I'm a little confused. I did do a thorough cleaning as there were 2000 dead fly larve in that "airspace". Can all those moving parts be replaced without dissembling the two halves? With this "two piece" design if full enough, is it possible the black tank could "slosh" forward and up into that area? Guessing maybe that's how it became so dirty.

Magic IV Toilet sealant

With the Thetford toilet here I wonder, how is this thing designed? There is a float where the water valve fills the reservoir. What is the point of the reservoir? Is there line pressure at the connections for the flush tube? I think I read somewhere else someone used butyl tape to seal their two halves together. There is a Thetford "sealant" but it doesn't seem to be available... Would this be suitable for the flush tube connections?

I see no conjoined components or suggestion of where it should be placed.

Using photobucket. It must be the forum because your message read exactly as follows: How are you trying to post a pic? For this site, you need to have an external picture hosting site to store the file. Then they usually have a way of copy/paste the "BBCode" script. I use * image not shown due to your preference setting *
