RE: Forest River Electric Water Heater Issue

Thanks everyone for the quick replies! We didn't know about the outside switch on the water heater so hopefully that's all it is! ??

Forest River Electric Water Heater Issue

Hey everyone, My wife and I just purchased our first travel trailer and we are in love! We bought a used 2019 Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite and we love everything about it. The only issue we are having is with the electric water heater. The gas water heater works great but when we are plugged in to power, our electric water heater doesn't seem to work. The blue light switch inside the travel trailer comes on but we're not getting any hot water, even after leaving it on overnight. We got a great deal on it so I'm not that upset. I'm hoping it's just a simple fix? Maybe a fuse needs to be replaced? Are we doing something wrong? It's a suburban water heater and the person we bought it from only used the TT 4 times. Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Nate

Drop Down Hitch

Hey everyone, My wife and I are going to be buying our first travel trailer in a couple of days. We are obviously new to all of this but have done extensive research on tongue weight, towing capacity, WDH, etc. etc. One thing I'm wondering is if we're going to need an adjustable drop down hitch? We're driving about 3 hours away to purchase the travel trailer and don't want to come unprepared. Should we buy one just to be on the safe side and if we don't need it we can just return it? It's a 22' TT and we'll be towing it with a SUV. The weight distribution hitch and anti sway bars are included but I just want to make sure I show up prepared since we're driving 3 hours to pick it up. Thanks

RE: Jeep Grand Cherokee W/Towing Package IV

Wanderingaimlessly! Thank you for sending me the info on the Apex! I feel like my wife and I have been looking at all the super light travel trailers and we hadn't seen that one! It's a perfect size and just about everything we've been trying to find in a small TT. I think that's the one unless you have anymore recommendations? We like the layout and we need the bedoom somewhat away from everything (or a door that closes) because my wife works nights and I don't want to wake her. Thanks again

Jeep Grand Cherokee W/Towing Package IV

Hey everyone, My wife and I are looking into buying our first travel trailer. Just looking for some advice as we have a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the stock IV towing package. It includes Road Leveling Suspension, HD Cooling and has a maximum towing capacity of 6200 pounds. We are looking into a 2021 or 2022 Grand Design Transcend Xplor 221RB with a dry weight of 5,389 pounds. It would be just us 2 traveling and we would make sure that the cargo weight inside the Jeep and inside the trailer is under the limit as we plan on towing it dry. As long as we get a brake controller and a nice weight distribution hitch, we should be good even if it's pushing around 6000 pounds? It would be for traveling nursing for my wife, so we would only be driving to and from her job every 3-6 months a year. Just wanted some advice before we make a big purchase and regret it later. Our Jeep also has a mopar million mile warranty and the dealer stated that the engine would still be covered as long as we don't go over the maximum weight. Thanks!
