RE: Covers. Pros and cons?

I had a cover on a TC at one time it broke the end pieces of the gutters and the wind ripped it. They are a pain to put on and take off.

RE: Rocky Mountain National Park

We camped at moraine campground the first week of Oct to watch the elk, had a great time. The camp host said the campground will be closed all of 2023 for new water main pipes and they are going to install electric to 60 of the sites.

RE: Hardside TC for 3900 pound payload shortbed

I used to have a 2010 Lance 825 truck camper, loved it but getting in and out of bed was a little tough for the wife. Plus the gray tank was only 11 gallons. Weight was 3000 pounds ready to camp.

RE: a plea for more cool weather sites for migratory travelers

I have a 18rbs trailer and have 370 watts of solar and could very easy put 130 watts more on the roof so it can be done. We camp in the rocky mountains in the winter and solar works great.

RE: a plea for more cool weather sites for migratory travelers

I would install 500 watts of solar and 300 amp hours of battery then you will not need a electric hook up. A DC to DC charger is also nice.

RE: How safe is etransfer - selling big items?

I do not trust any of that stuff, I will meet the person at my bank and bring cash. Also meeting in front of your police station works well.

RE: Schwintech slide system

What we do, put shims under the slide when we travel that way it does not bounce around when you travel, and don't overload the drawers and keep it lubed. Never have had a problem.

RE: Dry camping in SW Utah

We go to Utah all the time, just got back from a 12 day trip of Utah and Arizona. Right outside of Arches National park is a lot of free places to camp. We always go in early May before it gets to hot, the main thing is always check the weather by Vail we had to dodge a snow storm on the way home.

RE: Dry camping in SW Utah

Be careful there is a lot of soft sand in Utah, unless your class A is 4 wheel drive. I love going to the Moab area and south of there, also check the weather it gets hot early.

RE: Tailgate support rack

I would leave the end gate at home and buy the cargo net for the truck box.

I have the Ryobi 900 watt propane generator it works great. I only use it when the solar can't keep up but that hasn't happen in 3 years.

RE: Not a good week for Ford

I have no problem with having a recall on my truck or car, growing up in the 60s and 70s you never heard of a Vehicle recall.

RE: Slide out room props

I use 1 inch pieces of wood under our slide out when it is in travel mode for two reasons, when we stop for lunch we can sit in the slide out. But the main reason is because we go off road on some of the worst mountain trails.

RE: norcold N400 refrigerator

Being 20 years old I would start looking at a new frig, you could spend a lot of money fixing this one and it could die in 6 months.

RE: Jackery 500 versus my RV battery

Everything has a use the main reason we got one was to blow up the kayak down by the water instead of by the truck. I also use it to charge the drill battery's in the front storage bay, also by the campfire to charge phones instead of leaving them inside the camper. If for some reason I would need more power I would start the generator. With 370 watts of solar we haven't used the generator in 3 years and we never have full hook ups.

RE: Jackery 500 versus my RV battery

I have the jackery 240 that I have had for 3 months. I agree you are paying for portable power but I have found a lot of things I do with it. It is nice to have power anywhere.
