RE: It looks like my truck camper days are over.

Bet you had a lot good years in that rig. Prayers for a full recovery!

RE: Michelin commercial tire lifespan

I have Cooper 245/70/19.5 tires for 7.5 years. When I bought them the tire guy said they would last 10 years. So I looked on Cooper's website and they had a page about LT tires lasting 10 years. Sent them an email and they recommended 6 years for RV tires.

RE: Frame Stiffing to reduce Porpoising?

How do you know the frame is flexing vs just the springs compressing? Your truck is as old as mine, maybe the springs are getting tired?

RE: Broken Frame on a RAM 3500

Was there a generator on the rear of the camper too?

RE: Best route from Salem, Oregon to West Valley City, Utah?

Option one, North on I-5 to I-205 to I-84. Bad places are the Blue Mtns in Northeast Oregon. Option two, East on OR 22 to US 20 and US 26 to I-84 near Ontario, OR then I-84. Cascades could be nasty. Option two would be slower option, however it would be my preferred. February is not a good weather time to go. Have to carry chains for TV and trailer. Agree with Option one above.

RE: New Superduty gas engine for 2023.

Looks like they are killing the 6.2L gas and I saw something about enhancing the exhaust on the 7.3L Godzilla. Here are the specs Four engines are offered with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including a new 6.8-liter gasoline V-8 that replaces the current 6.2-liter V-8 and a high-output version of the 6.7-liter turbocharged Power Stroke diesel V-8, along with the standard Power Stroke and 7.3-liter "Godzilla" gasoline V-8.

RE: New Superduty gas engine for 2023.

As to the new engine, I'm confused with 6.8l...seems really close to the 7.3 gas, so why? Maybe they want to obsolete the 6.2L and the 6.8L will be more competitive with Ram & Chev. I know you want this to be a great discovery, but realize that it doesn't make sense unless we're all missing something or they're turfing the 7.3 already. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

RE: New Superduty gas engine for 2023.

why would anyone pay the upcharge for the 7.3l that Ford just spent big money to develop? I see your point but I ask myself the same question about why would so many pay so much more for the 6.7 Diesel. I think it comes down to choosing wants vs needs. Will have to wait and see how this plays out.

RE: 19.5 Hankook DH35 vs XDS2

How many years are people waiting to age-out 19.5 tires?

RE: DRW vs SRW safety, tire blowout

Had a tire incident on our SRW F-350 truck/camper many years ago. Was not a blowout but a slow leak. Took truck/camper to Les Schwab just prior to leaving on 100 mile camping trip. After they finished working on the right rear tire they replaced the hub cap but unbeknownst to me they didn't feed the valve stem through the hole they bent it over under the hub cap. This caused it to slowly leak during the trip. I left directly from the tire store and when I had gotten about 75 miles into the trip I noticed the rear of the truck was weaving on the curves. I pulled over and saw the problem and had the spare tire installed. The tire was ruined and Les Schwab replaced it free of charge. This was before TPMS. I have since upgraded to 19.5 tires/wheels and installed an after-market TPMS on the tires.
