RE: Vancouver Island

Lonnie,
Merry Christmas to you and your British Bride and all the best for 2022. Hopefully we can all get travelling again.
Although we currently live in the Montreal area, I lived in Victoria as a young child and have fond memories of visiting my grandparents there on vacation after we moved away. It’s a beautiful region. :C

RE: Crossing the border a number of Different days --ArriveCAN

You need to complete the AriveCAN input each time you cross into Canada. The COVID test has to be a PCR test approved for travel. If you cross a couple times within the 72 hour window of a negative test you should be fine otherwise you will need a test each time.
Here in the northeast approved PCR test with typically cost $150-$200 per person so it can be an expensive venture. There are likely cheaper tests available that meet approval but with no guarantee of the 72 hour timing.
We live on typically both sides of the border with our permanent address being in Canada, so this whole thing is a bit of a nightmare.

RE: Vax Passports

The OP’s post is about vaccine passports in Canada, there is no HIPPA in Canada.

Several posts have been deleted that were purely political with nothing to do with RVing and crossing the border.
Please keep the discussion relevant to RVing/camping.

RE: Possible Canada boarder opening mid August

The HIPAA (1996) is a US federal law that doesn’t apply in Canada. The reality of it is that if anyone decides to refuse proof of vaccination at a Canadian entry point, they will be simply denied entry.

That’s good news for US visitors but the US still hasn’t opened to Canadians!

RE: Possible Canada boarder opening mid August

I really hope it opens, I haven’t seen my trailer since November 2019 when I left it in storage at our seasonal campsite in upstate NY never thinking we’d be in such a mess.
I always brought it back to Canada for the winter but my storage lot at home closed and I was able to get US insurance on it so I left it in the US :S

RE: If you have proof...

Any posts about the status of the Canada/US border should be related to rving or camping. Lately these threads seem to quickly go off topic and have to be closed.
All posts straying off the OP topic will be deleted including ones that referred to a deleted post.
