RE: I-10 in Louisiana

Thank you for the detailed reply. I take it that there are good gas stations to pull into with a 32’ fifth wheel

RE: I-10 in Louisiana

Thank you for the replies. We will be leaving Florida end of next June heading towards Colorado Springs. I’m trying to figure out which interstate to take until outside of Dallas and then cut though to Amirillo. I had thought about taking I-10 then I-12 until Baton Rouge then go up to Shreveport, then go towards Dallas.

I-10 in Louisiana

I was wondering what the condition of I-10 is in Louisiana . Does it beat you to death while towing? I will be towing a fifth wheel.

RE: pulling fifth wheel with f250 supercab 6.2L engine

You will be fine. I pull our fifth wheel with same truck. Yes it does pull a lot better than travel trailer does. We had only travel trailers for years and got our fifth wheel a year and half ago and will not even think about going back to travel trailer. We have pulled it in smokies and no problems

RE: Slide out awnings

I use the big noodles and cut one in half and tape it to the top of a whole one. It takes 3 of them and I use a small ladder to get up on to slide them under the awning. One has a 3/4 inch of pvc pipe in it that is longer than the Noles to help reach it to get out from middle of awning. I use it on the big slide my short closet slide it is to high up and don’t use one.

RE: Slide out awnings

Yes for all the reasons previously stated. I did however take the big swim noodles and use them to slide under the topper when it rains to help let the water run off and not cause it to sage in a bad down pour. The reason I did this was because I was in a bad downpour and the awnings sages enough to cause the water to run off on top of slide .

I-20 in Mississippi

In the process of planning a trip out west to Colorado was wondering what the condition of I-20 though Mississippi, Louisiana is like. It is mostly smooth or will it beat you to death. I’m pulling a 32 foot fifth wheel.

RE: Refueling

I have a super duty gasser and relay don’t have problems refueling as previous person stated on avoiding certain places because of parked cars. I have found that a lot of Pilots or Loves have plenty of room to turn. Also when we get below half a tank the wife will start lookkng for stations and look at satellite view to see if it looks ok to get in.
