RE: Wish us luck, pray for the marriage

A couple of years ago my wife and I did a 25 day trip to the Yukon in a 17 foot Hybrid. We really enjoyed the trip and survived each other:) I was keeping a list "Of things I learned" on this trip and DW added a larger trailer to the list. So that was my cue:) We bought a 25 foot TT. Love it!!!!

RE: Tailgate Step Suggestions?

In the past I carried a small 3 step ladder in the back of the truck. It was light, and handy to access the truck bed. Now I have a newer GMC with the built in step in the bumper, it makes life even easier.

RE: Do you think a front cargo rack is too dangerous?

When in doubt have a "qualified" expert look at it for proper safety and structure requirements.

RE: Trouble with California

I wonder if I would be arrested and deported for that. We got searched once at the international border, cost us a tomato. Same here :)

Trip planner map

Is there a way to print the actual map portion on the trip planner program as well as the written direction?

RE: Health insurance.

We use SnowbirdAdvisor Insurance, their insurance carrier is thru Manulife and they cover pre-existing conditions and cover up to 10 million $. We have used them for a couple of years now, we can still travel even with DW medical issues. Web search Snowbird Advisor for free quotes etc.

RE: Sights along Lake Superior

The scenery north of the Soo is the best anywhere, Lake Superior provincial Park has a few nice spots to check out, Old Woman Bay, Pictographs. Whiteriver is home of Winnie the Poo bear with a nice little park, we stop to eat lunch there! Ouimet Canyon is very cool but if you are towing you have to leave the trailer etc in a separate parking lot - tight corners and a small parking lot at the canyon. Terry Fox Monument is a must as is Kakabeka Falls about 15 Km west of Thunder Bay. Rossport is a nice scenic area as well. Camping though - many campgrounds are closed or closing middle to the end of September, best to check the web sites for dates.

RE: Weight distribution hitch removal and storage

Nice, what a great idea. It's not just the grease but the weight to carry it - Backs will thank you!!

RE: Month long stays w/o the rv

Try VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner) or similar site. they have all locations and price ranges. We go to Scottsdale for the month of April staying in a condo rental, great city, great weather and reasonable price. Start looking now as short stays are harder to find, most rentals want 3 month stays. Good luck and have fun!!

Removing debris from slide out

Have been searching for a way to remove debris such as twigs and leaves from the top of the slide out without hauling a ladder with me. I do not have a awning cover on the slide out, was hoping to find a brush or other tool - any suggestions? thanks

RE: Roll Call Alaska 2019

We went to the Yukon/Whitehorse in 2016. Just pulled out our old maps and information books as we are starting to plan for this summer 2020. Not sure the month we are going yet and as long as health holds up, we should make it happen. Rick

RE: Thinking About Nova Scotia/PEI July/Aug 2020

We have been researching the same area as well, I downloaded the travel and tourist brochures on each Province website. They have many recommendations for all types of travelers, what to see, what to do, where to stay etc.

RE: Gas discount

Where I live regular gas costs me $1.35 a litre or $5.10 a US gallon. So paying $2.39 and then saving 5 cents on top of that is like winning the lottery, LOL :)

Gas discount

Just joined Good Sam and received my card days before we left to travel to Colorado by car. It was great to get a 5 cent discount at Pilot and Flying J. Thanks for offering this, every little bit helps. Thanks Rick

RE: Air Conditioner leaking inside...questions

We had a Jayco with a A/C that leaked inside as well, it was the bolts holding it that were loose and did not compress the gasket at all. How the A/C unit stayed on the trailer going down the Hwy was a miracle.

RE: Best way through St. Paul

The route H. Cramer stated will work, just watch getting onto 35N I believe, the on ramp is very short and people are trying to get off as well at the same time. We almost met our maker a couple of times. We now go up Hwy 101 to Mora then to 35N to Duluth, a lot less stress...
