Park Reviews

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but... how often are campgrounds reviewed by Good Sam? One place I was looking at was rated 10/10/10 and most reviews were good but I like to look at the bad ones too to get a feel for the place and the bad ones all mentioned the manager was mean, rude etc. Yes everyone has a bad day and some guests can bring out the worst in people but the dates spanned a couple of months, most recent was Feb 2021. Just thinking - should I consider this park still or move on?

RE: Rear Kitchen - good idea or bad idea?

We have a Catalina rear kitchen now going on 5 years and we have not had any issue with the fridge, cupboards, stuff moving around, items breaking, nothing. The turn table plate in the microwave moves around but we jammed a pool noodle between the plate and the top of the microwave oven top, solved that issue. Get the floor plan you want.

RE: Need Help Deciding which feature for trailer

Since you are travelling with kids, I would think the door to a bathroom is better. Our trailer has a second exterior door to a bathroom and we thought it was odd, but while travelling it is a great idea, easy access (and faster access) at rest stops.

RE: Leaking Bunk End

We had a Hybrid in the past and had water on the floor at the back as well. Turns out the water would run off the roof onto the tail light, the water entered the tail light housing, fill up to were it entered the opening in the trailer wall were the wires for the lights ran and entered the trailer. Once I figured that out I caulked the openings, no more issues.

RE: hitch lock??

I just use a standard padlock to lock the hitch latch down and I lock the WD bars to the trailer frame with the chains around the frame. The padlocks are all keyed the same.

RE: travel trailer towing difficulty

I too upgraded from a 17 foot TT to a 26 foot TT, no issues with towing, you will not notice the difference. For the WD why not get what the dealer recommends as it would match the trailer..no?

RE: Travel into Canada

Canada-US border is closed right now - besides you don't need a gun in Canada, leave it behind or ship it to Alaska.

RE: Backing that trailer into a tight campsite..

Agree with taking it slow and having a spotter with hand signals discussed before hand. One site I was backing into my DW was the spotter but the flies were so bad she was waving her arms so much I didn't know whether to go forward, back up or steal home!!

RE: Garbage disposal?

Park owners may not like greasy food stuff running through their plumbing as well.

RE: Slide out doesn't work

Is there a panel below the front of the coach? If so it may be access to the motor and gears.

RE: RBC ( royal Bank US )

I have had this issue a couple of times, I called the RBC US bank number and was told to go to the lower right side of the Canadian bank page and clink on the link account title then re-link your accounts. It's frustrating but it works.
