RE: Help a Newbie, question about gas vs. diesel

One reason I would go with diesel over gas is it can be a pain in the butt getting into and out of a lot of gas stations with that big trailer behind you. Diesel . . . any Truck Stop . . . Right in and out

RE: Kwikee Electric Step Problem

I saw sellers on Amazon with those motors when I had to replace mine last week. Mine was a different style motor.

RE: Dometic Penguin II - cools, but compressor cuts on and off

Sounds like a capacitor going bad. I just had one that did the same thing. Compressor would cut off then come back on. Replaced run capn and no more issues.

RE: Winnebago vs Tiffin

Generally in the Itasca they put a better grade of materials and components in it. The Itasca will have standard things that are an option in the same model Winnebago

RE: Winnebago vs Tiffin

We had 3 Winnebagos and all were great. For gas or entry diesel I would also consider Newmar. If you are going higher up Newmar or Entegra. Tiffin would not be on my list (been to their factory) I would go with a Tiffin over a Thor Integra any day. I do not consider an Entegra a "top" of the line coach except for price. I would go with a Winnebago over Tiffin just because of parts availability. If Winnebago doesn't have it in stock they will make it for you. Been there . . . done that. Had part in 2 weeks that they had to make. On another note Tiffin will generally repair things for no charge even when out of warranty. Been therre . . . Done That also.

RE: Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

FIXED . . . Problem is that inverter/converter was changed out and remote panel was not. Inverter software is 5.9 and panel software is .7 They are not compatible. Have new remote panel coming.

RE: Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

Why are you going to call Magnadyne when you have a Magnum inverter? It was a typo . . . Corrected now . . . Thanks

RE: Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

Back to doing it again. Went through the bulk, absorb, float cycles after reset this morning and batteries are at 12.5 now. Will check throughout the evening and place a call to Magnum tomorrow. Unit is only 8 months old according to their manufacture code

RE: A/C Issue

Replaced the 40uf capacitor and all seems to be well. The top of the capacitor was starting to bulge on the bad AC unit. Got 3 from my AC guy for $50 and changed them in all of the AC units. Was original from 2010

RE: Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

The batteries are the original style AGM batteries. There are 6 of them. Battery type is set to AGM 2 and the Battery AHRS set to 200. Charge is set to 100% and VAC set to 100 Did a reset this morning via the manual instructions by holding the power button for 15 seconds then let it go. it went through it's blinking lights and clicks. Then turned back on. After that it seems to be working right for now. Is currently in "float" mode. My panel shows the current draw when ever a light is turned on. If inverting it will say like -23 amps and when on AC it will normally show like +16 then when a light is turned on it will show like +18 to show more draw.

RE: Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

So yesterday the batteries went down to 10.5 volts. Did a reset and it came back up to bulk mode with 130 amp on remote for batteries. It apparently charged them. This morning it is back in "batt save" mode and currently at 12.7 volts and showing 0 for current draw on remote. I would think there should be some draw as we are using 12v lights etc. Yes I am connected to AC and a 50 amp service with both legs operating properly.

RE: A/C Issue

Fans are running fine. Checked evaporator and condenser coils. All are clean. Did a search and several threads came up about weak capacitor. I have 2 ordered and they will be here today from my AC guy that handles the AC in our rental units. He said that is probably the problem. I'll let everyone know what I find.

A/C Issue

Have noticed that I have 1 of my 3 AC units that the compressor only has been shutting off after about 15 minutes blower fan and upper fan outside will stay on.. It will then come back on in about 10 minutes or so and keep doing that cycle. Took off top cover and cooling coil inside is clean. Unit was not freezing up. Re sealed unit as I thought air might be getting in. Possible thermal shut down of compressor??? Dealer is aware of problem with the unit.

Magnum Inverter/Converter Question

Just purchased a 2011 Meridian. As part of their Inspection they replaced all 6 AGM Batteries. Seems like Magnum 2812 Converter/Inverter is stuck in "battery save" mode. My house voltage on the batteries is 11.7v and engine batteries are on 12.4 v. How do I get the charger to start charging these batteries. Any Idea's. Also shows "0" battery draw on the magnum panel.

RE: 2005 Fleetwood Revolution Running Lights not working.

No panel in front under the windshield above generator??

RE: Generator - LP or Diesel?

Diesel all the way. A propane generator will suck up that small propane tank fast. I have a 150 gallon diesel tank and would not want to try to run the generator till it went to the 1/4 tank mark and shut itself off being out of fuel..

RE: Water Heater & display

Sometimes there is no gas in the system also and you may need to turn it off and on 3 or 4 times before it ignites.
