RE: generator issues

It’s not throwing a code that I know of. Nothing comes up on the dash when it dies. Code would be flashing lights on the start switch light

RE: generator issues

Perhaps your generator's carburetor is quiet gummed up. Diesel generator . . . No Carb. What is it throwing for a code. Sounds like it is maybe sucking air from somewhere or bad low oil pressure cutoff switch.

RE: Suggestion to purchase an SUV to tow behind my Class A!

We purchased a 2016 Lincoln MKX loaded for 17k. Just put in neutral and go.

RE: Bad Xantrex or bad batteries

Sounds like the xantrrex is working. Take the batteries out and have them tested. You need to do a load test and not just check them with a volt meter.

RE: Inside sewer smell

You can purchase them at Lowes or Home Depot. They're about $8.00 each. They have them with a male and female thread so get the correct ones.

RE: Just an FYI about Dish

I have the pay as you go plan and I can change locals on the app. When I'm home I was just bringing the receivers. I set up the house dish myself. I recently got rid of dish also and have just the FMCA unlimited data and stream all my TV. It has worked great from Florida to Texas and now up to Massachusetts.

RE: Would you switch from Class A to Travel Trailer

Nope . . . We love the class A. Pull into a rest ares make lunch coffee use the bathroom then go. Can't do that with a trailer. It is more convenient for us.

RE: Washington state bans new gas light vehicle sales as of 2030

I would imagine one easy way around that is to have manufacturers label all gas vehicles as a 2029 model year.

RE: Allegro Bus Fan Gear Box Replacement on Powerglide Chassis

Degreased it and drained and refilled with the 24 oz required. Mine was overfilled as it had a full quart in it. Mine does not have that little dip stick. I was told by the manufacturer, Curtis, that the gearbox was propriatary to them and not the same as the Freightliner unit and Tiffin and the manual said to fill with 24 oz

RE: Computer Location..Where am I?

Are you using a hotspot. Sometimes it won't show you as being local but local to the IP address the system assigned. Sometimes when I use ours in Florida it Will show me connected to T Mobile in Kansas and it screws with my computer time as it thinks I am in Central Time Zone instead of eastern. Had to shut that off.

RE: Dead Onan 4000 generator

Mine would prime then nothing. There are 3 separate relays in there. Search the internet for your model of generator and you will find a maintainence and troubleshooting manual.

RE: Dead Onan 4000 generator

Apparently I do have 12 VDC at the generator because the light came on when I 1st went to Prime the generator. But I will definitely check to make sure that there is 12VDC at the generator before I order a new circuit board. I just reconnected all the battery cables to the coach batteries before attempting to start the generator so the connections are all clean. The light may come on even if there is 10 or 11 volts. It will not turn over unless it sees a certain voltage or greater. Don’t assume by the light coming on . Measure it at terminals where it goes into generator. There is also a relay under the enclosure that is a start relay that goes bad. They can be purchased at an auto parts store. How do i know... been there done that

RE: 2006 Hurricane is this a great deal or a big headache

You’re right . . . They’re not junk . . . They’re Garbage Well, I guess Tiffins are junk too since they're now owned by Thor! I agree. Our 2003 Tiffin has been absolutely trouble free. With that said, I wouldn't buy a new one now that Thor bought them out. I agree 100%. Any pre Thor Tiffin is good. Theyre gonna turn to **** like everything else Thor builds. There is a post running now where someone bought a Thor and his side wall separated from the floor causing all kinds of damage and Thor is giving him the run around. Its a 2 year old rig. Form the other post . . . One year ago we started the process of working with Thor customer support to have repairs to our 2018 Thor Challenger 37TB covered under structural warranty. The passenger side wall had separated from the floor causing the body to twist and rest on the fender. This twisting caused the front windshield to crack, the front cap to separate from the top, the front cargo bay doors to become jammed, and the entry door to jam. The approval process for each individual repair has to be submitted to Thor with documentation. If the wording and semantics in the submitted requests are not what is expected it gets denied and starts a back and forth game wasting more time. Some parts like our replacement fender have taken over 4 months to arrive at the dealership, and the incorrect fender was shipped once. Our RV has been out of our possession for over 10 months, and has been unusable for over a year. We still make payments, lose value, continue to miss planned trips, incur costs having to fly places instead of drive, and overall are just frustrated and disappointed with the whole experience.

RE: 2006 Hurricane is this a great deal or a big headache

A Hurricane is a Thor. I would not buy any thor product if my life depended on it. Just my opinion as they are known to be JUNK Go for a used Winnebago, Tiffin or Newmar They're not junk, but they're not high end motorhomes either...they are what they are... What's your budget? I can practically guarantee you won't find one of the three listed above in similar condition for a similar price - that's to be expected. The best thing you can do is go look at different motorhomes. There are always deals to be found, no need to rush into something without knowing anything about it. You may not like travelling in a motorhome, you may love it. If you get an expensive one and don't like it, it's a mistake. If you get a low cost one and love it, you upgrade. I'd expect there are very few people here that are still travelling in their first RV. You have to learn what you like, what you don't like, and often, your needs will change over the years. Don't be afraid of a Thor product, just understand what they are and have the right expectations. If you bought a Chevy expecting it to have the bells and whistles of a Cadillac, you'd be disappointed, but if you expect it to be equipped like a Chevy, you'd be quite happy. Look around, go to shows, talk to people. Without knowing your expectations, no one can tell you if it's the RIGHT deal for you. You’re right . . . They’re not junk . . . They’re Garbage
