RE: What constitutes a "new" tire?

I was dealing with a local supplier of Toyo tires and had an appointment set...until I told him I wanted the tires to be within 1 month of manufacture. That did not go over well
Good Luck with that . . . 6 Months no problem.

RE: Code SPN 5246 FMI 0 Derate

Can you purchase the sensor and install it yourself at the RV park you are at. Mobile Freightliner tech . . . They send em out for truck repairs.

RE: Intellitec energy management system

The thermostat . . . From what I remember is not tied into the EMS at all. The EMS just shuts things down based on demand. What is the brand of AC units you have. Dometic, Coleman etc. One of their dual zone units should work??

RE: DP or Gas? DW vs DH

When we were looking to go from a TT to an MH we found out that a good used gas can ride as good as and have less road noise then a cheap used diesel.
Yea Right. I have never owned a gas RV that rode as good as a diesel or was quieter and I’ve had more than most people.
The OP says he is looking for a 15 year old diesel. I looked at many junk gas and diesel MHs and a few good ones. At 15 years old he could get a good diesel but he could get a junk. You don't think a very well maintained low mileage gas could be nicer then a 15 year old never taken care of high mileage junk DP just because the DP has a rear engine and air ride?
I do agree a maintained gasser could be nicer . . . But now your talking a good condition gasser to a junk diesel. That is not what the OP asked. He asked about the ride and noise of both. A new gasser won't ride as nice as a used diesel. If you never owned one you can't make that statement.

RE: DP or Gas? DW vs DH

For starters I would stay away from Forest river. You can get a nice 32' Tiffin diesel used for a fair price or a used Winnebago Forza. Yes they are quieter. You can talk while going down the road, hear the radio and not have that 4500 rpm overdrive or downshift every time you try to go up a hill. We won't own another gasser. Not to mention the ride is much better and not like being in a moving truck.

RE: T-Mobile Coverage

Well if you are a member of FMCA you can get the TMobil/Sprint for $50 a month unlimited and no throttling. We used it all over the country and it worked good enough to stream tv.

RE: Quarantine for Florida trip?

Was listening to a couple of ham radio operators discussing the situtation in FL.
No shutdowns. No restrictions other than those put in place by businesses.
Some stats for you (nation wide)
Yesterday's COVID-19 Stats from the New York Times (AND THE DAY BEFORE)
TOTAL REPORTED ON DEC. 28 14-DAY CHANGE
Cases 19.3 million - - - - -- - - 189,044 - - - - - - - - - - - –13%
Deaths 335,141 - - - - - - - - - - - 1,899 - - - - - - - - - - - –10%
Hospitalized 121,235 - - - - - - - - - - - +10%
TOTAL REPORTED ON DEC. 29 14-DAY CHANGE
Cases 19.5 million - - - - -- - - 200,902 - - - - - - - - - - - –11%
Deaths 338,767 - - - - - - - - - - - 3,626 - - - - - - - - - - - –9%
Hospitalized 124,686 - - - - - - - - - - - +10%
Infections and deaths down but hosptials still overflowing.
There are 1440 minutes in a day
The problem is you cannot believe the stats everyone is telling you. The figures are grossly inflated. A guy here in Florida was in a motorcycle accident and died. They blamed his death on COVID because he tested positive.

RE: Laptop Stripped Screw ?????

Usually you can get the edge of a razor blade under the screw and lift the screw while unscrewing it.

RE: Is there something I am missing ?

Wearing a Mask protects yourself AND OTHERS.
It's a SHAME others don't have the same respect and wear a Mask also
It really is that simple..........
Cloth masks do not work, period. They may stop some of the very largest particles when someone sneezes or coughs but does not stop the small particles. And when you cough you don't just produce extra large droplets, but rather the whole spectrum from extra tiny up. And for the vast majority of people with no symptoms all they do is restrict their breathing making respiratory problems worse.
Mayo Clinic did a study to show how effective masks are, they got some of those foam heads women use for wigs, stuck a tube out where the mouth would be, hooked the hose up to a BLOWER and pointed it at a mask wearing foam head six feet away. When the blowerized dummy was fitted with a mask and the blasted a continious stream of plastic bead loaded air directly at the other dummy. That dummy's masks stopped one half of one percent of the beads. Over 90 percent remained floating around the blower head.
N95 masks issued to medics work somewhat if carefully worn and with the correct fitting, discarded frequently, and with no facial hair. HEPA mask do work when fitted correctly and without facial fair. Over the head forced air masks work very well but at the cost of several hundred bucks each and with changes of the expensive filters and batteries. I know since I was in charge of buying this stuff for an environmental lab.
Cloth masks are just tools to make the privileged class feel that they are forcing the proletariat, that's you, obey them.
Couldn't have said it better . . . Thank You

RE: Is there something I am missing ?

Well, we tried to stay with facts.
What facts are those . . . The facts that masks work . . . Depends on what Doctor you talk to. Mine says they don't and people are actually get sick from breathing their own germs back in and out. If masks work why are people still getting sick??
No thanks to the mask

Powerglide Chassis

Looking to upgrade to a used Allegro Bus on the Powerglide chassis in a few months. How does this Tiffin built chassis compare to Freightliner? Are parts readily available in case of a break down? How is the ride on one?? Looking for any advise on these.

RE: Mapping and GPS Recommendations Needed

I purchased a Rand Mcnally Tripmaker Overdrive rv gps last year I liked it a lot till I got the Garmin this year. It is easier to operate than the Rand and I find it does a better job routing. Came with traffic receiver, weather forecasts etc built into it.
