RE: New truck. Old camper

That little bit of adjustment should not really make the trailer too much nose high. I’d adjust and have at it. I adjusted our 2 holes and couldn’t see it was anymore high but the ruler measured just in front and back of wheels was only 1/2”.

RE: timbrens

I have 2 sets used on 2 different F250 trucks. Unloaded ride is rough. If anyone would like to own them, they are free to those visiting NE Florida.

RE: 5th wheel tires

G rated tires on a 11,700# trailer? Talk about massive overkill. My trailer has an 11,500" GVWR and could have been optioned with passenger tires. I tow with 16" LRE tires and have around a 50% safety margin while towing at approximately 10,500#. I towed with Towmax tires (China bombs) for four seasons with zero issues. I'm currently running Goodyear Endurance. The tires tow the same, longevity and speed ratings are the only criteria I used. I was running E rated Uniroyal LT tires on a 2004 Sandpiper, 12253 Cat weight, and blew 2 of those. Switched to Sailun G and no other problems no way is it overkill.

RE: Morryde Step Above

We’ve had them for over a year now. I have no trouble deploying them in the semi area at rest stops. While the take up a little more space when out, we’ve had no gripes. I use a small hand broom to clean them off and as for water, very little pools inside because I don’t stow them while it’s raining cats and dogs.

RE: DirecTV or Dish

They sent me another receiver right away. I have an H-24 and a G3 dome.

RE: New truck batteries

Most every automotive batteries from the US are made by either Johnson Controls or Exide Technologies. Interstate and DieHard are made by Johnson as is Optima.

RE: directv to dish

Directv notified everyone using SD receivers that this was going to take place. I called DTV and they sent an HD #H-24 box that I continue to use with my G3 dome.

RE: Porch light

If it’s a 1056/1156 round base automotive single contact bulb, Walmart and most auto parts have an led with the same number. I would use #1156 led.

There are several discussions addressing the truck you seek. I read several and found this statement concerning the Sportchassis .. Use the search function. Sportchassis discussion

RE: New Source of TV While on the Road

RE: casting to the TV vs using HDMI. Most unlimited data plan are only unlimited for data used on device ... On the phone. When you plug an HDMI cable to the TV you are still only using data on the phone -so far so good. When you "cast" to a smart TV or a Chromecast device, that is traveling over the internet, using data off device, because each piece (phone and TV needs to be connected to the same wifi) Miracast is an exception, it travels directly from phone to TV without a wifi connection. As far as I know, all smart cast is done by Bluetooth, not WiFi.

RE: Verizon 5g as hotspot if anyone has it yet

We had the MIFI 6620 for several years. Some campsites would show up as 3G. Friends had a newer unit which would grab LTE sitting side by side and 3 times faster. Went and purchased a new 8820 which has made a real difference in what we could download and increase in speed. Verizon says newer units have the ability to receive lower grade LTE correspondence better than the old unit. Since 5 G won’t come close to our remote camping spots we went with the 8820 and saved $400.

RE: Small flys/ gnats coming out of commode.

You can fill the tank all you want but they will retreat to the vent pipe until the water subsides. They are in every sewer system, even your s&b home. Worse when a septic system or in your case a holding tank is their abode. I get a few sometimes.

RE: Jayco 50 years

Jayco was acquired by Thor a few years back. Those Jayco claims are gone as far as I can see.

I haven’t seen that it’s for sale. They do sell individual sites but I understand they are in business as usual.

RE: Break away cable

I have a B&W Companion. The hitch arm locks in place with a snap pin. I put the pin through the loop and onto the locking arm.

RE: I expect a 10 cent price increase in diesel

Living in Florida, we mostly use our heat pump and on rare occasions, the heat strips. Power company suppliers throughout Florida have started or stopped oil and coal fired boilers in favor of Natural Gas and Solar. We still have some coal and a few nuclear sites operational. In NE Florida, we’ve shuttered local oil and coal plants and are buying power from FPL and Georgia Power supplemented by solar farms and natural gas.

RE: F450 vs F350 SRW payload

I believe the F450 uses 19.5 tires and the Dana S110, a real step up from the Dana 80 used on the F350 DRW. I know the registration/tag cost my last F250 with 10k GVW package compared to my DRW F350 was considerably less.

RE: US post new Mexican travel warnings

You don’t need to go to Mexico too take a deadly chance. Just come to Jacksonville, FL. You can join the count, 140 homicides so far 2019. 77% higher murder rate than Miami based on population.
