RE: RV PARK I75

Carrols, meat market that has a small RV park, and if you stay there, you get a discount to the store. Carrols is in Ashburn, 160 miles south of Atlanta.

RE: Question on 5th wheel brakes

They work by way of a magnet. As you apply the brakes, the magnet try’s to attach to the drum, as the drum rotates, the magnet levers the shoes against the drum. It may take more movement to apply enough force to slide the hitch or even reduce king pin pressure.

RE: Broke my hitch pin today

Just weld the adapter to the stinger and be done with it. You can buy extra adapters and a cheap hitch shank if needed for say a utility trailer etc.

RE: 2022 HD trucks delivery date

As of mid July, Ford had over 60,000 2021 vehicles built but parked around the country awaiting chips. I assume Chevrolet and that other brand, Dodge Ram are in the same boat. You are probably correct on getting your deposit back. I would think the big 3 will have to heavily discount those parked units to move them once regular production and chip availability resumes.

RE: Towing with a 2022 Ford F250 7.3L

All built in navigation systems are sometimes several years behind. In fact my F350 was almost 4 years behind showing new roads when it was brand new.

RE: What do you think about this set up?

I have a 2013 Chevy with the 5.3 eng and trailer package with a towing capacity with the 3.42 rear at 9800 lbs. Thinking of going to a larger trailer that is 29 ft and dry wt of 6600 lbs.I travel light and just me and the bride and one cat. I know things add up but I think or feel this is doable. That are your thoughts? Thanks Ed. I do not need to be the first one over the hill and would be staying here in California. If you like towing in 3rd maybe 4th gear all the time. I had that same setup on a 2013 Chevy Z-71 cab and a half, pulling a 25’ toy hauler, Dry weight 6,000 with a golf cart inside. Truck moaned to get up to speed. That was when we lived in NE Florida.

RE: Florida RED Tide at Ft. De Soto

You won’t miss much if you have to cancel but the heat. As a previous resident of 70 years, it’s going to either be very hot or a hurricane will be expressing itself.

RE: Transmission shudder

It is probably caused by the trucks AFM ability when the truck switches to 4 cylinder mode. Several post concerning GM vehicles with AMF. Many forums reporting transmission shutter and lifter problems. The transmission TSB relating to fluid flush addresses what most report as when accelerating, feels like driving over rumble strips. My 2019 Corvette has had both.

RE: New Ford recalls

PYload sticker and rear axle lubricant. The majority recalls are for a FRS explorer that should not tow much more than a pop up or small single axle TT.

RE: Brakes for 2017 F350 DRW

I’ve owned 3 F350 DRW trucks each tow more than half the miles on the odometer and never serviced brakes before 50-60,000 miles.

RE: 40’+ limitations?

We are 37+ and have made several trips up and down the eastern seaboard. Many state parks in Florida and Georgia along with a slew of COE parks without any problem.

RE: FOB keys and theft

Most new GM vehicles, additional fobs can be programmed in the car itself. I have a C7 Corvette and used this procedure to program my additional fob. Fob Programming

RE: do LED interior lights have bulbs that can be replaced?

Most newer RVs have non replaceable bulbs in the can type lights but those non sealed like over the bathroom sink/ dining table may be replaceable.

RE: New couch ideas ???

Most of the full size residential couches that recline will come apart in 6 sections. 3 seats and 3 backs.

RE: Tires - for a truck...

Every new truck I’ve ever bought, I make them remount the raised white letter tires inside cause they are a pain to keep clean in this Georgia clay.

RE: 50A breakout - 30A & 20A for 2nd A/C in 30 amp RV

I placed a second a/c in 2 separate 30amp trailers over the years plunging the second unit into the 20 amp pedestal plug. Never had a problem. Eve had 3 50/amp units over the years with either duel or triple a/c units . On one of the 50 amp units, I tried a split 2, 30 amp plugs to a 50 amp since many Georgia state parks have a twin 30 amp pedestal, I’ve attached the 50 amp units to a pedestal with 2 30 amp outlets and it blew breakers up stream in a main junction box. When I attached 1 of the 30amp legs to the pedestal 20 amp outlet, it blew the 20 amp GFCI. The only way to work it out is to have the new unit on a separate input cord using the pedestal 20 amp and the 30 amp to the dedicated 30 supply.
