RE: Attaching solar to roof

as above; Flexable Panels and glue designed for both materials. Adhesives are specifically designed for certain materials and are iffy at best for others. A good match is like welding, a bad match is like doing nothing.

RE: Recommendations for 30 -32 ft 5th wheel

I wanted under 30' and am glad we didn't go bigger. We were very interested in Outdoor RV and Northwood rigs but went Grand Design. I'm happy to go into more details if you want.

RE: Need wiring diagram and help

You need a circuit tracer. Like this one: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sperry-Lan-WireTracker-Tone-and-Probe-Wire-Tracer-ET64220/202520187 Hook one part to DEAD wires and the other will 'sing' when near the wire. Works well through plastic tubing and thin wall panels!

RE: 50amp surge protector ?

For my money, brand is less important than features and value. I went with a hardwired top of the line because it's a new rig and I expect many years of far flung camping. If you like larger or more urban campgrounds then less will do fine.

RE: Magnetic Cam Locks???

First thing I did to mine was replace the locks. Local cabinet hardware outfit had everything I needed, keyed alike, $7 ea. for better quality!

RE: Switch to LIFePO4?

There are battery heating blankets. I saw an interview with some BB execs talking about them. Relion has a LT model that has a heater built into it. https://relionbattery.com/

RE: Flexible Solar panel performance

I'd also love to know. Planning solar addition, but not in a hurry.

RE: LED Dome Lights

As a lighting expert I am seriously sad about all the RV fixtures I've ever seen. Incandescent or LED, they glare horribly, and look industrial. Good residential LED fixtures are indistinguishable from incandescent, unless they use LED's special features like being very small, or a linear strip. Mine are frosted enough that you can't see the the individual LEDs. They are also warm and soft in color. That much is readily available so don't settle for less!!

RE: Pullrite or Demco Superslide for a short bed.

I did a lot of research first and then got a quote for a Pullrite slider from my dealer. It just seemed a better option overall. Then found it on CARid.com significantly less expensive. So much less I was concerned there was some kind of mistake. Several hundred miles later I have no complaints at all.

RE: 6 passenger pickup

6 door truck? Well I saw one not long ago. Granted it was some kind of work truck with a flat bed and lot's of tool boxes. But DW & I were amazed such a thing is possible.

RE: New Meter on order

Mine should show up any day now. This thread has been very interesting reading! On my trailer there doesn't seem to be a good wire path from the batteries to the living area. Wireless seems the solution and the price is good.

RE: 1st time buyer - 31 vs 35 ft trailer?

When everyone says look at the payload they (should) mean add it all up. Not just the trailer but max people of max size (kids grow!), toys, fuel, oil, coolant, tranny oil, hitch, tools, stuff in the bed, etc. It's all payload and adds up faster than you might imagine. Then add a comfort factor so you aren't maxed out all the time.

RE: 6.7 Diesel fuel mileage

My 2015 F350 Powerstroke gets 10-12 in a hilly town and 17 highway mountain pass. I have yet to pick up my trailer, so can't say that stuff. Towing rates will depend on what you're towing and the slope of the hills.

RE: Keystone Avalanche or Best quality 5th wheel

We just pulled the trigger on a Grand Design. While we loved much of the Oregon brands construction they weren't quite right. GD seems a step up from the rest.

RE: Data usage comparison

One would guess that it would take less data to fill a four inch screen than a 32, but guessing always gets me in trouble. Inches don't matter. Pixels and color per pixel are filled by the data. Resolution try to make it simple, but loses facts.

RE: Does This RV Layout Exist?

15 years ago I had a 23 Jamboree. No down bed, a sofa and a booth. Older knees say we need a down bed.

RE: Total vs Nominal length

I'm trying to avoid cramming the rig. This is a storey of inches. We are shopping and want to stay in smaller NFS, NP that list many sites as 30'. But we like some 30'6" and even a 30'11" rigs. DW is making some noise over those inches and tends to be a rule follower in general, and is pretty smart! So I'm tapping the collective brain to balance many facets, so we won't worry when it's too late to fix it. Thanks for all and in advance!

RE: Total vs Nominal length

Just had 2 sales folks tell me to use the nominal length. On one unit that was 6 feet shorter!

Total vs Nominal length

Apologies if this is covered. I couldn't find it. How tight do various types of sites get on length? I'm thinking of smallish 30 foot range rigs. I heard a rumor that some places will pull out a tape measure. Some folks have removed ladders to fit more places, etc. Just how real are these stories?

RE: New for 2019?

LED has been getting into everything. I work in lighting and I'm happy to see it. The industry is seeing a true revolution! For automotive systems LEDs are ideal; small, efficient, DC power, not fragile. The best way is with new fixtures rather than retrifit bulbs. And don't settle for ugly blueish light, there no need for it to be that way.
