RE: Winterizing the coffee maker

Sorry you had to buy a new Keurig machine but you should have kept the old one for people that like ice coffee.

RE: Chevy vs Arctic Fox. Can It Tow It...Safely?

I'm a little surprised that your 3500HD only has a tow rating for a 5th wheel of 16,200 pounds. My 2020 2500HD SRW with the 11,350 GVWR has a 5th wheel tow rating of 18,500 I would have thought it would be higher. OP has a gas 3500. Is that because a gas engine won't have as much torque as a diesel so they lower the 5th wheel towing limit....and I assume the other limits as well?

RE: Best Cell Phone App

Google Maps is the best on android phones but doesn't let you know about RV specific dangers like low bridges. RV Trip Wizard has the “RV LIFE GPS & Campgrounds” app but it's a little clunky. I prefer using RV Trip Wizard on my home computer and plan out my trips so I know the route doesn't have any issues Then I recreate it in Google Maps and send it to my phone via text message. Don't do it in "My Maps" of the Google map options as there is no navigation feature to that. Just use the regular Google maps and have the route texted to your phone. So far this way has worked great for me.

RE: Advice for the best printer cartridge.

I would buy a refill kit and reuse the ones you have.

RE: How to sanitize new RV water system

OMG! How simple is that! Thank you for such a simple solution! Who feels stupid now? Don't feel stupid. That's my job! I do my job diligently every month :-)

RE: Chevy vs Arctic Fox. Can It Tow It...Safely?

Rob...those GM guys are just playin games! Yours is not REALLY a 2500, and has that great diesel power to pull. Jerry I can't wait to actually see what that diesel can do! C'mon Spring!!!

RE: Ford Going All Electric in 2030 Too...

Sales might suffer for the manufacturers as 2035 nears. Imagine thinking about buying a new truck in 2033 because yours is getting a little long in the tooth but knowing it will be hard to find gas/diesel stations in the near future. EV's will be pricy making people think about stretching out a couple more years out of their trucks. I'll be too old or pushin up daisies by then but if I am still around and able to drive, I'm not buying a Gas/Diesel truck if I think I'll have trouble getting fuel in the future even if there's really good deals. With all that being said, I'm looking forward to seeing outlet posts in corn fields so the tractors can charge up!

RE: Cordless blowers

I have an EGO blower. I wouldn't recommend it for what you want one for but it does move the leaves in my yard. very powerful! I'm looking to get a small corded blower for my RV roof and slide outs. Lighter is better for me in this situation.

RE: How to sanitize new RV water system

How I do it is, I unhook my hose from the spigot, pour about a cup of bleach into the hose using a small funnel and then reattach the hose and turn the water on. I fill my fresh water tank and then proceed just as you do. Draw water through the system with the pump, let it sit about 24 hours and then drain everything out.

RE: Website ??

www.wildlifeUSA.net and www.billdelorey.com open fine in both MS Edge and Chrome for me. www.billdelorey.com opens to the same address while www.wildlifeUSA.net points to and opens to www.billdelorey.com

RE: Have to wonder how this will effect the EV aficionados

Does everything have to be political now? I'm about ready to ditch this forum there's so much of it. This was a decent RV forum! Now it's just another way to promote your political leanings.

RE: Furnace runs but blows cold

80% of the time, it's the sail switch I was afraid of that. Are you familiar with this unit and what is involved in replacing it? Unfortunately no but I have a friend that has had a lot of trouble with his furnace and when the tech came to repair it, I happened to be there. He told me about the sail switch being the issue 80% of the time. I just relayed what I was told. There are RV repair techs that have youtube channels and they have done videos on furnaces. You might try looking them up.

RE: Charter Spectrum Internet

I realize this thread is getting long in the tooth but wanted to comment that I just got an email from Spectrum saying they doubled my speed "at no extra cost" so I'm regularly at 230mb download speed. Of course we all know that "no extra cost" means the price will be going up again soon but I'll take the added speed!

RE: Jayco or Grand Design

Jayco is owned by Thor. Grand Design is owned by Winnebago. We have a Grand Design Reflection 5th Wheel so I can't speak about Jayco other than to say we narrowed things down to the same two brands When we bought our Grand Design. For us, what tipped the scale was which dealership was selling what and their reputation overall (Both Sales and Service), and which was going to give us the best deal. In our area it was Camping World that sold Jayco's and a smaller dealership, Meyers RV that sold Grand Designs that have 7 stores within a few hours of where we live. We chose to buy the Grand Design because we got the best deal on it. The other things were pretty much a wash.

RE: Office 365 Questions

If you place those documents back onto your computer, can you open them then? Maybe you have security set up on your flash drive that is preventing MS Office from opening them directly from the flash drive.

RE: Recommendation for Folding Hard Tonneau Cover

I want to clarify my previous post about the BakFlip MX4 and getting water in the bed. It all comes from the tail gate which someone else mentioned isn't sealed like a door. No water comes in from the cover itself.

RE: Internet camera's/switches

Just as an aside, my security cameras at my house all require 2.4Ghz and if I have everything on the 2.4Ghz band things start to act up so I keep my laptops, TV connection, Desktop and Cell phone wifi connected to the 5Ghz band. It makes for a trouble free system.
