RE: Portable Camping Stove Design Issue

So what is the issue? Gas comes thru the small orifice and mixes with the air and travels to the burner where it is ignited. Can you hear gas coming thru the orifice before you try to light the burner? If not loosen the large brass nut at the bottom of the picture and see it you have gas flowing there. Work your way back till you find the problem.

RE: New Serpentine Belt?

If you have the ability and tools to change it on the side of the road then carry a spare. If not why bother?

RE: gas shortages along Interstates

A few days ago I received an email from Pilot/FlyingJ telling me which stations were out of gas, diesel, or both so there were some problems.

RE: Replacement axles

JM Onsite Repair from Gadsden had the axle I needed made within a few days when I had a problem.

If you have a sufficient number of jacks and jack stands or blocking it is a pretty basic job. The hardest part is getting the trailer off the ground and supported so that you can work safely. Also be sure that you install the wet bolts so the grease hole is horizontal otherwise you may have trouble getting grease into the bolts.

RE: Water Pump Tries But Fails to Pump Water

Sure sounds like a clog but I don't think it is at the pump. I would start by checking the aerators at the faucets. Also if you moved any of the winterizing valves make sure they are back to the correct positions.

RE: 50 amp RV outlet

It is probably even easier than pastor said. If it is NEMA 14-60 it is the same. Just make sure that it is wired correctly. the ground is the rounded pin. Neutral is opposite the ground, and the 2 pins on either side are power.

RE: Pinched Propane line ideas??

Yes those are flare fittings. The sealing is the tapered part that is down inside what you see. The threaded nut is used to clamp the two tapered parts which is where the sealing is done.

RE: Pinched Propane line ideas??

Most likely you will have flare fittings to hook to. Never use sealant on flare fittings. If you have threaded fittings then you need sealant. I would observe the line as the slide is moved in and out to see if a slightly longer or shorter hose would be less likely to kink. Then take the hose with you to your local propane dealer to have the hose you need made.

RE: Seatbelt grabs when its not suppose to ???

How level is the truck when setting in the driveway? Some of the seat belts use a pendulum to lock the belt and a substantial off level condition will lock them.

RE: Can't Find VIN # plate for 2003 Tahoe by Thor

The number on my pin box mounting is not a plate but just the number stamped into the steel. It is rather large numbers but not easy to see if the light is not right.

RE: Holding tanks

When the bathroom and galley are on different levels they will have separate gray tanks. If they didn't it would be easy to overfill the tank and it would leak out of the one on the lower level while you didn't realize it and keep using the one in the upper level.

RE: Grey tank connections

On mine the gray tank is a grommet with the pipe slip fit into it. I was having trouble with it leaking when it was full and discovered that it was not lining up correctly with the hole in the floor. This distorted the grommet so that it leaked when full. Enlarging the holed in the floor let the grommet return to its proper shape and it no longer leaks.

RE: Ram 2021 3500 DRW Bed Height for 5th Wheel ?

That's why I am still driving my 07. All the new trucks are to high for the older 5th wheels. I was all set to order new when I found that the rail heights are about the same as the overhang height of my 2005 Cardinal. I still haven't decided whether to fix up the old truck body wise or get a new truck and change to a flat bed. I am thinking of fixing the old as the wife is starting to complain about getting into the old so there is no way she would be happy getting up into the newer trucks.

RE: Black oil in propane line?

they make a fitting called a street L that would give a 90deg turn right at the fitting. But that would still mean that any oil in the line would go down the ell and still get in the quick connect.

RE: Extended warranty - best options?

None of them are warranties they are repair insurance. You pay out now and and if you need repairs later they take care of it. If you don't need covered repairs it is money down the drain. I find it is far better to put money into a special place for future repairs. That way if you don't need repairs the money is still yours.

RE: killed new Jeep Wrangler by Flat-Towing It in 4-Low !

I would think the insurance would deny any claim. This is pure and simple stupidity on the part of the owner.

RE: Rear Storage Mod.

It looks nice. My concern would be the amount of weight you have added way at the back. You need to get to a scale and make sure you still have at least 18 percent of your total on the pin. Otherwise it may be very unstable driving.

RE: Adding roof vent with fan?

First you need to find out what electricity is under the wall plate. If it is indeed for air conditioner it is probably 120 Vac. Most power vents run on 12 Vdc so it will be necessary to get 12 Vdc from somewhere. As far as ease of getting the power the rest of the way it is hard to give any advise. All but the cheapest vents have the ability to run either direction. It has been a long time since I have seen one with an aluminum cover so good luck on that one.
