RE: goosebox

What exactly is the buyer wanting you to do about the current hitch?
He has a ball in his truck. Looking at adapter and hitch, quoted $3000-3800. Goosebox looks to be around $1750 and maybe (my guess) $300-400 for install.
Already dropped as low as I will go for fifth-wheel.
Oh!
He's trying to get you to buy him a Reese Goosebox because he doesn't want to spring for a B&W Companion for $1000 or any other solution on his own.
So he's using his own tow vehicles limited ability to pull a 5th wheel and his unwillingness to purchase appropriate equipment as a negotiating point against you.
Ok well after I finished laughing at him, I know what MY response would be, but I'm sure you are a lot nicer of a fellow than I am.

RE: goosebox

Selling my fifth wheel and potential buyer is talking about the goosebox pinbox. Anyone with one or knowledge of the goosebox?

RE: Ever Add A Dehumidifier ??

Check the pan on the roof to be sure no leaves, pine leaves, etc. are not blocking the water from leaving the pan. I check mine occasionally, and if the holes are blocked it can result in water coming into the RV when the fan is on. I also, have a dehumidifier that I only use when my unit is in storage along with a high setting on the A/C. This is basically so you don't have mold growing.
Roger that. Thx

RE: Ever Add A Dehumidifier ??

Oh it's definitely only doing it when it is running.
The rig is brand new fwiw.
Im getting a repair guy to come look at it this week and see if he can figure out whats going on then.
Dont want to wake up with wet feet again.

RE: Ford 350 mile per gallon

I had a head/crosswind going from DFW to Lubbock a few weeks ago and averaged 7.
Coming back at night with a little tailwind, 11.

Ever Add A Dehumidifier ??

One of my two AC's will leak water from the unit itself, onto the master bed, and sometimes the ductwork itself will drip water.
Any recommendations for a plug in dehumidifier perhaps to fix this condition??

Nose High vs Bed Clearance

Had a Reese Goosebox installed today.
Tell me your opinion here.
Am I too high in the front?
Trailer is 44' long, which makes a difference.
Frame bottom to ground in rear: 22.25"
Frame bottom to ground in front: 26"
Bottom of gooseneck to top of truck bed rail: 9"
Think I am GTG or do I need to drop the Reese down a click?

RE: Tires

New tires are cheap insurance.
Blowouts might cause a wreck, or at least damage the vehicle.
Plus now you're on the side of the road and might get killed there.
NONE of that is worth the $800 you'll spend every 6 years.
Peace of mind. Buy new tires.

RE: 40 or 45 ft 5fer, any difference

I went from a 32'TT to a 44' 5er and am managing just fine.
Especially with a dually like what you have, you'll do fine
