RE: DOMETIC DM2872 Fridge not working on gas or AC

Lost 12 volts DC to refer. I'm inclined to agree. I'll go over in a couple days with my multimeter and have a look.

RE: DOMETIC DM2872 Fridge not working on gas or AC

Everything else in the trailer works, lights etc. Fuses are good. Seems like there's no power going to the fridge. I've owned a couple versions of this fridge so I'm very familiar with it. I don't have access to it at the moment but I need to start with the basics and check for voltage at the back of the fridge.

DOMETIC DM2872 Fridge not working on gas or AC

Hey Folks, my neighbor brought home a 1 year old Forest River Travel Trailer a couple months ago. Here's some background; He's never owned an RV of any type before. When he brought the rig home I showed him how to work things. I opened the fridge, turned it on, the light inside came on, and I showed him how to switch it from gas, to electric, and what the lights on the panel mean, the check light, etc. Everything was fine. Believe it or not, they were leaving for South Carolina the next day to visit their son. When they go to turn the fridge on, there's nothing. No light inside, no lights on the panel; nothing. I'm looking to help him troubleshoot this but would like to know where to start.

RE: Group 24 Flooded to Group 31 AGM

Well, we went to sign. Of course they tried to sell us GAP and extended warranties, which we declined. They honored their agreed upon pricing and we will receive it on Tuesday. T I'll just upgrade the batteries myself at some point, but for now we'll try to make the 2 24's work. Thanks all for the help! Two 24s will be fine for now. When you get your bigger batteries you'll need bigger battery boxes if they are in boxes. Then simply note how the old batteries are connected and connect the new ones the same way. Only reason you would have to change the way the batteries are connected is if you go with two 6 volt batteries. That will be $250 please. Cash accepted :)

RE: TPMS valve stems issue

Many tire stores have metal stems: Discount Tire, for example. X2 They put metal stems on my trailer rims. Rubber stems can Crack from tpms use

RE: 5th wheel Hitch recommendations

Andersen hitch all the way , with your setup it’s a no brainer .Quietest , lightest hitch on the market . Ideal for short beds , no need for those heavy manual or automatic sliding hitches . Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Turning point swivel pin box that the OP’s trailer has requires a conventional hitch? You could be correct. The Andersen does not work with some pinboxes The Andersen site would have that information

RE: Towing a 42 footer… What do you think?

Hi folks, Found the perfect 5th wheel and it’s 42 feet. Started out looking for a 38 but it’s the 42 footer that best handles our needs. Not concerned about state parks etc. We will use an occasional parking lot on travel days but mostly RV park pull thru. When all is said and done does the extra 4 feet make that big of difference towing and in general? We go between Georgia and Montana most summers but pretty much stay in one place. So not a lot of traveling around with the Coach once we arrive at our destination. Thanks guys You should be fine with that setup. Generally every private campground we've stayed at can easily accommodate that size rig. Really nothing to worry about imo

RE: Battery Replacement?

I'm still running the J.C PENNY battery with the lifetime warranty from 1972. :) How many times has it been replaced? Cummins, you must be as old as I am if you remember the infamous "J.C.PENNEY BATTERY" with the lifetime warranty!

RE: Hot water in new 5er Montana

Tell her to join the Montana Owners Club forum. A very large active Montana only forum with lots of great helpful folks there. This is the best advice. The Montana owners forum will have a greater concentration of Montana owners obviously and you'll get a much greater volume of answers on point.

RE: Forest River

You should have a warranty sheet in your large packet of instructions describing the type of roof material used. That sheet should have the info you seek

RE: Walmart selling LiFePo4 batteries $539

Gdetrailer, Yes, I thought it was being backed up by Walmart. GD is basically correct, they kind of operate like Amazon. But, every once in a while they have a great deal I can't pass up and I just have it shipped to the local store for free. Don't know what their return policy is but it's assume it's pretty liberal like their in store returns. Never had to return anything. I think you can do returns at the store but somebody should check me on that. They had a smoking deal on the Carlisle Radial Trailer tires I purchased for my old trailer a couple years ago. Discount Tire is right next door so they matched the price.
