Black oil in propane line?

I'm going to be installing a propane quick connect on our new to us fiver which to my surprise does not have one.
The hard line I'm tapping into appears to be 1/2" gas pipe. I've found a convenient tee with a plug to tap into. I've removed the plug which was facing DOWN and some smelly black oil came out; maybe a teaspoon or so. Is this anything to be concerned about?
Also, can I install my quick connect also facing DOWN off the tee without fear oil flowing into the quick connect?

RE: Breakaway Cable on Andersen Hitch.

You might want to rethink your logic on this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phdr8v3D-Cg&ab_channel=KTVB
I actually think all trailers should have safety chains. I have always been surprised that a 5th wheel hitch does not have safety chains. Seems illogical to me.
I've never seen chains on a fifth wheel in California as they're not required in California. Can't hurt anything to add them imo

RE: Breakaway Cable on Andersen Hitch.

I hook mine with a carabiner to a cargo tie down hook at the rear of the bed of my truck.

RE: Honda EU2000i carburetor rebuild kit

I've never overhauled the carb in my 16 year old EU2000 so I'm not sure why you would want to. There really is no rebuild "kit" just a couple of rings. There's a large o ring for the float bowl that should be replaced but that's about it. There's nothing wrong with your carb so why consider replacing it with a cheap aftermarket one? A genuine Honda carb is over $150 but why spend the money?
In summary there's nothing to rebuild, only a bit of cleaning to do if the carb is really gummed up. Tons of YouTube videos will show you how.
If you're just replacing the main jet I do that, clean what you can, and move on

RE: Fuel mileage

...and to the OP gas prices don't have much to do with who's in DC. It's more about what state you're in. So long as you don't come to California you'll be fine

RE: Newer 5ers, Slider Hitch Required For Short Beds?

Ram short bed and an Andersen ultimate hitch over a B&W turn over ball and your worries are over. I have jacked pretty hard at times and never come close to the cab.
Just ordered the Andersen. Went with the standard rail kit though.

RE: Opinions on Grand Design Fifth Wheels

We own a 2020 Reflection 337. Bought Sept. 2019 and no real problems. YMMV.
Thanks for the info. We're looking at the Solitude 310GK.

RE: Newer 5ers, Slider Hitch Required For Short Beds?

Gonna go with the Superglide auto slider
I hope you did your homework on the Superglide, and the limitations on hitching ,unhitching . Had a friend grow tired of it after couple years ,and got rid of it ,that and the weight to deal with. Hopefully you are aware of all this, they are not cheap .
I've used the hitch before with no problems. Two friends have the hitch with no problems. I'm familiar with the Superglide

RE: Montana Fifth Wheel

A little write up in the RV magazine rating the Montana Fifth Wheels in the top eight for cold weather camping . I never felt my previous 2008 Montana was very good in sub freezing weather. Apparently they have improved with their Arctic package.
Having owned a Montana previously, and taking into account my brother has a 2019 Montana High Country, they have improved nothing. Its all a load of BS just the same as the spew Keystone puts in their brochures and on their website.
RV magazine is owned by Camping World, Camping World is a Keystone dealer. Not hard to figure out.
A Montana is simply an upgraded Keystone Cougar imo.

RE: Anyone Installed a Bigger TV?

WHat size is OEM TV?
What size are you wanting to replace it with?
Many TVs use same mounting
And many of the new TVs are very light weight.
We had a 25" analog HEAVY TV in a cabinet. Took it out...made a cabinet door (huge storage area)
I installed a 32" Vizio on the face of cabinet door
That was in 2008 and still works fine.....no mounting issues etc
Check out the weight on the TV you want to use....not real heavy so doubt if you would have to do anything but swap TVs
Sound bars are not heavy items either....if mounting holes don't line uup with any wall 'studs' just use 'toggle bolts'
X2 You might be able to go to the same mount

RE: Opinions on Grand Design Fifth Wheels

As a 6 year owner of one and a frequent RV show attendee, my opinion is that GD charges a premium price for a rig not built or outfitted with any better appliances/components then Keystone, Jayco, or any of the rest in the $40-$60 thousand price range. Two things happened to GD that to me that diminished the quality; they got too big too fast and they got bought out by Winnebago. The GD faithful will vehemently dispute that but around 2017 when sales really took off and the original 3 owners of GD sold out(one stayed on) the complaints about quality really started to increase.
If I were looking again, I'd base my criteria first on floor plan/livability and then on price comparison. If a Jayco or Cougar has a similar floor plan and was cheaper, that's where I'd go.
Exactly, and thats coming from a two time owner. The first made early in the first year of production which was not bad at all, the second made early in 2019 which was a total piece of garbage. Grand Design started using more Lippert garbage than anyone else which is a hard thing to accomplish. They were very successful at pulling the wool over a lot of folks eyes, mine included. You have to give them credit for the marketing though. PT Barnum said it best.
Thanks for the input. I wonder what the Lippert garbage was you had a problem with. I've owned 2 trailers since 2004 that had Lippert components and never had a problem. Everything by Lippert has been flawless. I know Lippert cranked out a bunch of bad frames about 10 years ago or so, got crucified on the internet, and got a bad rep for that.
I have no affinity for Lippert, but Lippert is a huge company that makes many, many thigs; all are junk?
