RE: Do you know what brand/model this bed camper is?

The camper is a conventional wood frame model with metal siding. I would guess it was built some time between 1965 and 1980. They are simple to build, and there were literally dozens of smallish manufacturers around, most of which no longer exist - and in the time before the internet.
The good news is: this is not rocket science once you understand the basic construction principles.
There are specialized rv junkyards and many of the more exotic parts like siding are available as well.
There are also a number of people around who restore old rvs as a hobby. Maybe one of them chimes in.
It looks like a fun project and I wish you success - and a lot of fun with your little camper!
That's very helpful, thank you! The design is extremely simple, but I like learning everything I can about my projects/things I pick up. I haven't spent much time in campers, and I'm only 27 so all of your info is much appreciated. I hope to have this thing in usable shape before spring!

Those were quite common back in the day..Some of the local manufacturers like Security industries and Kit campers were ones we had...Easy to make an overnighter out of...
Thank you!

RE: Do you know what brand/model this bed camper is?

Just an update on the camper:
I've removed the entire base/floor/walls/bed frame. The shell itself is intact, but the insulation needs to be replaced and new walls put in. I have the base frame built for the floor and the walls, as well as the a new frame for the single bed, but I'm going to rewire the whole thing while I have it gutted. The shell is watertight, but I'm grouting the windows to make sure it's sealed. The door was destroyed, obviously someone tried to break in at some point, so I have plans for a newer more modern styled-door.

It could be any number of them, including a self-built Glen-L Truck cap.
That's still very helpful, thank you! I know nothing about campers, I just have construction/electrician experience and am taking a stab at something new. Plus I think it will be a great addition to my spring trout fishing trips. But I just did a quick search on Gen-L Truck Caps, and the construction on the frame looks extremely similar so thank you!

There is no info you could gain to help you do whatever you're going to do with that by knowing the make and model.
Knowing the make and model is more for my personal knowledge of it, but since the base was obviously homemade it would've been helpful to try and find original plans for this particular shell.

Unfortunately I believe you'll find more repair/replacement work than you anticipate. I hope I'm wrong.
Oh you're not wrong, there is quite a bit to do. The only things that are still good (but need to be cleaned up/polished/repainted) are the actual shell exterior and the windows.

Do you know what brand/model this bed camper is?

Hello everyone! I'm new to the camper life, and I found this old shell that someone had thrown away and knew that it had potential. It has major water and animal damage to the floor from being left on the ground (I'm assuming), so I'm currently rebuilding the base frame for it. Does anyone know what brand/make/model this may be? I haven't been able to find a logo or serial/VIN number anywhere on it. If you have any ideas, that would be extremely helpful as I try to restore it! I'll be ripping the bottom off and cleaning the inside in preparation for the new base, so that's why it's sitting on the door end. It has two sliding windows, one solid window toward the cab, and a main door on the back. It is a non-cabover camper, and had some 1978 travel books inside of it when I picked it up.

Hi and welcome! I suggest you start your own thread about this, or maybe ask a moderator to turn your posting into a thread of its own.
Nice find, I wish you luck and success for your project!
Thank you! I'll do that!

RE: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here

Hey everyone! I'm brand new to the camper scene, I've always been a sleeping bag on the ground type of person. But someone threw this truck bed camper shell away and I instantly saw its potential. It has severe water damage and animal damage from obviously being left somewhere on the ground. I'm currently rebuilding the base frame, but if anyone knows what model/make it is, that would be very helpful! There is no logo on it that I can find, not a serial/VIN number anywhere.
