RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

why buy a truck if it can't pull anything? Next they will try to sell you a 5 1/2 foot bed. My son didn't buy his truck to pull anything. He had a 2017 Chevy truck before this 2019 and he didn't tow anything with it. But he does use the bed of the truck to haul things every so often.

The two that I referred to are 2wd and I believe that the op's is also. That is good for one or two miles per gallon. And driving habits can make a lot difference. My son's truck is a 4x4, double cab.

RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

I tried making the link in Rubber Ducky's post to work, but link is not working! Maybe repost it, I'll see what I can do. I did find THIS group of videos when trying to find the one by RubberDucky....... Marty If you scroll down the list of those videos, you'll come to "Related to your search" The next video listed titled "A Detailed Look At the 2019 Chevy Silverado's Four Cylinder Engine" is the video I was referring to.

There's a video on YouTube that gives detailed information on this engine. https://youtu.be/9w3HItRrBI4 Maybe someone can make a clicky for me. Thanks

RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

Update: My son said that his new truck is performing great for him. Right now he is averaging 24mpg highway and 20mpg city. I'll try to give further updates when he gets more miles on it.

RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

For all of you Debbie Downers, you know what truck I have? I have a 1993 Nissan D21 pickup. It has the 2.4l 4 cylinder engine. It is 2 wheel drive. It has 68,255 actual miles on it. I bought it new in June 1993. I use it to pull a trailer with my golf cart on the trailer. I've also had the bed loaded down to haul various items. Since my truck has an automatic tranny, it is rated to tow only 2000 lbs. My son's new truck is rated to tow 7000 lbs. But like I mentioned in my original post, my son doesn't plan on towing anything with this new truck. He didn't tow anything with the 2017 Silverado he had. As I said I'll try and post his opinions of his new truck after he gets some miles on it.

RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

Thanks for all the replies. My son took the plunge and got himself a 2019 Silverado with the I4 2.7l turbo engine. Awesome! I'm glad he didn't let all the baseless naysaying deter him. If the truck feels good and will do the job for him, it's the right choice. There's a warranty for any issues he might have, and lemon laws if they ultimately can't fix the problem. Would you relay his impressions of the truck after he's had it for a while? After my son has put some miles on his new truck, I'll post his thoughts of it.

RE: Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

I've been looking at new 1/2 ton Chebbys recently as I may need to buy a new 1/2 ton. Bottom line, they're not popular. Local Chevy dealer that has the "deals" on pickups, has, just checked, about 80 Silverado 1500s listed on their website and exactly 1 - 4 banger turbo. Reports are the mileage isn't stellar and who want's a screaming Tyota Corolla engine in a full size pickup? Unless the deal is literally too good to pass up, which is unlikely because there are 1000s of 2019 Silverados for $10-15k off sticker everywhere, it's not worth it. JMO Grit Dog, if by a screaming Toyota Corolla engine you mean that there will be a lot of unwanted sound from the engine in the cab, it was pretty quite in the cab. We test drove 2 different ones Saturday and when my son mashed the pedal it stayed quiet in the cab. Now you could hear the turbo but it wasn't bad at all.

Chevy's I4 2.7 turbo engine

My son is looking at getting a 2019 Silverado 1500 truck. A lot of them on the lots have Chevy's new 2.7 turbo engine. This engine replaces the 4.3 V6. He won't be towing a camper with it. He is wondering about the reliability of this new engine. Right now he has a 2017 Silverado with the V6. Any info on this new engine will be greatly appreciated and I'll pass it on to him.

Big black ants

My trailer is parked on a seasonal site. What can I use on the outside to TRY and keep black ants from getting into my unit. We keep all food in sealed containers and keep kitchen area clean but those pesky big black ants still come in for a visit. Thanks for any replies.
