RE: Tow vehicle charging RV batteries

I bought from Amazon a 20watt solar panel charger/maintainer connected to battery #1 while the trailer powers off #2 battery then next day switch to #1 battery and transfer the solar connectors to #2 battery to charge. As a backup I carry a 12v charger powered by a 2K generator. Works for me.

RE: When a sale is not a sale

Even though the check was cut in front of the seller, couldn't the buyer put a stop payment on it afterwards? Just asking...not for a friend.

RE: Dump Station Observations

I always wondered why we even choose to stand in line - it's not like waiting to use the toilet. Plenty of dump stations between any campground and anyone's home, and a few hundred pounds won't change anyone's gas mileage. I know of none anywhere near my home. Same here and that's why I tapped into my septic system at home. I will dump at an RV site where I've camped but won't wait in line if there's two or more units ahead of me then I'll dump at home.

RE: Propane tank locks for my TT

I double nut the treaded shaft using two Nylock nuts to discourage thief. But a cordless grinder will cut through a lock or the shaft.

RE: Propane Tanks Direction

I though propane cylinders on a trailer tongue were REQUIRED to be covered. Yours aren’t out in the open are they? :):) I have 40lb tanks without cover because there aren't any made if they are made, somebody plz provide a link. BTW I just viewed several youtube "Propane" titles and the tanks are all facing forward. Here's a couple. Just saying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTvhqLGNomM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5dPcX3leao

RE: Best mouse trap?

I set a video cam towards an old style mouse trap and got this footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a-KW9xk2wM

RE: Best mouse trap?

I've tried mouse/rat traps using peanut butter, chocolate, grain, etc with very little luck. I tried glue pad but only get one mouse and my barn is full of mice so that gets expensive having to throw away a rat glue pad for one mouse. I tried the 5 gal bucket with a rolls dabbed with peanut butter drowning just a couple at a time then nothing. I even got a barn cat but then I got bitten up from their fleas.

RE: Battery problem

Drive it to an O'Reilly, Autozone, Costco or a any Battery shop and have it load tested. It's a free test.

RE: 1990 Terry Taurus with twin beds

Use a measuring tape and measure the cabin length and then the bumper to coupler separately. Then post the measurements here along with pictures of exterior and interior.

RE: HF Predator mod to parallel

I'm trying to re-wire a HF generator to parallel. Parallel the Genny head windings, 120v only but more amps, same Watts I didn't read all the replies but would this help? https://www.harborfreight.com/rv-ready-30a-parallel-kit-for-predator-2000-inverter-generator-62564.html https://shop.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/6/2/62564_zzz_500_3.jpg

RE: Rv length

CA NF campground listed several sites at 40' but to compare sites, one maybe shorter than the other. I was lucky that my 30' TT and TV fitted without unhooking in a 40' space but right next was also listed at 40' but way shorter. To be safe, just got to personally check.

RE: TT Lengths

It's very confusing to the buyers as to how the mfr list their models. My son bought a 2020 25' Coleman model but the cabin itself is only 20' at best. I have a 25' R-Vision model but from coupler to bumper is 30'. For potential buyers, bring a measuring tape measure with you so don't take the salesman's word. LOL

RE: How wide do mirrors need to be for a TT?

Although with my side mirrors I can see 200' behind, however, I decided to order a rear wireless camera that'll be mounted on the back of my trailer. This way I'll be able to see if I'm hindering traffic on a two lane country road and if so I can use the pull-out area for them to pass.

RE: How wide do mirrors need to be for a TT?

Just to be clear these are the mirrors that I have. As for vibration it's very slight and only noticeable if you look at them for longer than a glance to check if there is a vehicle further back beside/behind you. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1462/13616456/24860498/414479405.jpg

RE: How wide do mirrors need to be for a TT?

The main concern is knowing if there is someone back there before changing lanes. Correct. BTW I'll be mounting a wired rear cam on my TT just to know if anybody is there :).

RE: How wide do mirrors need to be for a TT?

... Tried the CIPA ones before. They vibrate and one fell off. The pair I have doesn't vibrate much and that's why I've kept them by removing and installing from two previous GM tow vehicles to my current one. BTW I extended them while towing my TT once but couldn't see the difference in the side view so pushed them back in and haven't extended them ever since.

RE: How wide do mirrors need to be for a TT?

Buy yourself a set of these. Tundra and Sequoia mirrors fit the same. Super easy to install too. Agree on the mirrors. That's what I installed on my TV.
