RE: best way to recover a roof

Gdetrailer so what you are saying is that it is a waste of time painting anything as it will not stick and wash off. I hope you didn’t pay for paint on your vehicle or your home. Yes there is prosesses for applications of most coatings and everything has a limited lifespan but maintenance do extend this.

RE: Is there an Air Conditioner using Inverter Compressor

Many people in Australia has installed the household inverter type revers cycle 240V air conditioning in there FW, and also now’s of one using the roof type cassette, not heard of any failure for several years. I and many others have also installed household 240V inverter refrigerator which runs of a 350-375W inverter.

Microlite Mike I have definitely been there, when used to ride motorcycle, and 3 mates shared a 4 man tent and could have gotten away with a 2 person one.

RE: first commercially available all electric RV

I just went back to manufacturer site, and the solar capacity is stated as 1600-2000-or2400W
So I don’t know where you get only 600W. Anyway I am not buying one and nor are you obviously.
It is clear that some on hear have not got much idea about new technology and the rest of the world.

As far as toilet goes most al places has som sort of toilet, or you have to be fully self contained, most of those places also has a time limits for staying, drinking water can be brought in by containers or water bladders if not wanting to shift trailer. Camping is only allowed in designated areas, but overnight can be done in roadside rest area's.

1 yes possible. But solar panels also create shade for roof, so are you saying that Americans park there vehicles with solar in the shade, I don’t think so, and I never did if wanting to charge batteries.
2 yes manny people park in the shade, but most don’t have much in the way of solar and live outside there trailer only used as a bedroom.

RE: first commercially available all electric RV

I think that som of you need to read. It says power by 14k Battery and 1600-2000w of solar. I have a Glendale Titanium hear in Australia. It has been partly converted to Australian 240V supply true a step down converter. Fridge is a 240V household Mitsubishi inverter type, as is TV and washing machine running of a 375W inverter 24Hours a day. Rest is 120V. Also has a 3000W 120V inverter for microwave etc. batteries are 300A lithium. Power use about 100A in a 24 hour period. Solar is 600W. This normally is adequate to recharge batteries if not I have a Honda 2.2 generator that charges via my 125A charger. Many hear instal reversible 2500W inverter air conditioner in there FW and report better cooling and less power drain. And lastly hear in OZ we do get a lot of sunshine.
I am not running out to get on but do realise this is Australian and you don’t get much van for under $100000.
Have a good day Frank..

Pin box

I have a Atwood 77 degree pin box, it is currently mounted as low as it vill go with the bolts in bottom holes then a clear row and bolts in third row. I am considering lowering one more row so bolts will be in bottom and next row, but this doesn’t live much in the connection, is this ok or not.
What do you think.
Thanks Frank.

RE: Why a Diesel Ranger is better than a RAM as a tow vehicle

A light vehicle wit a GVWR under 4500kg can not tow any more than manufacturers tow rating in this case 3500kg. In Australia. If. No rating by manufacturer it can tow 1.5 times it’s own weight.

RE: Why a Diesel Ranger is better than a RAM as a tow vehicle

Robert the information is rubbish. Yes the Ranger can get a GCM upgrade in som states, this how ever don’t mean you don’t have to comply with the other ratings, like GVWR, axle and tyre ratings. The Ranger is no better as a tow vehicle for anything but the lightest FW and travel trailers than the Ram 1500. Want to tow a FW get a 350.

RE: How many strokes??

Sorry but you to are just as bad, I had a new travel trailer som years ago with the Dexter setup, only greased them a few times and only maybe 5 strokes while spinning wheels, at end of trip removed wheels to adjust brakes as not stopping to great, and guess what grease on to brakes, so maybe the luck of the draw, or maybe som manufacturer use better seals than others.
