RE: Towing a horse trailer with TC

If the camper hangs off the back, you will need to extend the truck hitch, unless you modify the trailer with a longer hitch. E-trailer sells truck extensions. You want to make sure the trailer never comes in contact with the camper.

RE: Dually Mud Flaps Required?

I found some Ford part number ones on ebay. Should be here in a few days and will post my thoughts.

RE: Dually Mud Flaps Required?

Anyone have a suggestion for some no drill ones for the rear wheels? My F450 came with front ones that were easy enough to install. Now I wonder why they didn't come with rears. I live on a gravel road, so probably a good idea! I see some that don't look very long. How important is the length. I would assume longer would be better.

Dually Mud Flaps Required?

I was watching youtube and the kydd folks just got a F450 to tow a big 5er. One comment they made was mud flaps are required on a dually. Are they really required by law in some areas?

RE: Cargo Trailer Shopping

The Interstate Loadrunner has a longer warranty. The one I linked is taller that a basic unit. The basic 8.5 x 16 from them can be had for close to $5000.

RE: Cargo Trailer Shopping

What I plan to haul is only a smidge over 10ft. Would I ever haul anything longer? hard to say. I appreciate the comments. Makes me feel more confident once I buy.

RE: Cargo Trailer Shopping

I have been eyeing this one. It claims a weight of 2090. Interstate Loadrunner

RE: Cargo Trailer Shopping

Trailers I am looking at are all dual axle. I also need to get some extra height. I am in OK. Most i have looked at are over double what you paid. I have been pulling a 12ft single axle. It works well just not wide enough and not enclosed so I worry when I leave it in a parking lot while shopping.

Cargo Trailer Shopping

Shopping for a cargo trailer to house my 6 to 7 foot wide (depending on tires) side by side. I am looking at 8.5 wide so lengths start at 16ft. I find a few at 18ft and more at 20. I don't need the extra length and know towing shorter is easier in tight spaces. I have a torklift cannon rated at 6600lbs with a weight distro hitch. Am I wrong thinking the lighter shorter trailer (of similar quality) will tow better? I am looking at Interstate Loadrunners locally and a Wells Cargo a days drive away.

RE: Rear View Camera

I am looking at 1080p options. I have a Voyager unit that has a rock steady image, jut not high enough resolution for me. Also want to get a two camera unit since I plan to pull a trailer.

RE: Full air ride modification

Wow, so you have to remove the original suspension mounts for the Kellerman bits to work? Looks like quite a project.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

All is well now. Batteries are holding a charge and charging like they should. I was not using the camper. I did turn on the light in the dump valve bay looking to see where I could possibly route some wires. The only thing we used might have been using was the interior lights. Slide had not been moved for a couple of months. I don't have a clue what would cause that 30 amp fuse to blow. Other than storms, but given it was a 12v fuse that blew, I'm not sure if a surge on the ac side would make a 12v fuse blow. But then again, I am no electrical expert.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

I will need to add water in the AM before heading out for a two day trip. If I end up needing batteries, its just the price of doing RV stuff and not paying attention to everything. I wish the slide out tray would come out farther. I will need to remove one so I can slide the other out far enough.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

No but we have had a lot of severe weather and tons of close lightening. Might have been from that.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

Turns out it has a Progressive PD9245C. One of the 30 amp fuses was blown. I replaced it and it’s charging now. Fingers crossed it was a faulty fuse. Lol. Thanks to all for the brain infusion. I get dumb when tired and problem solving.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

I think the converter is under the step by the front window. I need to open the slide to get to it. I am slowly raising the camper to get it on my truck and move it out in the sun. I have not upgraded my solar yet so just the 20 amp panel. I figure anything should help.

RE: Battery Charging Issue

I was typing on my phone, let me try now at a PC. I was about to load my TC on my truck. Its been in my shop for several months plugged into a 50 amp circuit (with 30a adapter). Yesterday I noticed a beep every few minutes, but assumed it was the smoke detector. Batteries were low (3.5v) when I checked. I just need to troubleshoot the battery charge circuit.

Battery Charging Issue

Was about to load up the camper but batteries were down to 3.5 volts. Ac was on and it’s been stored since we got home in my shop. I had power as recently as last week but don’t know how long the batteries have been without a charge. I am guessing the charge controller has failed. I have a charger on the batteries now so I can get it on my truck. Then need to troubleshoot. Got any suggestions for the best procedure to track it down?

RE: Lance Bed Plug Location in 2017-2019 SuperDuty?

That's interesting that the plug is just a pass through connectorish thing. Thanks for the picks BradW

RE: Lance Bed Plug Location in 2017-2019 SuperDuty?

I have the fifth wheel prep package which puts a plug in the bed behind the drivers rear wheel. I need to crawl under there and figure where it's tied into the harness. I would like to put a plug up front too. I have a longer cord for my Arctic Fox that is easy enough to use.
