RE: 12v to 120v inverter question

I was concerned about the fuse on the 12v side

12v to 120v inverter question

What would a 5A draw on the 120v side of the inverter be on the 12v side?

RE: Trailer or Motorhome...For a Boater/Fisherman-Which Rig?

Cabover camper is the only way to be happy as a fisherman with a boat. Speaking from experience.

RE: House Battery

A bigger battery group 31, or 27, likely better choice, than 24, depending on length of time not connected. If just a short term power disruption, a 24 will serve you without issue. I like the Interstate brand, but most brands will do the job, if fresh to start with, and properly maintained. Jerry Joel, I believe that Jerry has given you the best advice. It doesn't sound like you plan on boondocking or camping without hookups and just want 12v power when traveling or not connected. If you plan on going with just one battery, I think that I would choose a 27.

RE: RVs over 10 years old are valueless

I have been going to Majestic Oak Resort in Rockport Texas, for the winter, since I retired in 2016. I have a very nice 1999 Jayco Eagle 5W. My reservation was set for the 2021-22 winter season, deposit paid. Later, last spring I received a phone call informing me my rig would not be allowed as it was beyond their 10 year rule. They refunded my deposit. This RV park is under new ownership and management. New owners at our seasonal campground caused us to sell our 5th wheel due to all their changes. So let me understand. You decided to sell your unit rather than find another campground? Chuck There is a long answer and a short answer, the short answer is it was the only option for where we camp seasonally.

RE: Sold RV and toad

"Throwing in the towel" is probably most often a combination of things and some of them can be very small things that just add to the pile.

RE: Gas prices

If an average trip required 100 gallons, we are currently around $100 more for that trip. In the grand scheme of things, not a high percentage really and if anything, it might just persuade folks to stay a little longer.

RE: Good Sam ERS Hung Us Out to Dry

My buddy recently had a blowout on his 5th wheel and he sat on the side of the road for 4 hours waiting for his roadside assistance. No one was willing to take the call. The contracted tow companies have a choice to accept the call or not. My guess, tire changes are not worth the time and effort for the amount of compensation.

RE: 5th wheel tailgate

Would a nylon web tailgate be easier until one of the V gates comes out for your model?

RE: Electric Smoker for Long Term

Super Dave, great to see you on the board again. Of the three smokers (Cookshack, SmokinTex and Smokin-It) which are made in the USA? I can't speak to Cookshack and SmokinTex but possibly excluding some electronic parts, my Smokin-It was US made.

RE: What time of day recreation.gov release their campsites?

But not until 6 months from the day you want to leave in my experience.

RE: Alignment...I think!

Similar situation on my boat and it was the axle. In my case, the U bolt had slipped a little.

RE: Anyone dribble their gray ?

Guess he should define dribble, I interpret "dribble" as while you drive.

RE: Electric Smoker for Long Term

FYI, the Green Mountain Davey Crockett model has been replaced by the Trek model. They no longer make the Davey Crockett. The only difference between the two is they changed the legs. If you want a high end smoker and have looked at the Cookshack and SmokinTex, the Smokin-It is comparable at a much better price point.

RE: Andersen Ultimate Hitch - my observations

The road that I travel to the lake is so rough that it will rattle your fillings loose without towing anything. My Andersen tows no different than an empty load on that rough road.

RE: Fresh water tank

Or the dealer may have put water in the tank to do a systems test before you took delivery.

RE: Question about freshwater tank use

4 seasons in our 5th wheel and the fresh water tank has never seen a drop of water. Our campground has full hook ups and never had an issue. We do keep a few 3 gallon water jugs in the trailer for coffee.

4 season package?

Is there an easy way to know if my trailer is 4 season rated?

RE: Do I Want to Break Down Solids?

My black tank sensor has never worked, reads 2/3's full even when empty.
