RE: Fantastic Fan Quit

I had one with a ground wire that was either loose or corroded. Cleaned up the ground and tightened it and all was well. TomC

RE: Sub 35 foot Well Built Motorhome?

I've always liked the Winnebago Journey 32. I believe it has 6 seatbelts. The Journey is also available in 34 ft. The models I am thinking about were produced in the early 2000's

RE: A Really Rustic Camper

I would love to pull up to one of those parks with the 10 year rule in either one of those!

RE: Water ingestion in engine on 2011 Tiffin Phaeton 36QSH

There is a difference between water vapor injection and ingestion of a large slug of water. Guys who build up their diesels use water vapor injection to increase power and assist in cooling the combustion chamber. Sometimes they will add something like alcohol to the water to increase power. Pullers (farm tractors) will inject gallons of water in a pull to keep things cooler.

RE: How Hard Is It To Solo In A Class A?

Semi drivers, straight truck drivers, bus drivers all do it solo and some of them can just about thread a needle backing up. I am not solo but would prefer to do my backing solo. DW has a whole set of gestures that make no sense to me. The best time was when she was guiding me in while the campground host was also guiding me. I almost ended up sideways in the spot. Waited for the host to leave, sent DW off to do something else and redid the job myself. Go to a deserted parking lot, set up some cones and practice backing using your mirrors. I use the rear view camera to make sure I don't back over anything directly behind the motorhome. You could also just stick to drive through sites.

RE: Blackstone griddle

I have the Coleman Roadtrip and agree it is a pain to clean. There is a flat surface griddle top available that replaces the two grates. Works very well and cleanup is a breeze. With the griddle top in place you are not able to close the lid. It is solid aluminum and I bought mine off Home Depot's website

RE: Breathing soaking crate pad

I wonder if it would help to raise the crate off the floor with something like some 2x4's so air could circulate under the pad as well. If your crate has one of the metal pans in the base you may want to remove it which would expose the bottom of the pad to air circulation. TomC

RE: Class A Diesel Idling

I've got a 2002 F250 with the 7.3L turbo diesel. Just for grins and giggles I decided to consult the owners manual to see what Ford's take was on this topic. For cold weather starts they recommend heating the glow plugs, starting the engine and let it idle for 15 seconds (not a typo)! They did, however, recommend a 7 to 10 minute cool down after extended high speed or maximum GVW operation. The truck has over 150000 miles on it and it has never been in the shop for an engine/transmission problem.
