Congrats! Best thing I can tell you is run it hard. They like the loads. When towing you will have to learn to back off the throttle. That thing can be scary! Remember too, on damp pavement your rear end can quickly become your front end. Enjoy. You're in for a treat!!!!!!!
Thanks for the tip! You guys got any other tidbits of information. Since this is my first diesel, I have a lot to learn about maintenance, and how to operate it properly to get the max life out of it.
Congratulations on the new TV, but now you have really done it!!
You DON'T have enough trailer for your TV!! Time to upgrade that 8,200# GVWR TT to a nice 13,000# 5er, and at least make that Cummins work a little!!
Hahahaha....that's known as the "retirement plan".
Dude, I read this whole thread and saw your truck and was like...wait, thats Pt. Mugu! Put 2 and 2 together and realized who you were. Im the dude from 2 spots down, our kids were playing together. I had the gold Silverado 1/2 ton. Remember how envious I was when you went and bought that? I just picked one up yesterday..lol!
Thanks guys! I absolutely loved my old chevy, but it came down to a better deal on the dodge. And yes, I cant seem to stop smiling when Im driving it. Even the wife loves driving it, and she hated driving my old truck. The 5.3 did the job, but no more white knuckling, or 30 mph climbs for this guy.
Hey all. I dont post on here too often, but spend A LOT of time reading posts and learning on this site. Anyway, I picked up my new truck yesterday, and wanted to share the excitement. I traded in my 2005 Silverado 1500 w/ the 5.3, for a 2014 Ram 2500 6.7 4x4. What a difference already! I'm over the moon with excitement. Its is such a beast compared to my old truck. This is my first diesel truck, so I have nothing to compare it to in that sense.
Here she is in all glory
