I spent years loading Jeeps into a couple of different toy haulers we had. I guess to clarify, I'm not looking for them to lift the truck either. I want them to keep the truck level the truck when a load is applied... So the "lift" I'm referring to would be to lift the truck back up to level after it has sagged down from the load. Sorry for any confusion there.

Hmmm... They did include a plastic puck and it is installed per the directions. They refer to it as an "air spring protector", and it simply sits above the airbag and engages the flange around the upper coil spring bucket to keep the airbag from squirting up through the bucket.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I have tested them several times and they inflate and hold 50psi just fine, no leaks. They are snug in the coils, so I'm relatively confident the diameter is correct. With that said, there is about 3/8" of vertical free play in them with the truck unloaded at ride height? Several rounds of testing with various weights, and empty, have confirmed there is never any gain in height when adding air pressure. To that point, as I mentioned before, the truck will sag about 1/2" with 140lbs of water softener salt in the bed with the bags at 50spi??

In-Coil Airbags

I apologize in advance for the long-winded question... Looking for feedback from anyone that has run the in-coil style supplemental airbags, such as the Load Lifter 1000 series from Air Lift. I recently installed a set on the rear of my 2019 Ram 1500 pickup, and I'm not getting any actual leveling capacity out of them? The truck sags just as much with the bags as it did without them? They are supposedly rated at 2,100lbs of capacity at 50psi, so I would certainly expect them to handle the ~650lbs of tongue weight from my trailer, but they just don't seem to do anything in the way of leveling at all? With all of that said, I was reading some information on the Air Lift website about how these types of air bags actually function, and it sounds as if they are intended to balloon out between the coil windings and physically prevent the spring from compressing. This leads me to believe that the bags need to be inflated PRIOR to loading? I'm not seeing that written anywhere, and in fact the user manual states "...when increasing load, adjust air pressure to maintain normal ride height..." So here is the question: for those of you running this type of airbag, are you filling them up before loading?

I've been considering these as well, always just run standard air bags but I like the "idea" of no maintenance or leakage issues... So do these install in a compressed state such that they effectively add spring rate like an airbag? And do they offer some roll-resistance when they stretch out, such as in cornering situations?

F53 Chassis Lean

Our 2018 Jayco Alante has got a leaning problem to the curb side... When it's on perfectly level ground, there is a noticeable list and we often have issues with the automatic steps jamming into the ground when we park anywhere on uneven terrain. Taking it back to the dealer has proven pointless, as they can't seem to find any sort of manufacturer reference or tolerance for allowable lean, and hang their hat on the fact that it drives down the road just fine and isn't wearing the tires unevenly. Has anyone dealt with a lean issue? And no, it's not just overly loaded on the curb side, it's done this since new last season whether we are loaded or not, and individual corner weights are within a couple hundred pounds so that's not it.

So we own a 2017 Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition. Nope not getting 23mpg , more like 17 city 20 highway. Love the car. Well I took it in for an oil change a couple weeks ago to the dealer. They gave it back without putting oil back in it. So they had it for a bit while they put a new engine into it on their dime. Had a 2019 wrangler to drive for a week and half. Ride is comparable, but the new models tend to wander on the freeway. Mine stays where you put it as long and there's no wind blowing you around in comparison to the 2019. I attribute that to the new electric steering in the 2019 vs a hydraulic power steering. Mine is a tighter steering. The new transmission is a 9 speed vs 5 on mine. It seems to give a little smoother power range and peppier at the accereration from a dead stop. But not much. Always seems to have the right gear at the right time. This is were the gas savings is in my opinion. Also the start stop feature helps ... But I hate it! Yes you can turn it off , but everytime you start it. The engines are the same 3.6 Pentastar. The doors on the 2019 are aluminum. Glad I have steel doors. Just feel safer. The view out the rear window is better on the 2019 as they moved the wiper arm to the bottom of the window, freeing that motor from blocking the view at the top like on mine. Some like the new dash on the 2019. It was more ... Feminized ... if I'm allowed to say it than the older models. I really like the old dash better even with the small media screen. Optics, the new body style isn't working for me for some reason. I really like mine and even with the new engine installed after 35,000 miles I'll keep mine for as long as I can. The biggest thing I liked was the transmission on the 2019. But it wasn't enough to get me to move. OH ... And the Gladiator Rubicon I saw was $60,000. Crazy Just a couple corrections for those that may use this thread for any actual research... 1. The JL uses an 8-speed automatic, not a 9-speed. It is a variant of the ZF-8HP that is widely used across the industry. 2. The 3.6L Pentastar in the 2018+ JL Wrangler is not the same as the 3.6L Pentastar that was in the previous generation JK Wrangler. Among the many key differences: * Cooled EGR valve * New valve train * New PCV * Smaller oil sump * Higher compression * ESS (as mentioned above, this can be disabled at start-up)

Bedrug Feedback

Anyone have experience with one of the Bedrug type products for the bed of your pickup? I'm considering that instead of a typical spray-in liner, but I'm just not sure how well it will really hold up to the elements since my truck isn't garaged and we get a pretty solid dose of all four seasons here in Eastern WA. I don't haul dirt or mulch in the bed, but I do use it for pretty much every other typical application like fire wood, Home Depot runs, junkyard parts, etc. Appreciate any feedback.

Your Rubi been throwing any pebbles at the back of your coach. My JK wasn't lifted but the JL is and was wondering about that. Hmmm, I haven't noticed that happening but I'll have to take a very close look at the back wall of the coach? We've put probably 1,500 miles on the setup and thankfully the majority of those have been on decent paved roads, but there are probably a good 150+ miles or so of gravel forest service roads... I have been considering one of those full-width flaps for the back of the motorhome to keep stuff off the Jeep, never actually considered the reverse issue from the front tires on the Jeep throwing stuff forward...

RE: F53 motorhome towing 7k realistic?

Lots of variables here, such as towing speed, terrain, etc. I spent over 10 years in an E-450 Class C towing about 6k with zero issues, and last summer changed it up to a F53 Class A and towed the same load all season with zero issues. Looking at forums, specs, ratings, etc is always good for research purposes, but odds are good you simply won't know until you try.

RE: Ryobi 900 Watt Propane Generator

700w continuous running, aka 6.08 amps at 115v better get a small portable battery charger, and connect directly to the generator to NOT plug the RV into that generator, For those of us not in the know on electrical stuff, can you elaborate on why you wouldn't plug the RV directly into the generator? Is the amperage it puts out too low, and that somehow damages the onboard system(s) in the RV? I've been looking into something small and quiet to just setup and leave running all weekend while we dry camp so we don't have to worry so much about lights and device charging...
